How do you not call interference on that?!?
End of 3, tied at 4.

So 37 uncalled UMass penalties, a weird we don’t let soulie put on a fucking skate lace, a goal we scored on ourself and a Jimmy rally. What did I miss here in the 3rd?
ESPN booth trashing the refs tell you all you need to know when they’re generally the worlds most east coast biased crews
UMass 3rd goal was a double deflection and the 4 goal was an own goal?
Just stupid ass terrible luck.

You make your own luck...
UMass second goal had a crosscheck, high stick, and trip all in one.

raycroft called it about exactly as it was.
it’s just embarrassing officiating and raycroft usually shits on us and is willing to bury Minnesota hockey for the east coast
Credit where credit is due. UMass came to play and we sat on a lead. But yeah, I don’t know how you don’t call a penalty on the second goal for UMass or give Souly a couple of minutes to simply get his lace fixed. Refs just making it up as they go along? Like the espn booth has said multiple times, “it’s just curious”.
Ollie with a face off win and Snuggy does what does he does. Moore is 18-8 on faceoffs.
Not allowing Souli to fix his equipment was a ridiculously stupid decision. I hate to complain about referees but come on in that moment in the tournament?
Did they mainly hurry Liam because it was an icing? And they thought he was delaying on purpose? Absurd he didn’t get a couple minutes.
Were these refs born in Grand Forks, raised in Madison and went then to college at Umass? Or just absolutely criminally incompetent?

agreed. If it’s a clear post icing delay or him just saying it’s a skate blade, sure fine. But it’s a clear broken lace with an easy fix. It’s 2 fucking minutes. It’s some dip shit ref thinking he’s more important and you ask both coaches and they 100% would be fine with that for the other team.
do think Bob should’ve used the timeout but in all honesty, he should not have been required to. It’s just awful awful awful officiating
The good news is they're still in it and have a chance to not let their overall positive play go to waste.

And it shouldn't have been called icing to begin with.
Just heard it’s an ECAC crew with one guy who used to be a HE ref. Ok this makes more sense now
Coughing up the lead was self inflicted. They tried protecting a lead...again. Bob calls the shots.
This team has never been known to play that kind of game but damned if they weren't trying in the most important period of their season.

these guys have been absolutely terrible. The entire game. I mentioned to my wife all the way back into the first that these guys seem sloppy as hell. Between skating ability, control of the game, and just general positioning.
Now that we're into OT with an entire period of whistle swallowing, it's clear these guys should stick to sections. Maybe they can work the local PD/FD game with some practice.

The fix is in 🤣
This game would probably be entertaining to a non-partial observer 😰Motko otsmarts himself again. Just like Tampa.
Not over yet...Jimmy wants to win
I didnt have a ton of faith in this team to begin with but 🤣 what a weird game.
Another non call another goal. Fuck these refs in tournament hockey
these refs should never ref another game in college again
What a joke. A stolen game by the refs.
Suniev 5-4, OT GWG.

Un fucking believable
That is what you get for lackluster play. I thought we were going to win after the second. I guess it serves me right.
The season had some fun games and some heartbreaks.
seems about eight
What a fucking disgrace.
That crew should never see the ice again. Absolutely disgusting
The refs non calling blatant penalties is one thing. But the Gophers don’t HAVE to immediately let in a goal, do they?
I know we’re never supposed to blame the refs, but it’s really really hard not to blame the refs on this one . I just don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this one.
And I don’t know whether Bob and the current players have gotten over two years ago, but I sure haven’t – and so it looks to me like they are not playing to win, but playing afraid to lose.
Seems about right
The refs got the ending they wanted.
Hard work will beat talent, if talent doesn't work hard.
What an absolute horseshit no call, typical swallow a whistle in overtime but changes the game by not. F this I’m just pissed

The refs non calling blatant penalties is one thing. But the Gophers don’t HAVE to immediately let in a goal, do they?
This team did...
Yes the Gophers went into a shell, which is a horrible strategy. But holy crap! I don’t know how the NCAA can be happy with these refs. Allowing one team to commit penalty after penalty and call nothing!! An absolute disgrace.
Refs: We aren't going to make a call and decide the game.
Me: Hmmmm do you think that not making a call might decide the game? 🤔
Sure the gophers should have held on to the lead, but the refs made this just not fun to watch.
Man that was about as blatant a trip as the one before their second goal.
Coughing up the lead was self inflicted. They tried protecting a lead...again. Bob calls the shots.

Again.

It's just so, so predictable. It really is.
And I don’t know whether Bob and the current players have gotten over two years ago, but I sure haven’t – and so it looks to me like they are not playing to win, but playing afraid to lose.
Exactly this. You have one of the nation's top three offenses at your disposal and go into a shell. Suddenly your 2 goal lead is a 1 goal lead and then, no matter how much more talent you may have than your opponent, who finished sixth in their conference, then you leave yourself susceptible to a crazy-ass deflection or an own goal. Or both. Maybe next time try to create a 3 or 4 goal cushion and see how that protects you against unforeseen weirdness instead of getting outshot 16-7 in the third when you're trying to actually win and elimination game.
Hate to bag on Snuggy but he let his guy go on the GWG.
I get it, you don’t want to decide games. I get it, you want to let play on the ice be the dictating factor. I get it, you don’t want to be calling everything.
But instead, you didn’t call penalties, including 2 that directly led to goals. Instead you chose to insert yourself to demand play take placr at your pace for a clear equipment issue.
there’s literally no way to justify the sequence of how they chose to call the game. Theres a reason the ref looked sheepish as fuck pointing for the final goal. There will be zero accountability but for fucks sake have some pride in what you do and enjoy your drive home and know you just devastated every single player on that roster with an egregiously awfully called game.
The refs non calling blatant penalties is one thing. But the Gophers don’t HAVE to immediately let in a goal, do they?
It a lot easier to score when you can trip one of the defensemen.
Are the Gopher forwards suppose to stay behind their own defensemen in case he gets tripped?
This team reminds me of the Parise UND teams...
I’m actually in disbelief. I’m just sitting looking at a blank wall. To see it end that way is just unfathomable. It is so so so bad
