That's the first song I've never (knowingly) heard from her.
Meh. Not the worst I've ever heard but doesn't make me wanna go listen to her whole album.

You Should See Me Wear A Crown, and Bury A Friend came out before this one. It's gothic techno-like messed up fusion stuff. I really like it.

I'll make it easy:

I agree. She’s awesome live, my daughter is going to her show in a couple weeks.
Should have posted this much earlier in the day...
EDIT: Swapped out the link with one that didn't have all the ads, plus, dubbed on Saving Private Ryan

Today was the commencement event for our kids' school. The valedictorian at one point used the line, "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end" but admitted she didn't know the source. Suddenly I found myself on an inner-thought tangent thinking about all the great lyricists that have come out of Minnesota over the years:
Dylan
Paul Westerburg
Dan Wilson
Matt Wilson
Dave Pirner (very underrated lyricist imho)
Mason Jennings - not technically from here but his formative writing years began after moving to Minneapolis
Bob Mould
Peter Himmelman
Prince
Slug
Brother Ali
Jeremy Messersmith
Martin Zeller
Completely unrelated this came up at random today listening to some music. Forgot how awesomely strange it is:

Saw that last night.
One hell of a horn section!

I second this!! My wife and I bought last minute tickets with a friend of ours and are so happy we did. Jeff Lynne somehow still has his fastball and his band was incredible. The crowd was one to make the state proud too. JL seemed geniunely touched by the reception.

Most fun at a concert I’ve ever had. He isn’t even the most personable performer, as he hardly interacted with the crowd, but it just doesn’t matter! Every song was a banger!! Evil Woman was essentially a pilgrimage for me. Always loved that.

I just came in here to post this. I didn't even know this was coming, I just saw Twitter explode about it just now.
Hell yes!! I know what I'm doing tonight. ??
MJK was on with Rogan a few days ago.
If you don't already have plans for late afternoon/early evening this could be a good option. Have attended in previous years and have always had a great time.

This past weekend I worked at Mankato Ribfest with having the Lancers take tickets and usher the reserved seating sections all three nights. 38 Special, Dwight Yoakam, and Vince Neil were the headliners each night. Quite the diverse line up in both bands and concert goers. I'm not a country fan but Dwight was the best of all of them and it wasn't even close. In his hour and half set he had to play at least 30 songs, no breaks just song after song. He did a four song set of Merle Haggard songs that were the highlight of his set, I can handle old school country more than the new school...not that Dwight is even anywhere close to new country. 38 Special was good but like any band that has been around that long I don't care for it when there is one guy left from the original band and he continues on with the band name, but that is just me. Don Barnes can still perform and play very well though.
Then there's Vince....he's awful. The three words he can sing in a row are in key but then he has to take three or more words off to catch his breath to sing the next three words. Then I guess he has demands for his show production to be loud so the production crew has to turn everything up which makes the band sound awful even though they are pretty good. I only watched for three songs and then I left because my shift was over. My other ushers who stayed until the bitter end said the show didn't get any better.
Later this month I am looking forward to working the Buddy Guy/Kenny Wayne Shepherd concert. I'm a fan of Kenny's and Buddy Guy is a legend so I don't think I should be disappointed with that concert.

I saw KWS at the "Blues Festival" up at Grand Casino Hinckley a few years ago and he was excellent.

I’ve seen Buddy on nights when he’s feeling it and nights when he’s not. He’s amazing when he’s on.
It certainly isn't as heavy as some of the early stuff, but I don't hate it... Looking forward to a studio version of descending.

As long as I still get to hear Stinkfist, Forty Six & Two, Parabola, etc. on tour I will be a happy person!

The Raconteurs played shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All were streamed live.
Friday night show. Performed their new album "Help Us Stranger". :dup:

Saw him perform in Nashville in 2004. Fantastic show.

This makes me sad. I wish I would have had the opportunity to see him in concert. It's pretty much impossible to not like Two Tickets To Paradise or I Think I'm In Love.
....and now Ric Ocasek.

Such a drag. Really loved The Cars back from the late 70's to early 80's.

Damn damn damn. :anger:
The next one that's gonna really hurt for me, outside of an unnatural death, is anyone from Floyd or AC/DC. They are getting up there.....Ric was banging Paulina for a while, had a good run, can't complain.

The Cars were a little before my time. Before this weekend the only song I could identify with The Cars was "Just What I Needed". After I read about Ric Ocasek yesterday, I went down a YouTube rabbit hole of their music. I was stunned at how many songs I knew that I never realized was them. Good songs too.
