Late night dinner at Ansari's. Had a beer from Drekker... CHONK Sundae Sour - Peanut Butter and Jelly. Talk about a thick beer... I've had milkshakes less thick. Makes a Guiness look like water.
The Chonk and the Slang Du Jour beers from them are THICCCCCC. Love when Ansari's (or Northern Taphouse in Plymouth) have the on tap.

@rube
Really like the Taste of Jerusalem. My wife and I have been there several time. Each time I look for you. Ever since I pretty much gave up drinking 3 years ago, I’m out of the know. I need an expert to suggest from the list for me.
Keep your stick on the ice...
n I think I went there once, some outing with friends. They are at the State Fair, are they not? IIRC, I got some food from them, quite good.@rube

Narrow your request for "a list." 😉

I'm sort of intrigued by the chonk stuff and have tried a couple... but it's not my thing, definitely not a four pack. I'd much rather have their Nightman Cometh and What Lies Beneath brews.
I want to go back to Drekker. Would be fun to stay at one the beer themed rooms once the hotel is open. ?
The thick beers are good for a one and done, for sure. They are so good though. The Raspberry Cheesecake and Lemon Meringue are so beyond awesome....

Oh, yes, please. An expensive, but amazingly fun weekend, I'm sure.I want to go back to Drekker. Would be fun to stay at one the beer themed rooms once the hotel is open. ?
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
I love me a Russian Imperial for instance but it's a one beer per session for sure. Obviously there's Darkness, but also I really enjoyed Parabola by Firestone, but also Hoppin Frog has a few and I love Odell's The Jolly Russian.
Love me RIS's, but yes, that's a one-and-done (for a bomber), also. One bottle lasts one full Gopher hockey game (1/4 bottle pour : pregame/each period).

I was referring to the menu dish at Ansari’s… lol!!! I know you’ve been to Ansari’s more than once!!!

My go-to is the gyro stir fry (medium heat). The gyro burger is my backup. The dolma (beef in grape leaves) is tasty (and pro-tip: order the family size, which is double the serving).
Edit: While I can't stand it, I have made runs down there for a staffer at LTD Brewing for their hummus, which apparently is amazing. Found that if I get to Ansari's right at 11am when they open, order to-go, I can make it to LTD at THEIR opening time to get the staffer her food. 😀

Their gyro omelet is fantastic too. Highly recommend.
Ansari’s stir fry is really good, when I was in the office we could get it delivered some days (usually once a week) via a lunch delivery service.

We'll drink more Drekker when the weather gets nicer because my wife is really into the Smoothie style beers. We found the Golden Valley Liquor Barrel will sell them in singles and two-packs after they've been in the store for a week or two.
Hands down my favorite Drekker beer was the Cherry Almond Cheesecake Slang du Jour.
The Raspberry Cheesecake and Lemon Meringue are phenomenal.

The Drekker mint milkshake. ???
Good Lord - just put whipped cream on top while you're at it.

That's a heck of an idea! 😛
Right now I am all about the Orange Peel Patio Crusher (blonde ale w/infused orange peel) at LTD. It is one of their seasonal beers, and honestly hands-down my favorite beer from them overall, and I do mean overall. It's just a simple 5% crushable brew.

Time to selflessly promote LTD Brewing (Hopkins) Anniversary party. June 3. I'll be pouring inside from 2-10 officially (most likely 12-10). You can demand that I get you a beer, and I will be obligated to. 😉
For those with kids, they will have games, etc for them, and root beer (which is phenomenal, they use cane sugar in the recipe).

Official, announced this past weekend. The party will have a wine/hard cider pouring station. LTD got a one day permit for such a thing. I don't know the wine being served, but Loon Juice and Wild State will have the ciders.

I kept seeing ads for disaronno velvet; I like disaronno so I bought a bottle. It’s yummy!
That was a full day for LTD's Anniv party. Crowd was a bit light this year, I think the weather killed some of it. Still busy, though. Very fun time, and some good brew. I think the Lime Blonde Ale was the best choice today, given the heat/etc. Apparently the wine/cider truck didn't really draw anyone in, doubt it will happen next year, but *shrug*

Back Channel had their members' party tonight, the main feature was their Red Spoon BA Stout. 2 versions: 1 in Heaven Hill barrels, the other in Appleton barrels. The base stout was 18.75%. They guesstimated that the BA was around 21-22%. Yeah.
@Viking and @davescharf and @WPoS can confirm. Both were phenomenal.

I just heard that there is a Busch Light Peach. She sounds hideous. ?

