Looking at the playoff picture, next week's game could end up determining in or out. Best the saints and you hold h2h against both teams contending in the South.
Especially important since the saints, falcons, and bucs have six games against sub-500 teams remaining (including 3, 2, and 2 games against teams with 2 or fewer wins). Where the Vikings have four (including only one team with 2 or fewer wins)
The cowboys have four <.500 (and 2 w<3). The commanders have 2 and 0.
The 49ers are 4&0. The Seahawks are 4&1. The rams are 3&2 and are 2 games back.
interestingly, the packers might have the easiest schedule including 5&3 with one against the Vikings. The lions are at 5&2 with two games in the final three weeks vs the Vikings but are 1.5 up.
What do the Vikes have? I think
Saints (should prob win)
Broncos (DEF should win)
Then what? IIRC, it's Lions/Bears/Lions the last 3 weeks of the season, I see a 2-1 record there.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
They still have the Raiders and Bengals too, and the last three weeks is Lions-Packers-Lions.

Lions Packers Lions, ok. At least GB is at home. LAR is a "should" win. Bengals will be tough.

The Vikings *could* feasibly be 9-5 going into the Det-GB-Det finish. If Dobbs/Hall can continue to be effective and the defense continues to play well 9-5 is very doable (assuming the L @ Cincy). Win one of the last 3 and they're probably in the playoffs I figure.
Interesting stat I heard on the radio. This was the first time in nfl history that a score was 11-10 at any point in a game.
Yeah they showed that on TV right after halftime...that is kind of crazy.
I only saw bits of the last quarter or so.
Out of curiosity, how did it go to eleven?!
3 FGs and a safety.
At one point in the game, some friends and I mentioned that this was the most effed up 24-21 whatever score we've ever seen.

It's about time the Vikings did this to another team. It feels like the Vikings have gone up against replacement QBs many times over the years and lost when favored.

I had the exact same thought. It may happen with regularity year after year around the league, but when we follow only one team that shoots itself in the foot time after time, it feels like we're always on the receiving end.
Dobbs is an athlete and has an impulse to run because he has the feet for it. However, in the NFL, quarterbacks should run only when they need to keep a drive alive or have an easy path to slide down or reach the sidelines. There's too much downside risk to run, and the odds will catch up with you.
As we saw with Hall, it only takes one hit. Do they have Mullens back? The Vike's might be with only one available QB on Sunday.....or they may have 3. I wonder if they have the luxury of waiting on Mullens or if they have to go back to the well for another QB, just in case. Whoever they bring in won't have any knowledge of the playbook either. It's about time the Vikings did this to another team. In any case, they can't risk running Dobbs and they can't risk a big hit in the pocket either.
As impressive as his performance was, one concern for Dobbs is his accuracy which is abysmal career-wise, and he put some receivers in vulnerable positions vs ATL. Maybe that's something KOC and the other coaches can help him improve. Because while his carrer % isn't great (around 62%), some of what happened vs ATL could be attributed to learning the playbook on the fly.
and when he is running he carries the ball very lose and any defender can knock it out of hand
Aloha!
I think I heard he has 10 fumbles on the year so this isn’t new and he still carries the ball like that. I don’t think it’s going to change.

That KJ hit, up the middle...they ran the same play later on with a different receiver, and I was just about screaming "DIDN'T YOU LEARN FROM KJ?!" Just let the wideout hung to dry.

