Concerts at The State Fair Grandstand.
I forgot how much fun concerts there are and both The Wallflowers and The Counting Crows killed it last night!

The random free performances are also very good at times. Last year saw a duet that was belting out OLD country, and it was great.

I like to loop back around and go by the Leinie Lodge every few hours to find out if what I hear sounds any good. The stage by the bazaar as well.

That western bar, next to the Caribbean joint has some good stuff, also.

Any one else here "mature enough" to remember back when they had a separate area designated as the "Teen Fair"? One year "The James Gang" (led by Joe Walsh) played on stage on successive days. I forget exactly how many times I went to see them.
What’s the threshold of what you can’t wear at the State Fair?!?!?! Some of the shirts (logo and wording) and outfits are questionable… lol!!!

Watching Nebraska lose in any sport is a simple pleasure.

Yeah that was pretty good

People watching is the best part of the fair! Makes you realize your style may not be so bad after all.
Getting a call from some friends I've known for 30~ years, but haven't seen in a couple years and hanging out. They are in town for an FFL Draft (a league I was part of for 25 years, and they are still in it, and still has most of the original members, 32 years later).

I am the commish of a FF league and we are in year 32 as well. We are spread across 4 states now, and at least 9 of the 12 people in the league usually make it to the draft and an afternoon of golf. We have 7 original members left and 3 of our pals have died throughout the years. I'm hoping to have our league go another 10 years or so.

Serena being this good at almost 41 is amazing
Wednesday boat ride on Tonka with my sons, brother, BIL, dad, two cousins in town and two nephews going from Deephaven to Excelsior, dinner at Maynard's, more boating, a perfect sunset and plenty of fun banter. Could not have asked for a better day.

Minus Sat evening, the weather for the past week has been amazing, and it looks to continue for the duration of the Fair.

Good to hear... my HCT levels are getting border line range and within range. Hoping one or two more sessions and I can stop going to Minnesota Oncology & Hematology ever other Friday to give a unit of blood. FYI, I'm fortunate... I have a hematology issue not oncology. My issues are a small bump in the road comparted to 95% of the other people in the room while I'm giving a unit of blood.

This is testing for a house YE and future Mrs. YE are buying. It’s pretty cool, they are buying his grandma’s house, where Mrs. GE grew up.

Went to my first Saints game at CHS field. Despite the loss, the weather was absolutely perfect - not a cloud in the sky and comfortable temps. We stayed for the fireworks which were awesome.
What a great day.
The weather has been insanely good this weekend, and is supposed to continue for another few days. Hitting up the Fair tomorrow morning, a short stint and man, I am looking forward to that.

Being in the right place at the right time last night to see the Northern Lights. What a treat!

Went to the Fair this morning. Roaming around...hear "HEY!!!!!" towards my general direction. I stop, look around...and there's my brother and SIL. To have that happen with that many people at that exact moment at that exact place...well, welcome to the Fair.

We were hanging with Mickey last week in Orlando and as I was walking by the line to Peter Pan I saw someone we know from Hastings. Sometimes it’s just a really small world

Holy dad joke.
It took over a year. Just in time for season 102. ??
But we got our vintage Minnesota 100 year jerseys!
Might I suggest just getting a blank one if you order. Will be much faster that way. ?

With your history of personalized jerseys, I hope it wasn't a Lafontaine jersey. ?

No name. Just my favorite number!
I’m canning today. My hubby makes really good pasta sauce and we should get about a dozen 1/2 pints. I’ve also got a small batch of raspberry jam going. 3 different types of pesto is on the docket for tomorrow. I freeze that in amounts just for the 2 of us. A few chutneys later in Oct.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

Several years ago, when I had the apartment in Mpls. On eBay I won a flashlight from the Berkeley Pit in Butte, Mt. It arrived, but the mailman put the package on top of the mailboxes, and someone stole it (shocking). Which lead me to posting signage that no packages can be left in the vestibule. Tenants and even I would have to go to USPS, UPS or whomever to pick your package up cause of too many sticky fingers. Just this week, the first time that I recall a flashlight from the Berkely Pit was up for auction. I did win it and received it today. My wife said jokingly I probably bought from the person who stole the first flashlight... lol!!! Though both flashlights the seller was from Butte.
It's pretty cool flashlight and matches a flashlight from Montana Power Co. which my Dad worked for 37 years and I worked for one summer as summer help while in college.

Well with the 14 coming out soon hoping to upgrade to a 13 or maybe 14. If any are available. But I’m sad they didn’t bring back the home button.
but yeah, it’s a crapshoot what won’t work on gpl on any given day. ?
But I’m sad they didn’t bring back the home button.
After about a day without a home button, you will wonder why you ever needed one.

This why I like the SE. That and it is smaller.
I last had an SE and switched to Droid. Tried using one of the Kid's 13 (I think) and hated it. ?
I was apprehensive moving to the 12 without a button... But got used to it fast and have zero desire to go back to a button.
@the-rube has about 20 buttons on that flip phone of his... what a nightmare that must be. ?

Anyone have a 13 in great condition they wanna sell cheap? ?
My wife loves her 13 mini.
I don't miss the home button, especially with facial recognition.

Finally found a phone for Rube:
Starts un-friending people with any number greater than 6 in their phone number. 😉

I went from a 6S to a 11 and I don't miss the home button at all. Admittedly it took me a little while to get used to swiping up to "go home" but now it's muscle memory.

Had an 8 and upgraded to the 13 in July. Went with the 13 mini cause I didn't like the regular 13 cause if the size. I like the 13 mini just wish it was the same size the 8 was, but not bigger than that. I miss the home button and for some reason I'm always bumping the flashlight icon on the homepage and turning on the flashlight.

Being an Android user all along... are you talking about a physical button, or a particular spot on the screen?
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

A round, physical button that was on the bottom of iPhones through the 10 or so.

We are looking to upgrade our iPhones. Apparently one of the issues people seemed to hate about the 13 is a "notch" that was associated with facial recognition. This notch is removed in the 14. What I can't find out is what the big deal is about the notch and whether or not it is so frustrating that I should pay the extra money for the 14 to avoid it.
The notch is a bit annoying, but it's growing on me.
