I would like to see Cale Makar in maroon and gold.
That will happen at the same time as Misa. Put the Misa nonsense to bed.

If Luke Misa plays college then there’s always a chance for Michael.
His dad played for Mankato. I’d be curious how they feel about the Gophers.Have not seen him mentioned as much as others eligible to commit on August 1st but Gentry's Ryland Rooney looks like a fast-rising prospect. Currently playing with the Long Island Gulls. Recently signed a tender with the Des Moines Buccaneers.
We should be/hopefully are going after him. Big kid for a sophomore too. Bob may want to see how he looks in juniors first, per usual lately.

Not to mention there are about 8 or 9 MN forwards his age I’d rather have
Next year’s NTDP u17 squad unofficially announced on socials:

At 1st glance, I know which player I'm rooting for the Gophers to sign in the future.
Need to do research to see if he is Farm Kid part 2.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
I would imagine Schneider and Fitzhenry are on the radar of most top schools. Staff likely all over them.
Curious who they would prioritize amongst the defenseman. Geiger seems to have the most hype, though early in development for all.

Is his dad Casey Rooney who owns Read/React Hockey?

I watched Carson Scott all season…he’s an absolute stud! Big. Mean. Nasty. Poised. And skilled.

I have reason to believe we’re the favorites for Schneider, Geiger and Scott and heavily in the mix for Fitzhenry but after last year I’ll just keep my hopes down til they actually commit. I was so convinced Berchild and Lutner were gonna be Gophers
I would consider Schneider, Geiger, and Scott a big win even without Fitzhenry. Depth of talent looking strong out of Minnesota in this class.

FWIW the only program that Schneider follows on instagram is MN.

Looks like Tate Pritchard has potentially decommitted from Mankato. Was high school teammates with Ludtke 🤷♂️
A friend of mine who works for an agency and has correctly told me several commitments before they happened has told me Mason West wont happen for us. I hope he’s wrong for the first time since Ryder Donovan but I don’t think so.

2 year USHL player, go on and bring him in....having a real nice season in Sioux City.

Roster was pretty much known already but official announcement on NTDP U17 team.

I noticed Porter Martone also follows Michigan Hockey on Instagram for what it's worth.
If it's NIL bucks at Michigan he's after, then there's no shot in hell Gavin ends up in Grand Forks
Cole Bumgarner no longer committed to the Whioux.
( He may follow a certain team we love on Insta, which usually means not a lot )

Not a banner year in the USHL. Feels he may have been an early bloomer. Curious if he ends up somewhere like UST or the like.
Why the projected #1 draft pick would choose to play in Grand Forks, ND, when there are several other blue blood programs to pick from in better locations with bigger media markets is beyond me

Who is this in reference to? McKenna?

Yes, the article above cited UND and Michigan as the most likely landing pads for McKenna, though that seems to be based on those teams wanting to have big rebounds next season after missing the tournament and not much else.

Any update on the rumors that one or both of the players who decommitted from Kato were headed to the Gophers?

Nothing official. Word was things would be quiet given circumstances, so we may not know much for a bit.
Someone probably posted this already but I see Christian Humphrey’s from Michigan is in the portal. 7th rounder with 3 years of eligibility left and seemed to produce some decent points. I don’t know anything about him but on paper he would seemingly be someone of interest.
anyone have any insights into him or his situation?

All I know is he left Michigan during the year and played in OHL. He had 33 points in 28 games with Kitchener.

For clarification the Whioux and not Sparty.
So Danny Myers can be pissed at them. Horns down

He could but it doesn’t fit the narrative.

Bummer, sounds like this was the direction he was headed from folks’ comments. But hoped that we could land both as they’re both good sized forwards.
reading the article in the herald, sure seems like his coach steered him that direction after it became an option.

Sioux City’s season is over so we may hear on Pritchard pretty soon. Assuming he may take some visits.
