Even at 23 years old, tearing the plastic off of a new game is still awesome
Fuck that. I'm almost 30 and it still brings a smile to my face. That will likely never change.
Tecmo Bowl for the Nintendo was the shit "back in the day" mine still works too. :good2:
Leaded solder, no need for a massive power supply, and better construction.
Day off for Veteran's Day, so I picked up Assassin's Creed: Unity.
Best looking game I've seen on XB1/PS4. Visually fantastic.
I have an All-Minnesota Gopher team on NHL15. Also have 2 lines of Gophers in my AHL team.
So...I've become hooked on Destiny. I'm a massive fan of the "Battlefield" series (big enough that BF3 remained in my PS3 from its launch until today). Destiny on PS4 is good enough to pull me away from Battlefield 4.
If any GPLers are looking to team up on the Vault of Glass or the weekly Nightfall, it would be great to connect.
My PSN ID is southtexgopher. I'm currently running with a level 25 Warlock with two legendary weapons and a couple of pieces of legendary armor.

But is the game any good? Reviews were rough on it.
Sounds like PES has surpassed FIFA again. Also, the first person view on GTA looks EPIC.

Yeah AC unity got hammered in the reviews, seems like most problems can be resolved by future patches. For some reason I can never get into the AC series. The games look like fun, but I tend to lose interest quickly.
Fifa 15 is the best sports game on PS4. It's amazing how fluid it plays compared to NHL or Madden. If you're a fan of EPL then Fifa should be your choice since they have the licences for all teams and stadiums.
I only played the PES demo, but I still prefer Fifa. Fifa has much better presentation and the gameplay is slightly better IMO. PES does seem to be gaining ground after 2014 was a major step back.
Wish I would of waited to play GTA until it came out for PS4. Don't think it's worth the money for a second playthrough for better graphics and new POV.
If you're a fan of RPGs, Dragon Age is getting fantastic reviews. It's one of those games where the choices you make matter. Choices you made in the previous two games carry over. However, if you didn't play either or don't have the save files, there is a walkthrough that let's you make them before playing.

Do you/did you play soccer? Back when PES owned FIFA on the PS2, I think a lot of people that haven't played a ton wouldn't notice the small things that made it the best.
I agree on GTA. I don't have a PS4 yet, but if I did I just don't know if I'd buy the game again.

And Re: FIFA/PES, I haven't played PES that much, but with FIFA's new presentation, all the licenses (having all the EPL stadiums is super cool), and FUT, put FIFA over the top for me.
I know people say the AI in PES is better, but you can mitigate some of the AI issues that FIFA has with sliders, I have mine playing pretty good.
You've played the PES that just came out last week?

I was just talking about the series' in general.

Played soccer when I was a kid, but decided to play football instead. I think my body wishes I wouldve stayed with soccer.
PES was definitely the better series for a good portion of their life span. Fifa in the past has been a turbo fest and their was no need to be strategic. Over the past few years Fifa has improved and you actually see set pieces and using turbo too often quickly gets you in trouble.
Adjusting sliders and team tactics allows for more variety between teams, but Fifa still needs to improve in pace of play.
Most people don't have time to play full 90 min matches and im not sure there is even an option to do so. This means the game will get sped up to some degree.
I know we've had this discussion, too. I just saw the PES 2015 reviews today, which is why I brought it up. Some pressure on EA will be good for everyone.
For sure. I wish EA still had a competitor against their hockey game!

Time to bring back NHL Hitz!!

This x1000. This year was sooooooo disapointing, especially on the PS4. OTP is a joke. You can't play with a friend and play against others online. Online versus seems to have some serious lag problems I don't experience in any other online game. Checking is extremely overpowered. It's just a sad excuse for a hockey game.
Winning Eleven 7 was the greatest soccer game ever.

Winning Eleven was the precursor to PES, right?
It's the same thing. It used to have two different names depending where you bought it.
I'm pretty sure we've had the WE/FIFA discussion here before...
WE9 for PS2 was awesome, but FIFA 14 for PS3 is incredible.
(and yes, I did play soccer throughout all my youth)

Play 15 on XB1/PS4. It's pretty awesome
Here in PH it's Winning 11. Curious about getting the 2014 version as it's only about $11 for the PS3.

It's cheap here, too, but it seems 2015 is a big step up. I'm probably going to order the PS3 version of 2015 tonight. I can report back after a while.
I held off on PES for now as I've just been playing the demo.
I'm debating Wal-mart's PS4 deal. $450 for the console, GTA V (already have on PS3), Last of Us (have never played on PS3), and two games. Unfortunately the only two games I can think of so far are FIFA and PES, and I think I would regret buying similar games.
If I think of the above deal relative to eBay's $330 console deal, each game would be $30 which is not THAT great of a deal. Maybe that's the better deal.
GTA V, Last Of Us, and 2 games of your choice? 450 bucks for the console + 4 games? That's a hell of a deal, I'd jump all over that.
Is that online?!? Fuck it. I'll buy that shit.
Looks like online only, which is actually better. http://www.ign.com/wikis/black-friday-cyber-monday/Best_Gaming_Deals_of_2014
Oh man. Talk about incredible.
I'll have some major thinking to do tomorrow and Wednesday.
I don't think you could find those games brand new for anything close to 30 bucks each?
Nothing on walmart yet...
Did you notice the choice of two games isn't totally open? I would probably just do Madden and FIFA, so I'm still tempted.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/40635882?www=true&productRedirect=true
Yeah. I plan to stay up and get that.
I mean, I just got back from an 8:30 and 10:30 pair of soccer games and haven't eaten yet so I can wait up.
So I assume this means the deals are going to be up at 2? PST and whatnot?
What the fuck walmart? Out of stock?! It never even went on sale.
Some things are starting to go live
Best Buy PS4 bundle is live
I went for it. I got the two games I wanted on the Walmart deal for less than $50 combined.
What the fuk Sony? The PS4 can't play video or mp3 files??! Are you fucking kidding me?
I go to load all of my music on to play and I come to find out the goddamn most powerful console this God forsaken company has ever released and I can't play an mp3?
Guess that means I won't be able to load all my TV shows either. What a joke.
Does the PS4 have a music app? I was messing around with the XB1 music app and you can pretty much play any song you want through that.
$50/year
50 bucks additional?? Or do you not have an online subscription for the PS4? IIRC PSN costs money now?
That's not the point. My fucking old ass Garmin and ancient Palm Pilot can play mp3s out of the box.
TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO.
And I've always loaded every episode of House and futurama onto my consoles since I watch them so often. Hell, they got me through my six-month period where I didn't have cable or Internet. Now I can't? Give me a break Sony.
@gopherguy13 wrote:

Not sure. Could be included with PSN+ but I don't think I'm going to pay for it.
Well, to solve the House and Futurama problem, get Netflix! You can watch both those to your heart's content!
edit: but I get what you're saying. I'm not sure if you can load music and movies onto the XB1 or not.
I have that. However, intarwebs can be spotty and I prefer my rips of my OWN DVDs over Netflix's copies.
I just don't get why something that has been standard on everything with a computer chip for a decade wasn't included.

If you load your music onto a usb drive you should be able to play on the ps4. Nor sure about video.
