I'll have to take your word for it, you'll be unsurprised to find that I never had any, nor did I watch the show.  But, I learned my lesson a few weeks back about the themes on Thursday, so the "Pony" part made it a pretty easy guess.

Zwak has it.  My Blue Heaven was 1990, and none of the main actors were in Goodfellas (or Casino) at all, plus it was directed by Herbert Ross, not Martin Scorsese.  DeNiro and Pesci, on the other hand, were either in the Mafia or connected for Casino (which came out in 1995).

My Blue Heaven IS still connected, as it is based on Henry Hill (as is Goodfellas), but Casino is widely thought of as the successor (especially with Scorsese running both)... with "The Irishman" being thought of as a third movie in the "Trilogy" from Scorsese (gangster focused, DeNiro, Pesci and Pacino)

The question is totally messed up, then. Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci in "Casino") was based on Anthony "The Ant"* Spilotro, who was part of The Outfit out of Chicago, and had nothing to do with the NY Families. Therefore, no sequel.

*The Ant got his nickname from an FBI investigator, who called him a "pissant." Needless to say, the newspapers couldn't print that word at the time, and shortened it to "The Ant."

I have multiple books on all of the real life "families," organizations, and people involved in the two movies.

My Blue Heaven is the sequel to Goodfellas, as that is what Hill's life was after he ratted (more or less)

Also, Nicky was LESS psycho than the real life Anthony. That's insane.

The question is very straightforward.   What 1995 film (Casino - 1995, My Blue Heaven - 1990)  is considered the unofficial sequel to “Goodfellas,” because it featured the same director (Goodfellas/Casino - Martin Scorsese, My Blue Heaven - Herbert Ross), the same two lead actors (Goodfellas/Casino - Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci, My Blue Heaven - Steve Martin and Rick Moranis), and took place in a similar setting (ok, this one is up in the air, Las Vegas casinos vs assorted NYC locations)?

Plus, the mood/tone of Casino and Goodfellas is pretty close, where My Blue Heaven is a flat out comedy.

That's not a messed up question, that's paying attention to one specific character, rather than the question.

Rube, I’m sorry but you’re wrong.  The correct answer is Casino.  Yes if you googled for the answer My Blue Heaven comes up on many sites and says MBH picks up where Goodfellows left off, but it doesn’t fit a very clearly stated question.  It’s the wrong year, it’s the wrong actors, wrong director, it’s wrong.  Casino is correct and has been labeled the unofficial sequel.  I’m sorry I was late to the discussion, I’m in Portugal, but it was fun to wake up to.
Sidenote: I worked on both Goodfellows and Casino in a historical research capacity.  I spent at least a decade doing research for Scorsese on several of his films.  In all those years I personally met him once, usually I dealt with his associates ☹️

Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.
