That sweep sure made the drive home much easier. UMD has a very good 1st line, it's just the rest of the lines don't match up. Does anyone know why they didn't try harder to keep Blake Biondi, he was a Mr. Hockey and always gave the Gophers fits.
Question for trivia fans, when was the last time the Gophers swept up in Duluth? And how did that season turn out?
Fall of 2011. That team won the MacNaughton Cup and made the Frozen Four.
Saturday was perfect. Gopher sweep and the Badgers and Fighting Hawks lost.

All I know is I can’t wait for that to never get called in the NCAA tourney.Ok I might have my gopher glasses on, but that also doesn't look like a penalty at all lol. They're holding wood on every play behind the play and never called but that one is. Idk man
I assume you guys were talking about the "interference" along the boards? If so, I was really upset at that call. It's clutch and grab hockey that never gets called in a million years even though it probably should.
pick a GD rule and stick with it.

Rinzel getting picked in the middle of the ice and getting called for interference was far worse of a call. I do wish they’d call the obstruction on dump ins more consistently though. Either you call it every time or not at all: was a very weird spot in the game to decide it was a penalty for the first time
This is where I'm at. If I had my choice, the Rinzel call against the wall WOULD be called consistently, all year long, in all conferences AND in the tournament. Of course, if they called it the way I wanted, the Gophers would have been on a PP for about 30 minutes on Friday. The problem is when it's very inconsistently called (such as this weekend), where somehow it's the faster, more skilled team that gets called, while the slower team that's clutch-and-grabbing all weekend is allowed to get away with it to keep the games close. All I know is I can’t wait for that to never get called in the NCAA tourney.Ok I might have my gopher glasses on, but that also doesn't look like a penalty at all lol. B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
@gator the slowdown between Stacy and Wyoming and all the frontage road traffic there is for the pinehaven farm. Still a zoo as we drove by not too long ago.
Friends were going to try and go this weekend but with the long lines and $22 a head just to get in (plus fees for the activities inside) they decided against it.
Sundays on 35s are not the most fun activity of the weekends up north. 😂
The rest of the weekend however was stellar! Reminded me of the good ‘ol days of Gopher sweeps and good times in Duluth with a full weekend. Great weather, love all the cider/beer/food options up on superior street - beats hangovers from pitchers of kamikazes at the garden; although some of those weekends were ones we’ll never forget! (At least the parts we remember.) 😂
Go Gophs!