The Swifties liked the Peach Leinenkuge's this past weekend... They smelt decent cracking them open.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Have had the Avalanche Amber Ale by Breckenridge the last couple times I was at Ole Piper Pizza in Lakeville... that's a really good, easy drinking beer.

How do they compete with the Popeye by Back Channel?

IMO, Popeye is better, but that Appleton variant was damn good.
I agree with Viking. That Appleton was sick. I'd put it up there with Popeye. The Heaven Hill is a step below.
And Drekker brought back their Cherry Cheesecake Slang Du Jour this week. It's THICCCCCC and delicious. It's a fruit slushie, to be honest.
Did find New Glarus' Serendipity (Apples, Cranberries, and Cherries fruit beer) on my first MI trip this year, which is PHENOMENAL and usually hard to find. 2 4pks and 7 single bottles split among 3 people. It was all they had, or we would have bought more. 😉
Toppling Goliath Pecan/Vanilla Assassin tickets go on sale on Saturday. It's part of a set, w/2 bottles of their Mornin' Delight. I'm undecided as it costs $150 for 1 Assassin and 2 MDs. I just want the Assassin, have had the MDs more than a few times.

Good Lord are you buying your beer from the Cheesecake Factory? ?
I can't have beer for 6 months due to prostatectomy so I bought some Hairless Dog Black Ale. It's putrid.

Nothing wrong with a good fruit beer. 😛
And just so you know, finally getting the 10 4-packs of Perrin's No Rules BA Vietnamese Porter in late July, which I bought in April. melmac/Mr melmac were my proxies. (note: only 5 4pks are for me, some friends bought the others). Top 5 beer of mine, ever.

Killshot from July 8 bottleshare. Lots of good brews there.

So, it's not beer, but it is booze. Tried my first Bomba Juice mixed drink at the July 4 Twins game, that was darn good. Found out they have it at Northern Taphouse in Plymouth. Hooray! Gray Duck Vodka, Strawberry Puree, Lemonade, Soda Water.
This is totally up @Cowgirl 's alley. Great summer drink.

So you’re bringing some to the beach this weekend right….?!
You can dial up the recipe online, just saying. I'm muling enough up there, other people's beers and such. I had to buy 21 lbs of ice, to make sure my cooler is cold until at least Wed night. 😀

Cleaned out Wassau Downtown Grocery of New Glarus Serendipity (again; did the same last month). Both hauls were about a dozen bottles total. Did find Dogfish Head's Wake Up World Wide Stout (coffee infused) in single bottles. Only bought one of those, though. Just want to try it.
This is one honey-hole I do not mind sharing.
Also along the trip found some Three Floyd's BA Blot Out The Sun barleywine (12oz bottles, sold as a single), and some New Glarus Pilsner, the latter of which I have not had.
In other news, and I will tread lightly due to the issues at hand, Minocqua Brewing has a city council meeting this week, to see if their business license will be revoked or not. I know they post heavily on Facebook, and I'm sure one could find information in general or other social media sites. I will leave it at that. I will say they have decent beer, you can find it around the metro area.

Anyone?
Take the whiskey part out and it might be doable. ?
Anyone?
I'd be game to try it. I've had a few odd whiskies like Cinnamon Apple over the years so this would just add to that collection.
That said, Steve's point is still very valid.

It is but so many people are willing to just try it. It's crazy to see how many bottles of weird crap are behind some bars these days. To Steve's point though and this discussion makes you wonder why Elvis Whiskey Midnight Snack was invented...peanut butter banana bacon whiskey. Yup...that's right. It's on par with Doughball and Screwball but it starts peanut butter and finishes banana with very little bacon if I remember correctly.
I don't search this crap out, I get samples when the owner of the Loose Moose gets some of this weird stuff in.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
As for that bastardization of whiskey, hell no. The biggest variation I've done with that is the honey whiskey, and I haven't done that in a couple years, and even then it was once in a blue moon, if that.
I refer to the fictional character of Raylan Givens of the TV show "Justified" :
“Bourbon is easy to understand: It tastes like a warm summer's day.”

I knew that Back Channel was collabing with Schells, it was announced at the members' party earlier this year. I want to try it, b/c Number A it's prob gonna be good, and Number B, Schell's collab with ANYone? Wow.

Thanks to @armadillo, I have a sixer of Puppers beer (the official beer of Letterkenny tv show, made by Labatt's). Can only find in Canada, as far as I know, where Le Dillo Familia recently vacationed, and well, Puppers tastes like what you would expect. The can label/design is phenomenal, though. The alliteration on the back is classic Letterkenny.
