United looked like United of old this morning, what a performance from them.

They beat Leeds 6-2 at Old Trafford last season.

We bet on both teams to score, it seems like whenever United and Leeds get together there's a bunch of goals

The Nuno Espirito Santo regime starts with a bang! Son, what a player!

Spurs had more passion, intensity, and purpose in that one game than they did in the entirety of Mourinho's run. They looked like they were sleepwalking under Mou. Hell of a performance today.

Levy is a pretty shrewd negotiator asking for City to give them the three points as part of the Kane deal.

Nice to see the Loons tie it but the lack of possession following the SJ red card is a bit perplexing. Hopefully they'll get more aggressive in the 2nd half and not play for the normally desirable road tie.

It seems the Loons have turned to the Wild to learn how to take advantage of a team playing short a player. Two games in a row. :ddown:

Looks like I need to polish my resume as Arsenal will be looking for a new manager after today. I can’t be any worse than Arteta has been.

Man it’s been painful. They were pretty good the last 25 or so games last year but it has been a train wreck this far

The Loons are just off this year. They've had injury issues, but even when fully healthy they haven't looked totally inspiring. Goals are really tough to come by. Hopefully Hunou takes the Lod trajectory, and after 6-8 months he really starts kicking on, he has shown flashes but overall has been really lackluster. You'd think an established Ligue 1 striker should be able to come to MLS and do really well.

Maybe because it's Ronaldo - and that was an awful miss - but you can't really argue with Penandes' record so it would be harsh.

And Arsenal ever since letting him go have been looking for a solid second keeper. They didn’t realize they probably had their new #1 the entire time

Not often the North London Derby is totally out of reach in 30 minutes like today. As bad as Arsenal looked to start the year so think Spurs are really struggling

Yep, they do it every game. Even when they were at TCF on the artifical turf they watered it at half time. I'm not a soccer player, but I have always assumed it's too make the field more "slick", for the ball to glide across, and for slide tackling

Actually watching Loons game vs. Philly. Just saw a Loons player throw a ball at a Philly player hitting him in the face and getting a red card. Though you would think the Philly player got hit in the face with a sledgehammer the way he acted flopping all over the field… Lol!!

The Loon get a big 3-2 win against Philly (who are 3rd place in the east). The Loon are in a tight battle for the playoffs where every point is likely to matter.

Mrs. GE and I went to our first Loons game tonight, they are really fun games. Will definitely do it again!

Also helps the stadium is in our neighborhood so the 7 minute commute makes it really easy.

I was sincerely concerned about the long term health of a few Philly Floppers but the are miraculous healers! ;)

I was there last night for the first time as well. I'm not a soccer guy but it was a really good time and the stadium is pretty cool. I don't know who sang the national anthem but he should sing it before every MN sports event. He absolutely killed it.

Glad you guys both had a fun time! And just think, that was probably the least full I've seen Allianz since the stadium opened. Cold rainy weeknight contributed to that, I'm sure. When it's packed to the gills, the energy in that stadium is ramped up even more!

As for the game, it was nice to see us fight back and win against a really solid Philadelphia team. Metanire... I don't know what he was thinking, bonehead move. And now he misses a really crucial game against LAFC on Saturday.

It's nice to see Hunou contributing a bit more. He seems to be starting to settle in. It always takes guys at least a half season to settle into MLS, it seems.

The Loon get a HUGE 2-1 win at home this afternoon against Sporting KC (who is in first place in the west) which greatly improved their chances of making the playoffs. The Loon have one game left at LA Galaxy next Sunday.

Results by Portland, Vancouver, LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, and LAFC over the next few days and on Sunday will determine if the Loon need a win, a draw or nothing in their last match.

The six teams are all within 5 points of each other fighting for the last four playoff spots in the west. The next week is going to be wild.

Always takes some serious stones to attempt a Panenka ona PK. Even more so if you miss and you get a draw when the playoff line leaves no room for error

The Loon clinch a spot in the playoffs with a 3-3 draw at LA knocking the Galaxy out of the playoffs.

As the 5th seed in the west the Loon open the playoffs at Portland the 4th seed in the west. Time to burn the Timbers!!!!

I didn’t see any of the game but I got the alert when they went up 2-0. I told my wife that knowing Heath’s style they’ll try to sit back and soak up pressure. I also told her that I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost because LA has too many talented plyers for us to be able to withstand that for 50 minutes. It drives me nuts to watch this team when they get out to a lead and have no ability to possess the ball more to protect the lead.

I really thought it would be deja vu from Seattle in the conference final last year. It was close but thankfully they found a way to get a result.

The Loon goaltender made at least three point blank saves in OT. He earned his paycheck yesterday....

And how it used to be a full 30 minutes until someone bastardized it and changed it to sudden death before going back to a full 30 minutes?

His head might explode if we tell him they don’t take players off the pitch for extra time like hockey does Mr. Green
