While the scoring has subsided...watching the team play solid defense still and deny Michigan any easy looks is just delightful!

I have downloaded the Fox Sports App. It shows a million college basketball games and some NHL games, but doens’t seem to recognize the existence of college hockey. If I search for the gophers I get a link to the football team. If I search for hockey I only get NHL. I’ve scoured the schedule and don’t see tonight’s game listed.
Replying to myself before disappearing: FS1 schedule says the game is tonight, but the Fox Sports App doesn’t list it.
I’m 90% sure that after the game is over it will be uploaded as a *replay only* on the B1G app. I subscribe there so I’ll watch then.

We haven’t exactly had a gauntlet of a schedule thus far and I feel the team has tended to look at the expectations on paper and not necessarily play to our full potential. We expected the ugly helmets to be a challenge and they rose to that challenge tonight. I hope this gives them the drive and confidence they need to continue playing like this.
Sure, maybe it’s my maroon and gold colored glasses, but this was a great test, and I think they aced it. Of course our opponents will not lay an egg every night, but it was awesome to see this kind of response in what I would argue has been the biggest game of the year thus far.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the makeup of this team an extremely lot. But we haven’t seen them put together a full game like tonight where they showed they could curbstomp the #6 team in the country and their biggest league rival. I’m also not seeing how MI is ranked that high. Not based off the score but they are far from the offensively gifted team we are used to seeing from MI. We dominated possession the first 2 periods and MI struggled to get out of their zone with possession. That said, they can’t be this bad…I mean 6 goals and 2 funnel chants in the first 2 periods? I guess we’ll see Sat night.
We just did put together a full game and curb-stomp a good team, and hopefully they realize this is something they are capable of continuing! We just needed to play someone big enough to bring out the beast. I really think this is what we are made of and it isn’t just a one time thing - but I guess time will tell…
MI probably isn’t this bad, but I enjoy making them think they are and hope we do it again tonight. 😁
Finally watched the replay and that was an absolutely clinical performance where they did all you can ask for and then some. Greta start with all the possession and after a few good scoring chances they finally broke through and the flood gates opened. Wood, Snuggy, and Huglen really stood out. I have zero complaints and hope Rinzel is good too go and Chesley doesn’t get any additional discipline from the league, which I kinda doubt.

The passing, and especially the quick decision-making that was part of it, really stood out last night. To me, that showed the intensity level as much as anything and was a key ingredient in the curb stomp.
IiRC in the big tournament game with them last year we were puck chasing in our own end a lot and they created a lot of turnovers when we tried to break out. Last night we played like the team with speed creating space they couldn’t cover and puck movement was sharp. Gophers brought their game and as bob said we came ready to play. “That game” is unstoppable this team looked amazing last night.
