I actually love the Thu-Sat split. Why? Tyson fight on Friday. 😉
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
So @the-rube likes to watch a senior citizen box. Does the preliminary fight include a grandma fighting? 😉
I just wanna see Jake Paul get his face punched in. 😉

Only scouting report I can give from the Kato series they had with the Beavers is that the goalie is good. Bemidji is who we think they are and always will be.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
Will Pahlsson out, I’m hoping to see Moore back with Snuggerud to get him going.
Kurth-Clark-Wood
Ziemer-Moore-Snuggerud
Hendrickson-Huglen-Lamb
Falloon(I think he’s back?)-Mittelstadt-Nevers
Like those lines. Oliver needs to get it going.

He’s getting his chances, just a little snake bit. Two posts against Penn St and a couple breakaways vs Wisco. I’d be more worried if he’s going missing every game.

No points in the last 6. Really need to get him back on the scoresheet in some way
Hes played the majority of the season with Hendrickson and Ziemer, who are great players, but are also freshmen in the first month of their careers. We all know how it takes freshmen a little time to get acclimated and become consistent. Hopefully they link Ollie back with Snuggerud and he gets on the scoresheet again.
From Bob's show this week.
Pahlsson will be out until the 2nd half. Thomas and Falloon will be evaluated later this week to see if they are available this week.
Bob said one of the centers was playing through something on Friday, (upper body)so it affected the draws. Felt better on Saturday and it showed. ( I'm assuming Clark )

then i'd envision it must be a broken collar bone. only benefit of that is he can continue to work the legs reasonably well to keep them somewhat in shape. he was really coming on/impressing early so hopefully not too big a setback for him
It could be a broken collarbone, but also could be an AC Joint separation of his shoulder. Hopefully not a torn labrum dislocated shoulder because that (ultimately) requires surgery to repair. Broken collarbone is preferable of these 3 potential upper body injuries. From Bob's show this week.

@bearpaw28 actually an AC separation (shoulder separation) is by far the best. Collarbone is out for 3-4 months and shoulder dislocation can try to play but would likely be surgery either now or end of season

Might explain why Michel dressed for warmups on Friday.
collarbone is usually 6-12 weeks pending on the alignment and how fast you heal and the good thing is once it's healed there really isn't anything you have to worry about going forward. AC separation he could start playing way faster than that so would surprise me to see them say automatically he's out til the 2nd half.
Torn labrum they could try see if it heals on it's own if its really small. just didn't look like how he reacted but would depend on what part he tore exactly. would be more worrisome though as there would be quite a bit of rehab and such with it.
if it's just a shoulder dislocation, you just pop it back in and harness/brace it for the future as its susceptible to happen again. I get what you're trying to say and maybe that's what happened live, but clearly something is broken or torn based on the out until the 2nd half.
Thomas and Falloon will be out this weekend.

Nick Michel time this weekend
Seems likes a long time ago when the concern was how to find time for all the forwards.
It's hard to keep a lot of depth in this Transfer Era.Seems likes a long time ago when the concern was how to find time for all the forwards.
Lines I saw this week:
Wood-Clark-Kurth
Ziemer-Moore-Snuggerud
Lamb-Huglen-Hendrickson
Michel-Mittelstadt-Nevers
Begley
Koster-Rinzel
Mittelstadt-Gruba
Whipple-Chesley
Rud
----
Falloon did skate a bit after the team finished up their practice.

Just to clarify is Begley listed above with the forwards or defensemen? Another way of asking the same thing has Begley been getting some time in practice playing forward?
I miss the USCHO game threads for beaver weekend. Juvenile? Yes! But very fun.
Wishing we had Pitlick still. He'd be a slight upgrade from Michel.
@eric-vegoe thanks for sharing.
stinks losing anyone but our lines still look pretty solid. Time for Oliver to find his groove, Hendy to get something rolling etc.

Moore could help himself get going by pushing the puck deep when he doesn't have a clean zone entry.
He loses the puck too many times high in the offensive zone. Sometimes when the play isn't there, dump it and chase. I'd rather risk losing the puck behind the other team's net than at the blue line.
It seems like the fastest players always have to learn this when they start college. Snuggy had this issue as a freshman and has come around. It's Moore's turn to adopt this strategy and quit forcing plays.
@streakygopher This is a symptom of being able to skate like Logan Cooley but lacking his other high end skills. Moore needs to stay through his junior year - PERIOD.

Begley was getting some work with the forwards. I get the sense he will be the extra skater to be the 7th D/13th F at the same time.
Also @bearpaw28 I agree Oliver Moore needs work on how to use his speed on entries. He's got the space, just needs to figure out how to use it at this level. This is a huge year for him and a huge chance maybe getting back on the pp with Snuggy/Wood/Rinzel.
@bearpaw28 Unless Chicago is displeased with how he’s developing, he’ll be back next year. Almost no chance he’s cracking the nhl lineup right now especially with how they’re currently built

Thank you. Having a defensemen/Begley get some work with the forwards makes sense to me. I can definitely see him getting a few shifts on the 4th line depending on how Michel does playing his first game at the D1 level.
There is also the possibility that coach decides to focus on giving the play time to the top 11 forwards. Each of the past two Saturdays he has to do that after the Snuggy DQ two weekends ago and the Pahlsson's injury last weekend. Playing 11 forwards (rather than 12) does cause issues with needing to mix and match lines a lot so we will see what option coach goes with.
Serratore teams are tough to play against sure but still, the talent gap is too large. Gotta be a win, especially at home.
Ideally Wood gets going too, his stats are obviously pretty good on the year but the last four games he's been kinda quiet. Not to single him out by any means the team as a whole was inconsistent to say the least during that stretch.
Bout what we expected. Congrats to Nick Michel for making his Gopher debut at the ripe young age of 25. Never give up on your dreams kids!
Think we start the Michel line so he can be announced? Would be a good move to me
Chat is going as usual.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
And a special on the North Stars after the game on the same channel.

Great pass by Snuggerud to Ziemer to make it 1-0.
Lamb. PPG. 2-0.
7 minutes into the game both Michel and Begley have played on the the 4th line.
Gophers lead 2-0
Shots on goal are 8-1
Ziemer is such a well-rounded hockey player. I can see why he was captain of the USNTDP U18s when he was there.
The Lamb goal was a power play goal.
The Gophers have scored on 4 straight power plays.
The Beavers get a power play tip goal.
2-1
Ollie gets a tip goal
3-1
Totally forgot the game was today lol, I’ll record and watch the last two periods later but so far so good! Much better start than some of the recent games.

My aunt worked for the North Stars.
On her first day on the job Norm Green asked her to take his two small dogs outside (he brought them into the office a lot). Since it was her first day she figured she couldn't say no but noticed they weren't on leashes so she said "Don't they need leashes to go outside?" Norm responded no they will be fine.
The minute she takes them outside they start running around out of control including all over the Met Center parking lot.
When they were running around and wouldn't listen to her she got really worried they were going to get run over or run away. That would not have been a fun conversation to have with owner on your first day on the job.
Long story short she had a HELL of a time getting them back inside.
True Story.
The Beavers score on a break away to cut the lead to 3-2.
But no worries when you can throw out the following goal scoring line
Johnny Mitts from Nick Michel
4-2
A point for Michel! Awesome.
4-2 after two periods
Shots on goal Gophers 33-9 (17-6 in the first, 16-3 in the second)
