We got rid of the "cancers" Parise and Suter, and yet the team performance is nearly identical when it matters most.
Our special teams continue to be abysmal.

When you spend the entire time whining about the refs and the calls, rather than making adjustments or maybe... coaching??
I don't care whether the whining was justifiable or not. When you get caught up in that noise, it creates a distraction rather than focusing on the task at hand.
One of the color commentary guys had it the other night, they've never seen a coach look so frustrated every time they scanned the bench as Evason in this series. It just seeps negativity into everything and everyone around them. He played right into the distraction Dallas was trying to create.

That's a pretty damning stat. He doesn't have a lot to work with, but losing 3 straight, two of which were on home ice, is on the guys wearing the uniforms.

The players deserve their share of the blame, and there's plenty of it, but Dean Evason has more than proved that he has no idea how to coach playoff hockey

It feels a little bit like they were playing with house money this year. I was surprised they even made the playoffs and by their late season run after KK went down. I can't say I'm even surprised at all by the collapse. That's Wild hockey.
It's too bad they couldn't match Florida's performance. They took care of business at home to force a Game 7. They gave themselves a chance to pull off a stunner against the NHL's best team.

Hard to really see what they're going to do next year given the cap constraints. would imagine it's a middling year and then they shop the old guys like foligno and zuccarello at the deadline (and maybe Hartman). Then the year after it maybe gets a little easier after Flowers contract also comes off the books in addition to those 3 but realistically this team is hamstrung until the 2 deadweight contracts come off the books given you have 50 million tied into 5 guys plus those 2 contracts. Unfortunately Spurgeon is only going to get worse and will be hitting his further decline with 7.5 mil invested in him until he's 37. At some point you have to clean house where you can and I'd do it this year while you still have Kaprizov under contract for 3 more so you're getting ready preparing for something bigger his last year under contract rather than just starting the rebuild.
