And a dude in an f’in sue jersey. Omg can I go anywhere without seeing one?!
They are like cockroaches at the crack stacks in Mpls. Where there is one, there’s another and they are everywhere.
Keep your stick on the ice...
So about the second half push to take fewer penalties…
I don’t know how it looks on tv but on the concourse I swear it’s 4:1 wild apparel. ?
I didn't look for a general NHL thread, so I'll put this here. The ghost of Scott Stevens exists. What a hit:
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Hilariously bad turnover by Phoenix on that goal. Wow.
I don't think the 'yotes ever actually have a 'home' game.

Zuccarello with absolutely zero situational awareness on the blue line leads to a shorty, and the lead, for Arizona.

That was a pretty embarrassing game.
That was a pretty embarrassing game.
There should have been a turnstile installed in the visitor's penalty box tonight. Turns out committing a crap ton of penalties is a good way to lose to a lousy team. Two goals against AZ oof.
The team just doesn't have a lot of talent. I think they play hard and gritty, but there are too many average players out there.
I'm wondering what part of "it's all about winning" leads a team to continually start their worst goaltender? That was a pretty embarrassing game.

Even prior to playing at the ASU arena, it always seemed like there were lots of away jerseys in the seats vs. Arizona. Even Vikings games at Arizona. Very much like if you watch Vegas (both Knights and Raiders) play. Phoenix and especially Vegas are destination cities.

Moreover, there are a lot of retirees from the north, snow birds, and families who visit during the cold weather months in Minnesota.

But Billy G. said he wasn't going to let Salary amounts or Number of years played dictate playing time...
This team is about 29th in the league at 5 on 5 scoring, MAF SV% is probably around 29th in the league at 5 on 5 too... MAF hasn't been playing well, but our offense isn't very good either. There is equal blame to be spread around the team, coaches and front office included, for why this team is where it is.
Yeah, I'm not trying to pin last night's game directly on Fleury. I'm just wondering why he was even on the ice?I'm wondering what part of "it's all about winning" leads a team to continually start their worst goaltender? That was a pretty embarrassing game.

So the bottom 11 are in on the Bedard sweepstakes?
Yeah, but it’ll be Chicago because of course it will.

Wild at ⭐️rs tonight I hate both teams will not watch
Aloha!
Wild are on TNT tonight, I can finally watch... All I get is a message saying "This Program's blocked in your area."
Why is it blocked? Previous Wild games on TNT have not been blocked for me... (I am on YouTubeTV)

Same here, this is some next level fuckery
Seriously?!?!?! You want to alienate a huge portion of your fanbase? Make it impossible, and/or cost prohibitive to watch the local team. EFF OFF!!!
This sucks. At least the nationally televised games I could watch. Now I cannot even watch those? Between Bally's, ESPN+, and now this... I give Bally's, the Wild, and the NHL the NoDak Salute mlm mlm

I can understand from Bally's perspective though - they spent a lot of money to get the rights to the games. They want to try to force people to buy into their product.
I hear you though. I won't be able to watch any MN United games this year as I refuse to pay for Apple tv. Kind of a bummer but I can't subscribe to every single streaming service.

If you happen to use t-mobile as your cell provider AppleTV is free

I'm on an older plan that gives me Netflix for free. Looks like you have to be on magenta max for apple tv.
Edit: Looks like I can get 6 months of apple tv for free but then it's $6.99/month after that.
These guys are done.
Fleury really sucks

Panic and do what? Add someone to this mediocre team?
Time to trade Greenway, Dumba, Foligno, and Hartman for whatever you can get. The problem is going to be NOBODY is interested in these guys.
Hell if I know, I'm just going to panic.

Why is everybody so worried? Brock Faber is going to lead the Gophers to the National Championship and then lead the Wild to the Stanley Cup.
When was the last time they scored a 5on5 goal? 2022?

These are the guys on my list as well, and I would add Spurgeon. Also, Reeves can barely even keep up out there and Goli is over the hill.
Where was Brodin tonight?
At one time I thought they need to get rid of 6 or 7 players. Now, I'm thinking they should keep that many.
they are a terrible team, will not make make the playoffs
Aloha!

Parrish said this morning they’ll make it.
Keep your stick on the ice...
With MN sports luck they'll limp into the last spot and get smoked in 4 games in the 1st round, setting them up for a really nice draft pick. ?

That is the Wild I am very familiar with. I have seen that script nearly every year.
Go on a late season swoon, scratch and claw your way back into the playoffs, get embarrassed in Round 1.
Smart move would be to start trading anyone that won't be around in 3 years. Start with Foligno and Spurgeon. Probably Brodin as well
I'm pretty sure both Spurgeon and Brodin will be here in 3 years.

They could have traded any combination of those you listed plus more that weren't going to be here long anyway. And Kept Fiala for 7 years. But F scoring and point/game players in the new age NHL.
But what are the chances that either will be worth what they're being paid in three years?I'm pretty sure both Spurgeon and Brodin will be here in 3 years.
Guerin already threw 4 years away. What's the point of waiting for the Suter and Parise disaster to clear the salary cap, if you're going to have another $13M of bad cap waiting for you at the end of it?

I very much think those 2 will be worth what they're paid. The only bad cap on this team are the buyouts IMO, and that doesn't mean it was the wrong move. Just limiting. Maybe Dumba, but the injury a few years back really altered his career and he's off the books after this year. I'm actually pretty amazed how BG has setup the team.
Locking up Boldy was likely a good move. Spurg and Brodin should age just fine and are worth what they're paid now. What they need is their #1 prospect pool per The Athletic to pan out. I think Wallstedt should be good. Rossi hopefully becomes a top 6 F as well. Maybe Khusnidinov turns into the 1c we crave, or we'll have cap space in the summer of 25 to actually shop for one as well.
I'm not in the boat of sell off all assets this year. We don't even have a ton of valuable assets to begin with. We need a top 6 scoring F, tons of space for a rental, and tons of prospects in the system. I personally make a move to solidify us in a playoff spot and see what happens.
Offseason we can make more moves. Greenway, Steel, Dumba are all likely gone. Duhaime has actually looked decent lately and will be cheaper. In order to be competitive these next 2 years, the answer will be the kids though. Someone has to emerge.
Spurgeon has never been worth what he is being paid. The chances that he's still a quality NHL defenseman at 36-38 are not great. Brodin is more likely to still be worth keeping around, but it's still a risk.
Spending quality future assets just to try and scratch into the playoffs, seems like a bad idea to me. Even more so because anything you add now has to be a rental that you can't keep beyond this season.
Sell Dumba, Foligno, Spurgeon, maybe Greenway and/or Gaudreau as well. Hope to get a top 10 pick in a draft with a bunch of highly rated centers, and then spend the summer dumpster diving trying to piece a team together with no cap space

I don't spend any time at all on cap space issues and contracts, but I agree with your list. Brodin is a better defender than Spurgeon, but Spurgeon projected to be an offensive defensemen. I think he's regressed in that category, bringing his value down even more. At this point, if Spurgeon isn't scoring, I'd take Brodin over him any day.
Greenway has stretches that make a believer out of me, but when you average it all out, the numbers just aren't there. Same with Foligno.
I don't think the team would be much better with Parise and Suter, but it would have been nice to keep Fiala. The problem is, if you have to trade good prospects to keep him and get average stiffs in return, the end result probably wouldn't be that much different, would it? They'd still be a team scratching to get into the playoff picture.
Setting aside the salary cap discussion, who are the players you would keep? For me it's KK, Ek, Boldy, Zuc, Addison, Brodin based solely on the eye test. Honestly, the only "franchise" guys are KK and Boldy.
