We have our first mouse in 8 years since moving into this house. I’ve tried peanut butter but it’s not working. Any suggestions? [edit] PB worked

Exact same situation here. Went to Fleet Farm and later Menards and ended up with 4 different types of traps just for S&G since they’re cheap. A tipping type no kill trap, glue and snap trap all caught one, the newer jaw type one did not. The key with the snap as said is to get the PB all in and under the plastic but you also have to really get the plastic trigger tipped up in the air so that they are definitely gonna have push way down on it to eat and trip it.

Two regular and one small order with 3 pops is $42.  For fast food pasta.

it’s getting a bit out of control.  It’s our 8th out of town weekend tournament since early Dec.  Travel is getting very expensive.

spending about $150-200 per day for food for 3 people.  About $800 per trip with hotel.  Yikes

The wind. Geesh.

Lost half of an apple tree and tin off a shed yesterday during the day of wind.

Came home from work today around 4ish and found 6 Rosemount squad cars at 170th and Cedar a couple blocks from my place.  My coworker texted me shortly after saying there was at least 10.  I also have been hearing a helicopter flying over the neighborhood. Anyone else in Valley Park neighborhood see this.  I had WCCO on at 5 and nothing reported.  Was use to this living downtown Mpls for over 20 years.  Now in burbs, I'm not expecting it... LoL!!!

Just had the weirdest phone call.

Caller: "I'm from Megger Millions. You've won our jackpot."

Me: "You can't even pronounce Mega. You're a scammer."

Caller: "Just for that I'm going to take the $9 million I was going to give you and send it to Russia so they can bomb the shit out of America."

Im so tardy reading this…I use JT Eaton bait blocks both at our cabin and in our home.  Peanut butter flavored.  It’s basically DeCon in cube form, you don’t need any kind of special container or holder, we just tuck them under furniture or along a wall.  Not a good idea if you have pets or small kids.  I buy a big ass bucket (64 cubes for under $25) and divide between dwellings.  A bucket lasts about 2 yrs for us.  Use less in our house, a steady pace at the cabin.

Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

Related: just got word that a very good friend of mine had to put his pup down today, also. 17yrs old, German Setter. I helped him raise her, since she was 6 months old (due to odd schedules, I had to babysit quite a bit). 🙁

I think scammer revolts is another I’ve seen in the past, he’ll trick the scammers into letting him remotely access their computers and lock them out or delete all their stuff etc.

His can somebody long, but I like when disguises his voice to sound like an old lady. He's been able to find the name, locations and photos of some of the scammers, get into their computer cams, and he taught himself Hindi so he can trash talk them right back once they figure out who he is. When they beg him to return the files he's deleted its priceless

Not a simple pleasure – forecasted highs here for today through next Thursday:

Watched/listened to a couple of these last night. Scammer Paybacks might be better then Kitboga.  He explains more what's going on and they are not as long in time.  Even my wife was listening in and laughing.  I'm not as computer savvy as either as these guys.  I just play the role of an old man for 30 to 90 seconds until the scammer hangs up cause I'm hard of hearing and I have no clue how to operate this iPhone my grandkids got for me.

Kit’s are long because I think he actually does it live in twitch and then just posts all or most of the entire thing on YouTube. I agree that it’s a bit long and I don’t need to watch the entire thing but it is cool that he’ll spend that much time and waste theirs for that long, especially the one where he had a ton of money in his account and the scammers spent like 10 hours on the phone with him ?

Anyone have a story to share from seeing a game in the opponent’s stadium where you were messed with enough to get upset? I’m curious.

Nah. I figure it's going to happen and steer into the skid. Either because of this or just plain luck or a combination of both, I haven't dealt with things I've heard others have.

I have a buddy who used to have a Great Dane that patrolled the house at night checking on each room in the house. A burglar once broke a main level window and reached in to unlock it from the inside. The dog latched onto the burglar’s arm and must have chewed it up pretty good because when my buddy responded to the alarm, there was a pool of blood on the floor under the window.

It could be worst...

A couple years ago WPoS, Viking and I were on one of Gopher Hockey road trips at Mich. State.  It was the Friday night game and we were in the last row in the section we were in.  We were standing and not blocking anyone's view.  This guy and wife in the same row, but at the other end told us to sit down.  I told him we are not blocking his view or anyone else's view.  A little bit later, all I feel is the back of my collar being grabbed and was pulled down to my seat with him yelling "I told you to sit down".  I popped right back up and grabbed the guy and was tussling with him.  Viking was trying to pry my off the guy and I grabbed the guys glasses, tossed them and was ready to pop the guy.  They guy's wife had her hand and fingernails imbedded in hand (which I still have the scar from one of her finger nails) telling to me leave her husband alone. Right before I was going to hit the guy all of the sudden a MSU cop grabbed me and told me to come with him.  I thought I was going to jail.  He asked what happened and I told him.  He told me all he saw was me rag dolling this guy and in the tussle he claimed I punched him and that's why he was kicking me out. He wasn't going to arrest me, but I was kicked out for the night.  I later found out when the cop went back in he got the full story from WPoS, Viking, MSU fans and some ROTC guys who saw it all.  Everyone claimed the MSU fan attacked the Gopher fan.  So the officer asked Viking to help him find the guy since he fled after the MSU cop hauled me out.  They did find he and he was kicked out as well.  A couple weeks later I was talking with Brent Gates' mom.  She said she heard from Jr. that some of his friends who were students at MSU where at the game and saw it.  And said it was a MSU players dad who attacked me... LoL!!!

Not anything to do with anyone being upset but a funny stadium story I heard last night.  A friend was at a ballgame in Detroit with his wife and a few friends.   His section was very empty, only a handful of others.
he goes to the bathroom and a random other person in the section yells to everyone to move two sections over - they do.
my friend comes back to find his section completely empty.

that is a great prank!

