Patrik Berglund really did me a solid by walking out on Buffalo. They stubbornly plugged " Mitts" in second line 80% of the time and he's not even lucking into garbage secondary assists. It's comical, unless you are a Buffalo fan or a fan of CM.

Are there a lot of Mitts fans here? I know I work with three guys that would love to kidnap him before he hits his 60th game. Mr. Green

Your NEGATIVE obsession with a former Gopher (supposedly your college team) is just weird. It’s as if CM banged your niece, then failed to afford her a “Derek Jeter” sendoff? Betting (think you’re embellishing) a couple grand on CM point totals not reaching a certain threshold. Talk about being a total DB...on a Gopher Hockey message board (to boot)...

Any opinion allegation that bearpaw made against Casey regarding my niece, while your here? I'm thinking of calling her. I thought, much like fantasy football, I was just rooting against a player I think is overrated to make some money from people that I think overrate him. Perhaps this is all more sinister though, being that my beloved niece could be involved.

Thanks. However now I realize that in both quoting each other, we'll never know the true identity of the person Mr. Sunbone is blocking.

Funny you mentioned my niece, she's a Bulldog alum and is married to a Canadian former hockey player and sadly, a Wild employee. I think I would have taken your option. I kid, I kid... LoL

I thought Sunbone meant to quit quoting religious lines, and I did, but maybe he meant something else.

With defensemen dropping like flies in Toronto, Justin 0.6 Holl will get into only his 3rd game of the year. He hasn't played since Dec 23rd. He may be a little rusty.. :D

Wheeler four goals and a "natural hat trick" with goals two through four in the third period alone.

Robson could be there starting goalie some day or work himself into the rotation sooner than later if he keeps on his path. The Wild need a quality second goal tender. Stalock is not the guy.

Sabres center Casey Mittelstadt played his first game at the United Center Thursday. It was a return to the arena where he was taken by the Sabres with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 Draft.

Mittelstadt laughed when asked if he had flashbacks to the draft.

"Obviously it's quite a bit different with the ice in and not the whole stage up," he said. "But it's fun to be back here and kind of re-live it, remember how good a feeling it was and see how far you've come since then."

Mittelstadt was drafted after his senior year of high school in Eden Prairie, Minn., and after playing for the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League. He was on the NHL's Top Prospects tour that spring, attending a Stanley Cup final game in Nashville and throwing out a first pitch in Wrigley Field during draft week.

"It should be good. We're excited. It's a great place to play," Mittelstadt said of United Center. "They get pretty rowdy here and have great fans so it should be a good atmosphere and should be fun."

Mittelstadt scored his 10th goal of the season and had a career-high five shots on goal in Monday's 4-3 loss to Edmonton. The Sabres have also been pleased with his ability to mix his defense and offense.

"That's something I've been learning lately," he said. "Early in the year, I was focused so much on defending, defending, defending. Now I'm to the point where you can get the balance going and now your spots when you can go play offense. It's been a work in progress, especially lately. I've had the puck more and made a few more plays so it's been good."

CM hasn’t reached his 21st birthday yet...and between salary & bonus allocation is making in excess of $1 million ?this season...but some on this Forum can’t get over their own illogical bitterness...that CM was one and done at the U...

I'm with you. I view CM kind of in the same light as Kyle Okposo. They were both good but with even one more year they could have improved themselves that much more. They both deserve to be an NHL player and play like they belong but I just don't think they made the best decision at the time they each left the U for their own development. CM will get better over time just like Kyle has but I agree with Thirty-Four that CM is by no means a super talent, just another NHL player.

I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!

Being, "just another NHL players" isn't necessarily mutually exclusive to being a super talent. How freaking old is the kid? I think it remains to be seen whether or not he'll be closer to developing into another Okposo or another Wheeler (and no I'm not comparing style of play).

CM gets back in the lineup and has a goal and an assist in the NHL two years after playing HS hockey while 34 sits at home doing who knows what but something phenomenal I'm sure.

Bad news for Schierhorn. Springfield (AHL) released a goalie and he was sent to Adirondack. Schierhorn gets released from his ECHL contract.

Jack Ramsey signs contract with Indy.

Ryan Lindgren gets promoted to NYR.
