Wild are locked into their position, I think. Blackhawks in full tank mode nearly all season. Should be an epic throw down.
Edit: Checked the standings. They can still move up. Maybe just counting on Chicago having zero interest in winning.
Wild could move up to 2, which is really just playing for home ice and last change I suppose. Could get 1, but requires a win out and Colorado lose out (I believe).
The last week of sports in hockey and basketball can be dumb.

Pretty unlikely at this point...
2 Points back of Dallas, and 4 back of Colorado.
Dallas plays @DET and then a home and home with STL. Neither team with anything to play for.
Colorado plays EDM, WPG, @NSH. Edmonton and Winnipeg have something to play for, Nashville may or may not.
We play @CHI, WPG, @NSH.
If Dallas wins one of their games, we would need 5 points in the last 3 games, because with one (regulation) win they would secure the tie-breaker.
If Colorado wins one, we'd have to win out to Tie them, and they'd be tied for Regulation wins. Then it goes to Regulation and OT wins, and Colorado would have more.
Winning the division is about a 1% chance right now, and getting to Second is probably a 20% chance or less. Those 3 straight losses to Vegas and Pittsburgh pretty much ended the dream. I am fully in favor of resting guys before the playoffs rather than playing against Chicago who have a bunch of young guys looking to make the team next year and might try to throw big hits or get in a fight. They've got no interest in winning the game, we can see that.
If Calgary loses tonight, and Winnipeg wins. They lock up the 8th seed, and probably won't have much to play for against the Wild or the avalanche. If that doesn't happen, they are playing to lock up the seed tomorrow night versus the Wild.

Almost thought Faber was the only player dressing for the night.
Isn’t the game supposed to be on ESPN?
Yes
…there it is.
Drafts are so damn boring. Any sport.

Yeah why did womens wnba draft run over lol
A delayed start to the Wild for the WNBA draft. On brand, at least we’re not just missing it for wrestling or bball overruns.
Faber starting, very cool.

Intermission interview with Faber. ESPN guy says Mike, Mason and Carl are sending him the cable bill?. Didn’t realize the whole junior class lived together lol
I think Brock looks good so far although Chicago is basically an AHL team.
Wild are at risk of falling to 4 and the wild card spot.
Wild are at risk of falling to 4 and the wild card spot.
Jets are too far behind. The Wild can’t finish 4th in the central. If we finish third we will face second in the central regardless of what Seattle and LA do.
Tonight's effort making me somewhat less annoyed about not having BSN.
For those that watch more Wild hockey than me, what is the projected defensive playoff roster? Would love to see Brock make it.
I am guessing Spurgeon, Dumba, Brodin, Klingberg, and Merrill are locks as long are they are healthy?
Faber looking more and more confident as the game goes on
Merrill isn’t a lock Middleton is. Top 6 is probably Spurg, Brodin, Dumba, Middleton, Klingberg and a mystery 6th. Addison not helping his case. Neither is Goligoski. Faber is better than Merrill but Merrill is ole reliable. I can see him playing in the playoffs.
Yeah I think Middleton is looking bad tonight because of his partner.

Add Middleton to the locks. The 6th guy is up in the air with Goli, Merrill and Addison in the mix. Faber is a long shot I would guess.

This is basically a glorified pre season game. Chicago would be wise to try to lose this game.

My guess is we don’t see Faber unless a few guys get dinged up.

Brodin - Dumba
Middleton - Spurgeon
Merrill - Klingberg
Goligoski - Addison

I think Faber is better than Merrill, Goligoski and Addison but if they wanna go with a proven NHL commodity I’d understand.
Merrill has never been a personal fave of mine...
The compete level will go up just a tad between this game and playing either the Avs or Stars in round 1.
Faber is competing with Klingberg and Addison for icetime. If he isn't already better than Addison, then there was no reason to sign him.For those that watch more Wild hockey than me, what is the projected defensive playoff roster? Would love to see Brock make it.

Faber has spent most of the night lost, but the speed doesn't look too fast for him so he should be able to figure it out fairly quickly.
That was an absolutely brutal power play

Right, because you can tell whether or not Brock is a better NHL player than Addison without first signing him and seeing him play against NHL talent.
Never been so lucky to take a penalty.
For those annoyed that Buccigross mentions what NHL team a player is drafted by when calling college games, he spent the entire intermission mentioning where every NHL player went to college. It appears as if it goes both ways.

Lost is a strong word. Definitely adjusting as can be expected. If Faber is lost I don’t wanna know what Addison is?
Chicago keeping their eyes on the prize down the stretch. Suddenly losing.
Wild decide this game is important.

I’m not sure of that. I think the Blackhawks took a long time realizing how bad they were going to have to be to lose this one. Could be a mixture of both.
Faber a bit stary eyed, but played solid, the kid has great wheels!
I could not believe it when he was on the ice for the games first drop of the puck
Aloha!
I could not believe it when he was on the ice for the games first drop of the puck
He was also out on a kill and 4x4.
My son already said his next jersey will be a Faber Wild jersey.
No Faber tonight.
