The FOX studio announcers just ripped off hockey's bit and said a two goal lead is the most dangerous.
Shenanigans!

Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.
Every time I watch that clip even though I know the Greek's revelation is coming I still heartily laugh out loud every single time.
Same!
Methinks the Dutch size is starting to wear out the Argentines.

Players in the wall may jump to block a kick. A sneaky player may anticipate this and kick it along the ground hence the dude on the ground.
Thanks, I feel at least twice as smart as I was yesterday.
I dislike penalties. I understand why they do it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
And to a shootout ARG-NED go. Blah.
If they NHL can get its playoff format right you'd think FIFA could.....oh....wait....

Apparently Grant Wahl died while covering the Argentina-Netherlands game.
Apparently Grant Wahl died while covering the Argentina-Netherlands game.
Reports coming out of Qatar is that he had a heart attack at the stadium and was transported to the hospital where he died. He did write that he had a bad cold and went to see a doctor at the media center. They gave him anti-biotics and some cough syrup. That was a few days ago.
His brother posted on Instagram that he thinks he was killed. It's all very suspicious. Especially since he has been harassed for standing up for rights of others while reporting on the games. I read a lot of his stuff and he genuinely loved soccer. From my Twitter tonight, it appears the rest of the journalist world loved him too.
Kind of interesting, watching a TV show, and an organization wants to assassinate someone. Method is Polonium-210, which has been used before. Takes a bit to take effect, and a heart attack is within the range. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/58088
I'm not going to go full tin-foil hat, but there are enough red flags to ask some questions...

The most counterintuitive of his findings may be that penalty shootouts reward teamwork.
But shootouts are team sports disguised as individual confrontations.

Down goes Portugal! And the first African team in the semis.
england and France will be a solid game too
I’ll say one thing about soccer, when they list a 1PM start time, they nail it.
Great game between ENG and FRA, lots of action and no acting
Argentina advances and gets the Morocco/France winner.
Messi had himself an ok game.

As much fun as many of the upsets were this World Cuo I do hope France advances which should make for a terrific final.
Will be interesting to see if the Moroccans put up a fight against France. I am betting no, but they have conquered the Iberian peninsula and have their sights set North.

They will definitely want to Mankato State this game. ??

Not a real soccer fan, but "Go Morocco". Not knowing much about the history of the World Cup, it's interesting that Morocco is the first African nation to make the semifinals.

Only reason I don't want to cheer for them is because of their style of play. They just play defense and hope to win the game in PKs or on a fluky goal. I don't blame them for playing that way - it's their only chance of beating these teams with the talent they have, but it's not fun to watch.
I joined a WC Pool with some friends. Did a snake draft and I had the 7th pick out if 8. My last pick was Morocco. They are my only hope.
Side note, when the quarterfinals hit, everyone on the pool had one team remaining. No one had two or was eliminated. We couldn’t do that if we tried.
With the World Cup being nearly a month long. Do fans stay the full month to cheer on their country. Planning for Pool Play would be easier than the Knockout stage. Though the few times I've seen the games, there is a good number of fans for both countries in the seats.

His wife said he died of an aortic aneurism rupture. Never had a chance.
The GOAT has his World Cup!!!! Argentina beats France in penalty kicks after the game ends 3-3.
Messi scores in the first half, in extra time and then his kick in the PKs.
That was an amazing game!

What’s up with that weird jacket they put on Messi before they have him the trophy?