If Mullens or Hall aren't ready to go by Saturday I'd assume they would activate Sean Mannion from the practice squad for Sunday.
Aloha!
Joshua Dobbs doing Joshua Dobbs things!!!!!
8 for 11 - 89 yards
4 rushes for 23 yards
Vikings lead 10-3 five minutes into the 2nd quarter.
How can you not root for Josh? He is so likeable.
Chandler has a great series with a TD and a bunch of good runs and then we’re back to Mattison. I don’t get it, he has terrible vision and no top end speed but he’s a nice guy so we’re gonna keep playing him. He’s a decent backup who should be getting one series each half and a way smaller contract.
I assume that at this point Hockenson probably doesn’t need the purple jersey with how his ribs likely look.
Dobbs running ability is crazy.
Dobbs with a TD run on 3rd down shaking guys left and right!!!! #LamarJackson2.0 ?
He leads a 9 play 82 yard TD drive Vikings up 17-3. He was throwing darts on that drive.
The Vikings had 1 rushing TD in 8 games. Dobbs has two in less than a game and half.
13 for 17 - 162 yards
5 rushes for 30 yards and a TD
#1 on the Saints is not going to like film on Monday after that run.
Big Kirk fan here but he’s sacked on that play. Maybe three times. ??

Did he point to fake a defender into thinking he’s about to be blocked?
Did he point to fake a defender into thinking he’s about to be blocked?
Either that or to make him think a WR was running in behind that spot in the zone to try to keep him back in zone for a couple extra seconds
Dobbs ability to keep his eyes downfield while scrambling has got to annoy the hell out of opposing defensive backs.
DOBBS to HOCKENSON is UNSTOPPABLE!!!!! 24-3
In the two minute drill Josh leads a 7 play 76 yard TD drive in 1:31
297 total yards in the 1st half
Dobbs 18 for 22 - 220 yards 1 passing TD
Hockenson 10 catches 128 yards and a TD
Addison 4 catches 69 yards
Dobbs 6 rushes 40 yards and a rushing TD
Chandler 5 carries 31 yards and a rushing TD
So they stop the clock to determine if they should stop the clock?
I will take NFL irony for $200, Ken.
Hockenson is one tough SOB.

TJ Hockenson is a tough S of a B and he is absolutely destroying the Saints today. Love it

10 for 128 in the half, we should see a lot of Chandler in the second half.
It is unreal. Every single hit he’s taking does nothing but make bruised ribs much worse. Keeps getting up and getting back in the huddle. Then, does it again.
I watched half a quarter of game time and I am not sure The Saints even played. I saw Derek Carr basically cry though which was hilarious!
Dobbs is not pretty when he is running around but he finds the open space and just flies! The TD was sick he not only should have been sacked but the Aints had the corner before he did he just faked them enough to take the angle away. Perfection!
And Dobbs to Hockenson is just unstoppable. Imagine how open TJ will be when JJ comes back!

The catch where he got folded up on the sideline is going to wake him up late night tonight. That hurt me through the tv!

Same. I have a bad lower back that’s been bugging me a bit lately. When I saw that I went and got an ice pack.
Taylor Swift likes to date the NFL's top Tight End so Kelce is about to get dumped and replaced by TJ.
Going in today
Kelce 57 catches 597 yards 4 TDs
TJ 60 catches 547 yards 3 TDs
With what TJ did in the first half
TJ 70 catches 675 yards 4 TDs

But we are not going to win the Super Bowl so it doesn't matter. ? ?
What the team has done without Jefferson the past five games and then the past two games with their 4th string QB who was just traded here 12 days ago shows a lot about O'Connell as both a head coach and a offensive planner/play caller.
5 scores on 6 possessions today.
Vikings up 27-3 five minutes into the 3rd quarter.

I hate that we will hear that...
Sure looked like a first down to me.
Ty Chandler just has so much more explosion to his game.
Sure looked like a first down to me.
It was. Kinda surprised KOC didn't challenge but challenging the spot never seems to work for the Vikings
@handyman My response to that thinking is why do these people waste their time watching games that aren't the Championship game since according to them it is the only one that matters.
Bad things are going to happen in life so why not enjoy the good when ever it happens whether it is going to lead to a championship or not? Sports is entertainment.
What the hell was that?!
Danielle Hunter gets his helmet ripped off by the Saints LT and Hunter gets called for the penalty? OK then.
So the Saints offense line can rip Hunter's helmet off without getting a penalty? ?

You have idea how often I say all of this...
Wow, a very B1G hockey ref of a call.

Well he is do much better than them the refs are just trying to help the Aints.
Of course they can’t just make it easy.
