My heart aches for the seniors who came back that they lost. They represented the U with pride every year. Was really wanting Heise to get it after getting snubbed for the womens Hobey… and to lose in OT to your biggest rival… that hurts.

Heise and Zumwinkle go their full college careers without titles. In my opinion, that's on the coach. And it's tough to see that getting better. Even tougher that there are at least three rivals capable of making runs. I know Minnesota was one goal away from the title game, but it feels like the start of a run of complacency for the team.
Apologies for sounding like a certain former poster. I do not intend to make a habit of this. But I feel something needs to change with this program.
Gophs got 7, but the first was the year before the NCAA started running the tournament. UMD and Wisconsin people sometimes act like it doesn't count, but UM beat the 'Dogs in the semi and went 5-0-0 versus the Badgers during the season. If they say NCAA titles then fine, UW has one more, but in national titles, we're even. If they want to play the asterisk game, UW won one during the mini season in 2021 when a bunch of programs didn't even play.WI wins 7. Breaks tie with MN.

Seriously, it's tough to win a National Championship. I get it...they lost in a tough game against a hot goalie and a pretty darn good Wisconsin team. Give'em a break I say. Hats off to the Minnesota women's team this year. I listened to every game this year (as I live out in Massachusetts). They had a great season, and I really really wanted them to win it too. Thank you Heise and Zumwinkle and everyone else on the team. For those returning next season...give'em hell!
I figure this is the best thread for this, but congrats to the Gustavus women's team on their first NC. What I didn't realize is that it was the very first Div III title for any western conference team. I would not have guessed that if asked.

My boss laughs a little about this because their coach Mike Carroll was his high school coach here at Mankato West in the mid 90's and can't believe he has the temperament to coach girls hockey. Congrats to them for sure though, Carroll has them as a perennial contender now.
