We have almost the worst announcers now! Ben Clymer is the worst! He tries to use as many polysyllabic words as possible…. Mind you, I didn’t say he uses them correctly, just continually. He blathers on and on about subjects that have nothing to do with the game at hand. During a recent game he was going on and on about his thoughts of another league at another level. Meanwhile the puck went from one end of the rink to the other twice. A major penalty was called and the refs were reviewing it before he realized something was going on. He mentioned it but said he’d come back to it when he finished his story. Never did try to figure out what happened in front of him! And for the kids at home (one of his favorite segways) Clymer is a self absorbed intellectual wannabe. Don’t be Ben. Unless you want to orate didactic prose effervescently into the broadcast ether profusely ad infinitude. And by the way Ben, the slot, the crease and center ice are already defined areas - no need to call them ‘goal crease area’, ‘the slot area’, and ‘the center ice area’…. Never let it be said Clymer didn’t use fifty words where five would do.
He had a good one last week when he said a player got a penalty for “a pair of minutes”
