The Gopher defensemen scored 9 goals last season they have 8 already this season.
I don't mind Parrish on KFAN but man is he horrible calling a game.
Hey St Thomas students... chanting Sink the Boat has nothing to do with the Hockey team...
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
I don't mind Parrish on KFAN but man is he horrible calling a game.
Drink for every time "smart, simple hockey" is stated. Agree...no issue with Parrish but not the best on the call.
"At the NHL level"

Wood hits the pipe. Man he has a good shot.
I could understand 5, but would've said 2.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Gophers on a 5 minute PP. Gleason been mixing it up all weekend and gets the boot.
St. Thomas player hits Wood in the face (cross check, sort of a punch with his stick). 5 minute major and a game DQ.
C’mon when a 6’2” player is bearing down on a 5’8” player….Gleason trying to defend himself & Wood sold it well, but still, that’s a 2 objectively. In any event, Parrish is SO BAD doing the color commentary…I think he was better when still boozing! 😉 😂St. Thomas player hits Wood in the face (cross check, sort of a punch with his stick). 5 minute major and a game DQ.
St Thomas gets an unsportsmen like conduct penalty and then a St. Thomas player break his stick while trying to clear the puck.
Lamb buries a one timer on the 5 on 3.
Gophers 3-1
Hatty for Lamb!
A natural hat trick for LAMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His 3rd, 4th and 5th goals of the season.
Pour. It. On.
Rico is way past his hey day & looks like a Cheshire 🐱 to boot. I think he’s an AWFUL for St Thomas. They need a guy with strong State of MN ties as HC.
He looks like Nick Kroll's evil twin.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
In like a lion . . . Out like a Lamb! Go Brody!
A 5'8" player hitting a 6'4" player in the face/head with his stick is a clear indication of being undisciplined. He is raising his stick over his own head to hit a player in the face who is 8 inches taller then him.
Refs are taught to call it a 5 minute major when it is a hit to the head. 5-10 years ago that is a two minute penalty but player safety (trying to avoid concussions) has changed the way the game is called and it has been this way for awhile.
Don't hit players in the face/head with your stick.
@collegehockeyaddict C’mon, get serious, if Wood doesn’t (smartly) drop to the ice like he'd been hit by a .306…it’s a two minute minor…lol…Credit to Wood for selling it, Golden Globe acting performance.
Huglen with a heckuva goal!
St. Thomas flashes the glove on a nice save of the Gruba slap shot.
The St. Thomas bench penalty was a huge part in the 5 on 3 goal that put the Gophers up by two goals.
The St. Thomas team continues to lose their composure.
Great shot by Huglen.
Huglen snips another one
Gophers 5-1
The Gophers combination of speed, skill, and shooting is causing team after team MAJOR problems.
Great snipe by Huglen. Sloppy last minute D by St Thomas gave Huglen the chance & he RIPPED IT
Apparently Bulldog fans don't know the rules about hits to the head. The Refs reviewed it so they clearly got to see what happen and decided to call it a 5 major.
With the new rule they can down grade a 5 minute major to a two minute penalty after reviewing it if they decide to.
@collegehockeyaddict can’t reason with the guy, and you can’t have an opinion either.
@collegehockeyaddict Thank you Mr Peabody! You’d be singing a different tune if Moore did the exact same thing to Ratzlaff…to say that was a clear FIVE is synonymous with wearing gold shaded glasses + Wood sold it brilliantly.
The Tommies can’t skate so they have resorted to gooning.
UST can skate, but not at the D1 level. 😉
They are trying to be the little train that could.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
St. Thomas with another 5 minute major this time for cross checking Chesley in the ear.
Apparently they don't learn.
Keep crossing check guys to the head and keep getting 5 minute majors.
Gophers start the 3rd with a 5-minute PP.
Let the Bulldog whining commence.

it’s a textbook 5. Absolutely idiotic choice from Gleason and gets what he deserves with the hate. You just can’t do that anymore
Parrish agreed with it and he hates the Gophers.@collegehockeyaddict Thank you Mr Peabody! You’d be singing a different tune if Moore did the exact same thing to Ratzlaff…to say that was a clear FIVE is synonymous with wearing gold shaded glasses + Wood sold it brilliantly.
Something Parrish concurs with doesn’t have tremendous credibility…but I will stipulate that Parrish loathes the Gophers.Parrish agreed with it and he hates the Gophers.@collegehockeyaddict Thank you Mr Peabody! I’ll also stipulate that Wood does remind me of Vanek (too) he’s really skilled and just FUN to watch (his acting is outstanding too) just a well rounded terrific talent.

Huglen with a normal skill level goal for a 4th liner. 😉 😀
Love seeing Kurth and Lamb breakout this season so far.
Is anybody else thinking that this is the best gopher team since... Maybe my lifetime?
They play in waves, they create turnovers like I've never seen another gopher team, the D are spectacular... They just create chance after chance all game long, all 4 lines.
Only question mark really is goalie. I love the way these guys play the game.

Hit straight to the head, it is a text book major penalty. Trying to argue it should have been 2 makes you look totally clueless.
Don't know what decade you're living in but it sure as shit ain't the 2020's.
It wasn't obvious. Tough argument for a 2, but a valid argument.

I've been watching Gopher hockey since I was a teenager which means 35+ years and includes the 1989 Gopher team that lost to Harvard in OT. Robbie Stauber was and probably still is my all time favorite Gopher.
I am on record as saying the team two years ago is the best Gopher team I've seen including the back to back National Championship teams of 2002 & 2003.
I said last season that I thought this year's D men group will match up well with the team from two years ago. So far this year's team is definitely deeper at forward. No they don't have Cooley but this team just comes at you line after line.
It is still early in the season and every week we will continue to learn more about this team but they could be.
I haven’t been able to watch the games but they have only played low end teams . They should have the speed advantage in every game and speed is going to give you puck possession and scoring chances. Is anybody else thinking that this is the best gopher team since... Maybe my lifetime?

St. Cloud is 6-1 this season and the Gophers went to their barn and dominated them 5-1. Yes it was an exhibition game so it doesn't count but that doesn't change the fact that Gophers dominated a good team on the road.
Through 6 games the Gophers have out scored their opponents 33-12 and Snuggy has only scored one goal. 😏
Most important outcome of this series?
Escaped (as far as I know) without any injuries.

Its way to early to even speculate...but no I don't think this team is the best even since I started watching. ('98)
Lmfao I’m late but are we really arguing if a cross check to the neck that takes a helmet off is a 5 or not. That’s incredible
In 10 of the 18 periods the Gophers have played they have scored 2 or more goals (two goals 5 times, three goals 3 times, four goals 2 times).
They have only been shut out in 2 of the 18 periods.
Nice, easy sweep. Love how this team is looking so far and the forward depth with the lack of a weaker 4th line is huge.
I see anything but a rivalry developing with St. Thomas. You can play like North Dakota against us all you want but when you have B and C-level players and get outscored 13-3 in one series, it isn't going to amount to much. And as others have said, you need meaningful playoff games to build rivalries and that isn't happening anytime soon.
Also, I still and always will dislike Mark Parrish. What a hack.
