As College Hockey Addict said he had a good tournament last year, rather surprising he was cut.
I do get the Willis Reed reference, good one very iconic.
Bucky beats Michigan 4-0, 3 straight games without scoring a goal for the ugly helmets!
Ziemer 23 seconds in!!!!!!
Ziemer opens the scoring. Electric start.
GOAL!
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Absolutely on fire a minute in. Awesome to watch.
BOOOOOOOM
Snuggy came out flying and was a big factor on that goal.
Right after Ziemer scores Snuggy jumps up in excitement (can see it in the video). That is kind of interesting for a goal in the first period. I suspect this could be a case of Snuggy knowing that getting off to a good start, scoring first is big playing short handed tonight. Plus I take it as a sign of the energy, excitement he and the team has brought to this game.
Looking good so far!
That was too close to whistle that offside in my humble opinion. Glad it didn’t lead to a goal
The lack of consistency on calling/not calling interference when a forward chips the puck into the offensive zone and defensemen interferes/holding the forward gets on my nerves.
Incredible speed from Moore. Great finish by Lamb.
Sparty ties it at 1
But a few minutes later LAMB!!!!!!!!! puts the Good Guys back ahead.
I'm sorry but if you skate with your head down and forward, it shouldn't be a penalty if someone hits you in the head. You should have your head up all the time.
no way that’s a game. Dammit man
Pretty soft game call to me. Doesn’t follow through at all but a very dumb hit you can’t make
Michel gets a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. The Gophers are now down another forward for the rest of the game.
If Michel's hit is a five minute penalty, Stramel needs five minutes and a GM for that too.
HOW
These refs have made some interesting calls/non calls this period. 🤔
That's as obvious a head hit as you can get. You can't cut across the front of the player and miss the shoulder and hit the head first.
Um…what?I'm sorry but if you skate with your head down and forward, it shouldn't be a penalty if someone hits you in the head. You should have your head up all the time.
The refs have no eyes. Can they REALLY not see him grab the puck off the top of the net? Seriously, this is ridiculous.
Clearly a high stock to get the puck

It was below his shoulder. They said it was waived off because the puck “came to rest” on top of the net. Sure OK I’ll take it.
Should have never been called a goal on the ice. Terrible from referee

You would think when you only have 10 forwards that maybe you don’t risk getting booted on a worthless neutral zone check.
Ziemer hits the cross bar.
Down to 8 Forwards, wow.

The high stick rule is based on the cross bar height (4 feet) not the shoulders of the player.
I'm not aware of any rule that should have made that a no-goal.
Inexcusable penalty for the gophs to take there
I'm not aware of any rule that should have made that a no-goal.

Unless the puck goes into the net then its shoulder height, we went thru all this last year. Unless that dude was about 5’4” it was not played into the net with a high stick. They said it “came to rest” on top of the net which is apparently the rule. Never heard that but OK.

The refs didn't call it when the Michigan State defensemen did this to Ziemer early in the 2nd period but now it is called when Chelsey does it to a Michigan State forward and Sparty scores on a 4 on 3 power play to take the lead 3-2.
Was the unsportsmanlike penalty on Snuggs for embellishment? I mean, he took one to the chops. I guess he should have acted better… laid there for 30 seconds, got up slowly and slowly skated to the bench. Sounds like we need to practice getting cross checked in in the face more.

Looksike that's new for this year.
Yup. I was unaware until they started talking about it and I looked it up.ShouldersThe refs have no eyes. Can they REALLY not see him grab the puck off the top of the net? Seriously, this is ridiculous.

Also looked up the "puck unplayable" rule from above. It's not in the NCAA book. Im fairly certain that Sparty goal should've counted
The Refs and Dylan aren't seeing eye to eye on hits tonight.
Are the refs going to call this 5 minutes?
A cross check to Lamb's back from behind into the boards.
2 things illegal the last few years:
1. Scoring on a breakaway or penalty shot.
2. Stopping a breakaway
