Any guesses?
That seems too early.
Snuggerud
I received a PM from someone who believes Jimmy Clark is the most likely.
What was the Tweet? It now says unavailable.

Jess deleted and then posted this...another instance of him getting under Motzko’s skin???
https://twitter.com/jessrmyers/status/1345055427030085632?s=10
It's more Jess being excited that a Warroad kid is being recruited by a team he covers and not being aware of the recruiting rules. And of course UMN Compliance being what they are... I'm sure that the team SID wanted someone aware of the rules so that no one gets in trouble.
2+2= :dup:
I can't see the twitter links anymore. Is there some setting I need to change??

Finn Brink oh no here we go.
Finn Brink is from Maple Grove. I’m pretty confident he is not Andy Brink’s son.

Correct
Player: Finn Brink
Team: Osseo Maple Grove
School: Maple Grove HS
Grade: 9
Parents: Derek and Jen
One of the most dynamic players we've seen over the past two years has been Finn Brink. Brink has a great combination of oil and vinegar. He plays super fast and has just enough of an edge that makes him a challenge to stop every time he hits the ice. "When we play them (OMG), we have to know where Brink is at all times," said one Bantam AA coach.
Zam Plante? Leading the state in scoring. Know dad is Assoc. head coach at tUMD but Sandelin’s kid went elsewhere.
Pretty good player, his stats are inflated quite a bit due to Hermantown playing a PeeWee schedule so far. For them anyway.
Hermantown's schedule is a joke but he still is one of the top 5 sophs in the state, he's really good.
Likely not a ton of buzz on these boards due to Hermantown seldom (ever?) sending a player south to Mariucci. Lot of talent but has been a UMD pipeline.
Strong group of Sophmores from MN, haven’t seen them play much, but seems like a very difficult job to rank them as college prospects. Especially if you take out NTDP kids and how the HS kids will handle moving up levels. Top tier seems to be Shaugabay (no clue on spelling) Zam Plante, William Whitelaw, Jimmy Clark.
Who are top Sophomore Defenseman??

Panzer (UND commit) would be in that group as well, and If you're including guys who aren't playing MN HS, Snuggerud and Stramel are in there. I don't know if there's really a standout defenseman yet. Maybe Simon Houge, Joe Gramer, or Ty Hanson.
Not a So. but for Fr. look out for Beckett Hendrickson.

Any relation to Darby/Danny?
What about Austin Burnevik from Totino Grace? I thought I saw him listed as a top sophomore on YHH earlier in the year. He was listed at 6'1" and 160 lbs as a freashman! When he fills out he is going to have a hell of a frame for a top prospect.
And he had this nice goal last week which made ESPN's Top Ten (#3)

Darby's son.

Yep, I've already penciled him in as a UMD commit w/ the Hermantown/dad connection but I guess you never know.
His 4.29 ppg through 7 games against weak opponents is one thing but his 29pts in 22 Elite League games as a sophomore was super impressive.
Gophers must be looking for another goalie with LaFontaine done after this year. They'll need someone who can spell Moe or challenge him for the spot next year and Pichora is years away. I wonder if they're looking at Charlie Glockner or Brennan Boynton?

I would assume a transfer of some kind, like what UW did last year with Beydoun or something tied to the rule changes around this season due to Covid, could be the route they go. They should be very good next season, doubt Bob is going to want the goaltending to come down to Moe and a freshman that committed months before hitting campus. Given Moe's lack of playing time and poor numbers so far this season, I could honestly see him moving on after this season and next year the trio being a freshman, senior transfer and Close.

You might be right but I don't think it's really fair to judge Moe by his numbers this year. I think he's a very capable goalie and proved it last year when he was more of the 1B than true backup to LaFontaine and posted similar numbers to LaFontaine.

Don’t disagree at all. I do agree though that having someone on roster to push Moe and compete for the starting position would be good thing though.

Galajda is in the portal... certainly would be a good guy to have as an option.
It looks like we have shown some interest in defenseman Eric Pohlkamp from Brainerd.

He might be the best junior D man in the state so that would make sense. His brothers both played for Bowling Green so I wonder if he might be leaning that way.

Where did you see/hear that? We are thin on D recruits and he seems like a very solid one.
Puckpreps
Also saw that Jayson Shaugbay uses Jackson LaCombe’s dad as an advisor. That can’t hurt our chances of landing him.
Can probably check off Marvin and Plante as options from that list
Danny Nelson’s brother Henry is committed to Notre Dame as well.
Also read we are high on Jimmy Clark’s list.

I noticed Jimmy Clark has been playing with the U17 NTDP squad since Edina's season ended. Wonder if he'll try to join the U18 team next year.
The U17 team brought up 4-5 kids recently. My guess is he will be back at Edina next year then maybe skip his senior year.

They're both smaller guys.
We played Warroad this season, not sure if Marvin-Cordes was even the best player on his team.
IMO top targets for class of 2023 (committing starting 8/1). 1 being a target for every team in the country, and the rest having MN ties.
1. Adam Fantilli (May be eligible to commit now as a Canadian 11th grader. Brother going to, you guessed it, UM.)
2. Gracyn Sawchyn
3. Charlie Stramel
4a. Jimmy Clark
4b. Jayson Shaugabay

Yes, but I've said many times non-Minnesotans are accepted if they are potential stars like Vanek/Kessel/Haula/Ranta. Top 3 round picks or point per game players in college. We don't need non Minnesotan third string goalies and fourth liners.

But you can't then be surprised if Michigan is getting a bunch of top recruits. They are the ones out there recruiting everywhere outside of MN.
You even said Adam Fantilli has a brother at Michigan, and that may also draw him to Michigan. Not only does his brother play there, but he and his family are already familiar with the program and the coaching staff. If MN passes on the brother, because he isn't a potential star (I don't know if he is or not) then we also hurt our chances with Adam.
Your just less likely to get star recruits from elsewhere if you're not out recruiting like Michigan.
I am not saying I disagree with you either. But I am not obsessed with Michigan commits

I'm not surprised Michigan is getting a bunch of top recruits... I mentioned the brother because most people on here would have had no idea of that, including me until I checked last night.

Based on the name alone, this dude is going to UND.
They always have the weird-name guys.

I don’t think we need a lot of “top end recruits” that’s how we end up like BU and Michigan who have done absolutely nothing in terms of postseason success with those high end nhl draft picks. 1 or 2 per recruiting class is fine but in my opinion you don’t want a class of just first rounders that dip after a year.
