@idontknow

True… we spent our honeymoon and there and all our anniversaries (3). You can’t go wrong at so many of them. We checked several out for our honeymoon and found Cove Point to be the best priced for our price range.

What’s the newest fad with bottles of Fireball?

20 100ml bottle bucket, which works out to $1/bottle, whereas normally it's $1.99 for 100ml. Halloween seasonal release.

I don’t think it’s a new fad.  I have seen mini bottles of Fireball on the ground anywhere college kids have been for the last 20 years.  It’s probably cheap and therefore more affordable.🤷‍♀️

It is very popular to take a bucket of fireball minis to hockey team road trips and pass them out to the other parents.

its easier than buying a bunch of plastic shit glasses and people don’t really pass the bottle anymore.

To help stay awake on the drive home from Hermantown to Woodbury, I did the Kris Lindahl vs. Nicollet Law billboard battle royale.  Nicollet started strong and stormed out to an 8-1 lead.  Lindahl showed heart and scored 3 straight unanswered to cut the lead to 8-4 by halftime.  Lindahl slowly chipped away on the lead over the next 50 miles.  By White Bear Lake, Lindahl tied it up 12-12.  There was interference by some Black Ops dude posing as Lindahl, and Nicollet scored on the power play to take a 13-12 lead, then got an empty netter just before my exit in Woodbury.  Final score:  Nicollet 14, Lindahl 12.

I’ve noticed over the past few months that pretty much every song on 93X is named Arthur’s jewelers or Nicolet law.  Who knew they had so many albums.

The Peter Stormare ads are mildly creepy.

Election night... my son was in front of the tv all night. From dinner (we went to church for 2 hrs.) till 2 in the morning. He had his mom's phone and tv on. Telling everyone in the house updates from state to state. Presidential to Senate to the House. He learned A LOT for being 11 yrs. old. Learning the difference between electoral votes to popular votes.

Went to the Chris Tomlin concert tonight at Target Center… I think it was my first time in Target Center since the 2000 Boys State Hockey Tourney and the 2000 WCHA Final 5.

Last time I remember being at Target Center Dave Larson scored vs Wisconsin.  But I’m sure I was there in the Final Five days while the X was being built.  For sure during the Big Ten Tourney.  Just not very memorable.

Monday thru Wednesday is the first Monday thru Wednesday that we don’t have the kids activity at church since the start of Sept. Plus my wife and I both work Monday and Tuesday, then a 5 day weekend!!!

Note: I love the fact that the kids want and beg to go to church activities. It’s just a nice break going into the long Holiday weekend and not rushing home from work, making dinner and out of the house going to church.

Was told I was going to get Voluntary Time Off tomorrow at some point, exactly how it sounds. BUT boss said, if you want Paid Time Off, you can, for the whole day. Well, duh. 😉

Nice little surprise for yours truly.

Several years ago, Viking and WPoS were at the coldest on record Bockfest at Schells. It was close to drinking beer slushy’s. Unless you went to the fire and had your beers poked.

I believe it was Winter Dabbler or something like that, and it was super cold (I was not there), but Keweenaw Brewing (Houghton) was there, and they had the only beer lines that didn't freeze up. You can't make it up. 😀

I remember a couple hockey tailgates back in the day where we had to quit playing beer darts because our beers kept freezing.  🥶

And at least one that for the first few hours, we needed torpedo heaters to keep the keg lines flowing. They all got a little slushy in the lines, but the kegs stayed just warm enough that you'd get a small amount of slush with most of the cup being liquid (if REALLY cold) beer.

I think that was the one where we had the 3 sided shelter, and Shirtless Guy had a tv set up in the back of his SUV.

That's the one.  Brought his portable Dish/DirecTV/whatever antenna because there were a couple Euroball games that people wanted to watch.

I tailgated a Vikings Game vs the Packers at the Dome years ago and it was so cold I kept the beers in a cooler (no ice) in the car to keep them from freezing.  I eventually had to turn the car on to warm them up so they wouldn't freeze within the first 5 minutes of drinking.

I had a sunflower heater to try to keep us warm and despite standing within inches of it we couldn't get warm.  It was miserably cold out but we had fun (directly proportional to the number of beers consumed).

Skol....[CLAP]!

I'm thinking of some of those original ones behind the athletic fields along the train tracks where that little sand shack used to be. Approximately the baseball away dugout location now.
We once threw a tarp over the front of that little shack  and put the heaters inside to stay out of the wind.

I can’t fathom standing outside for hours in weather that cold these days, we were maybe more young and stupid a couple decades ago; well at least the young part.  😂

My co-worker was telling me her husband who works construction, went to the yard to get some stuff and went inside for a few moments. At lunch he opened is lunchbox and it was empty. He just thought he miss communicated with his wife about packing his lunch. So, he just ran and bought lunch somewhere. That evening he mentioned it to his wife, and she told him she did pack his lunch. The next day he looked at the security camera at work. A street person happened to walk past, opened his door and emptied his lunch out.  They had a good laugh cause even know it was wrong it went to a hungry person.

This is the same co-worker whose husband's co-worker went to the company Christmas party in the company truck. Had a couple drinks and got pulled over going home. Got fired and lost his pension that he had saved, because he was close to retirement. I don't know the final outcome if he is still screwed, being union, the union fought for him or got the right lawyer and got something out of it.

Bucci has a longer track-record of supporting College Hockey in particular, but Sir Charles is certainly a massive hockey fan as well:

https://www.syracuse.com/sports/2024/12/charles-barkley-spotted-in-western-ny-buys-drinks-for-whole-bar-after-college-hockey-teams-win.html

Looks like he was there to do the ceremonial puck drop, even though he'd never been there before.  Then, after the 2-0 shutout, walks into a local bar, pops some tunes in the jukebox and announces that drinks are free at the bar for the next five songs.

Bomb threat earlier this evening at the Menards in Apple Valley. Supposedly the suspect while in custody for shoplifting, made a bomb threat.
Talk about going from misdemeanor shoplift into a felony domestic terrorist threat charge.
