You know Pat won't pass up a chance to take a shot at PJ or Gopher Hockey.

I'm guessing Billy G will be high on his hit list, too.

How would the Vikings coaches be turkey of the year? That would be so dumb.

It will be PJ unless he wants to be original for once.

I don't think Phil will win it because Reusse likes to swerve since we all expect it to be Phil Fleck. He will be at the table though. He really likes Motzko, so he won't win it, but may be at the table as well.

-- Timberwolves players who punched the wall and teammate

-- Ben Johnson & Gopher Basketball

-- Minnesota Wild

* My offbeat finalist--- Ballys Sports North

BSN might not be far off. We all knew what the Wild were gonna be (for the most part) with the salary cap, etc. The other two you mentioned are not a big enough impact to their team, in the grand scheme of things.

Hard to be anyone wolves related with how good they look this year.

have a hard time seeing Bob given it was still a runner up finish

BSN is a fun choice

PJ and Ben are both fair, but could see if going Coyle given he hired and extended both of them.

I think PJ is too obvious..and I think he’s done him before. Gopher hockey may get some ribbing but at least they were successful. My guess is the Big Ten West.

Congrats to the MN Wild. Well deserved!

The rips on PJ at the end were pretty dang good.

I know Reusse is a lightning rod for some, but I have always enjoyed his Turkey of the Year columns. I can't argue with his reasoning with this years winner and taking a shot at Phil without saying his name is also great.

I'll go a step further. I like his columns even beyond TOTY

That's his job, to get people talking about his columns.

To take a snippet from "Private Parts," the Howard Stern movie:

  • Researcher: The average radio listener listens for eighteen minutes. The average Howard Stern fan listens for - are you ready for this? - an hour and twenty minutes.
  • Pig Vomit: How can that be?
  • Researcher: Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."
  • Pig Vomit: Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?
  • Researcher: Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
  • Pig Vomit: But... if they hate him, why do they listen?
  • Researcher: Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Great column!  The winner (and the bonus winner at the end) are well deserved.  Never retire, Patrick.
