I don't follow real close. Is the attendance always this poor for the Gopher women?

It varies. Seems to always be especially poor the weeks of the Girls High School tournament and girls youth regionals (this weekend). Families of girl players make up a large chunk of Gopher attendance. Women’s hockey nationwide is not great. Gophers and Wisconsin are probably the only two programs that average in the thousands. Most everyone else is in the country is in the hundreds.

Um, WI seems to be over Fire Code with those numbers, unless I am missing something.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Their game vs tOSU at Wrigley Field was a home game for WisconSIN. 24788 attendance for that one.

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

Ah, skewed numbers

I'd like to see the mean attendance, then. Take out highest/lowest, and then add it up.

Averages to 2270.8, so, on average... TWO unsold seats per home game (assuming this is tickets sold, not butts in seats)

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

One always assumes tickets sold. Still impressive, though.

The Gopher’s first goal today by Natálie Mlýnková may have been the best bunt this state has seen since the days of Rod Carew.

Great goal. She was set up just like a face off.

No. I think the fact that this game was just "scheduled" on Saturday was a factor.

Playing with the Women's Pairwise predictor:

https://www.bcinterruption.com/boston-college-bc-eagles-mens-womens-hockey-ranking-calculators/2025/2/22/24370853/what-if-the-2025-ncaa-womens-hockey-tournament-pairwise-predictor

Looks like assuming we lose to Ohio State on Friday we are very anti-Colgate.  Cornell can leap over us if they win on Friday, but we would still be the #4.  But if Colgate wins the ECAC over Cornell, they both jump us and we get the #5 and hit the road to Cornell.

If Colgate loses anywhere along the line the worst it would appear we can drop is #4.

@gopherguy05

When did the women start going to the pairwise? It just wasn’t a few years ago when a committee picked UMD over the Gophers. The Gophers had all the metrics better than UMD but the community just happened to have a UMD person on it.

Keep your stick on the ice...

That was about the last year of that.  They have used the pairwise for 5 years or so now.