Reminds me of a time back in 1998 my buddy and I were sitting in a section at a Twins game between first base and the foul pole. There was no one else in that section besides the two of us. An Orioles player hit a foul ball and came right to my buddies seat and he caught it in the air. The fans that were there started to change “sign him up, sign him up, sign him up”… LoL!!!

Love Scammer Payback. I have learned a few bad words in Hindi - or whatever language the scammers speak - watching those videos and when you eventually throw them in to the conversations, the scammers lose it. If I can get them to swear at me, I've done my job.

I've had two incidents. One was 2002, Bills at Vikings, 45-39 OT win for the Bills, Doug Brien missed 2 XPs and was cut by day's end. Cops came running up to where I was sitting, asking about issues. My brother and I (obv Bills Mafia) said, no issue, these guys (Vikings fans) have been awesome. I look one section over, "You might wanna check there." (Vikes fans were pelting Bills fans with beers, that was the designated visiting fan section). But that was an uneasy feeling seeing half a dozen cops approach you...

The other, an F5, I was wearing Gopher gear, and they were not in the tourney. Some UND fan (go figure) was saying the usual stuff, like "Why are you here, your team isn't even in it!" etc. After a few minutes, I turned around and said, "Don't you have a double-wide to sandbag? I mean, it IS the season."
He was quiet after that.

Edit: the Bills game was also the day that Benchwarmer Bob spotted my brother and me in the tailgate lot, and had a beer with us. That dude is HOF. Such a great guy.

I’ll have to check this one out as well. Kitboga clips are just long… funny, but just to long.

Kitboga has 2 channels.  I'm not sure what you mean by too long.  Kit's main Youtube videos are 15-30 minutes long.  He has another channel with basically unedited videos from his Twitch streams.

Kit doesn't hack - he's just more in it to kill the scammers time and have fun.  Although he does try to get them to give bank accounts and then he'll forward those to the authorities to have them shut down.  IMHO he's by far the funniest of the scambaiters.

Jim Browning is a hacker that will get into the scammer's computer systems and mess with them that way.  Jim's latest that he did in partnership with Mark Rober and Trilogy media was pretty funny.

Scammer Payback (aka Pierogi) is kind of somewhere between Jim Browning and Kitboga.  He does a little hacking but also tries to be funny...although for me he's just not that entertaining.

Over 20-30 minutes gets to be too long.  They are funny, just get's to be drawn out.  Though I understand their purpose in wasting their (scammers) times

The housing market is another story.  I just shake my head at these house prices. So many people are in over their heads and just keep adding to the problem.

I heard that new housing is going for $325 per square foot... .  That's just insane crazy...

Where did you get that from?  New houses in Blaine are going for about $160/ sq ft.  These are not on Minnetonka, but decent 3500-4000 sq ft homes.  To double that price per square foot you'd have to have a large lot, special property, or high end finishes.

New homes in Rosemount are going for $160/ sq ft.

There are some new homes in Champlin going in for over $200/sq ft.  The one I could find was a DR Horton home and it was $230/sq ft...and that wouldn't even be a custom home with high end finishes since it's DR Horton.

If that's what it is in Champlin, imagine what it would be in Maple Grove or Plymouth.

A small house in a neighborhood of large homes?  Overpaying for lot?

The point is most new construction is nowhere near $325/ sq ft in the Twin Cities.

The housing market is another story. I just shake my head at these house prices. So many people are in over their heads and just keep adding to the problem. I heard that new housing is going for $325 per square foot… . That’s just insane crazy…

Where did you get that from? New houses in Blaine are going for about $160/ sq ft. These are not on Minnetonka, but decent 3500-4000 sq ft homes. To double that price per square foot you’d have to have a large lot, special property, or high end finishes. New homes in Rosemount are going for $160/ sq ft.

I miss typed... It should've read "on avg. $225 a sq. ft".  Though $325 wouldn't surprise with just the way cement has sky rocketed.  And I highly doubt homes in Rosemount are going for as low as $160 sq. ft.  The ones I've priced out are going for $200 to $248.  And some of those houses are bare minimum. Unfinished basement, basic appliances, seeded lawn (not sod)...

Keep your stick on the ice...

There are some new homes in Champlin going in for over $200/sq ft. The one I could find was a DR Horton home and it was $230/sq ft…and that wouldn’t even be a custom home with high end finishes since it’s DR Horton.

A small house in a neighborhood of large homes? Overpaying for lot? The point is most new construction is nowhere near $325/ sq ft in the Twin Cities.

It's an entire neighborhood (probably close to 100 homes).  The homes are all $200-230 per sq ft and the square footage ranges from 2700-4500.  The only ones that drop under $200 per sq ft have sport courts as that space isn't as valuable.  The 2 builders are Jonathan Homes and DR Horton.  Same houses would probably be $100,000 to $200,000 more in Maple Grove/Plymouth.

I know it's more than a mortgage, but for my 825ft sq 1BR apt, with vaulted ceilings, W/D in unit, and a fireplace (which I don't use, maintenance would be a pain), and a large balcony...$1026/month. Lived here 15 years or so now. And I technically live in Tonka.

Rube, After being in the apartment caretaking business for over 20 years, that’s very reasonable. Especially in the area you rent.

Just curious, is the fire place wood?

Yep, straight up fireplace, hence me not using it. If it were that gas/etc fireplace, I'd light it up every winter night. I started out at $825/mo rent. I see the rents around here now? JFC. I'd even think about buying a house. $1500+ for a 1BR? $3500 for a 3BR? Hell no.
