If you're gonna quote the song, at least get it right.

I wasn't trying to quote the song. ;)

And "Islands" is awesome cheesiness!

Sad new indeed.

The Gambler

Coward of the County

Lucille

Three of my favorites. According to my Mom, I have know every word to The Gambler since I was 3 years old.

I also dance to Through the Years with my Mom at my wedding.

So I felt like I was the only person who had no clue who John Prine was. After listening to his songs, I wasn’t sure. After a comment on FB, I realized that I wasn’t the only one who had no clue. Don’t recall any of his songs and never heard of him. Is that odd?

He was one of those whose songs you knew, but didn't realize he had a hand in, IMO.

Guessing that. I have been surprised at how many loved him and how many had no clue.

Pulse was so kick-ass. IIRC it was PPV when it first happened? I just remember watching it when it came out, and I was agog.

A great American original. Saw him open for Johnny and Edgar Winter at the St. Paul Auditorium in 1976. :good2:

What a great live version of Lucille. Love that tune. Especially the sax solo. Another rock and roll legend gone.

The Edgar Winter Group could really deliver the goods. I saw them perform Frankenstein when they headlined a show at The St. Paul Civic Center in 1974.

They opened their shows back then with this:

Not too bad, kind of a perfunctory performance. Barely breaking a sweat.

Here's Eric with Sonny Landreth. Getting closer to bringing it.

Here's Gary Moore. He's "bringing it." Shock
