Last year in the WS I remember an umpire calling the perfect game according to K zone. For fans who complain about umpire calls. It would be interesting to see if every game was monitored for the last 20 years. Which team got the benefit of miss calls. Pitchers who got strikes called when it should’ve been a ball. And batters who got a ball called when it should’ve been a strike. It would really shut up some fan bases when they boo over every pitch.

And btw… I never understand fans who boo a call from 30 to over 300’ away. Even mgrs in the dugout sitting at an angle.

Keep your stick on the ice...

What was the result of that in the game?

Batter was called out. Bettis had control of the ball before the morons ripped the ball out of his glove.

I believe they called fan interference and yes an out.

Congrats to the NY Yankees (Los Angeles chapter) on winning the title.

That could be, all I saw was the replay on SportsCenter while at the gym (so no sound), and it clearly showed that Bettis had control of the ball before the ball was ripped out of his glove.

I thought the umps had a helluva series. They were as dialed in as the Dodgers.

The story of last night's game was the extra 4 or so outs the Yankees gave to LA.

Cole was having a career night but stumbled in the 5th, as did his team behind him. Judge peaks over his glove, Volpe didn't set his feet, and Cole made no attempt to cover first. Yikes.

No panic in the Dodgers. They kept playing and had one professional at bat after another, plus 3 strong innings at the end from their pitchers.

Maybe they won’t like the look of his ankle and we will.

If baseball wants to get more popular instead of pitch counts, placing runners on 2nd in extra  innings, or the stupid Golden at at bat idea, maybe get serious about a salary cap.

Once per game, the manager can pull whomever is on deck out, and replace them with literally anyone, including the previous batter, potentially.

The theory is it would bring more excitement to the game by each team's best hitter getting an at bat in a key situation. Similar to other sports where when the game in on line you get the ball to your best player and let him win it for you.

RIP Rickey. 65. Damn.

Would’ve been 66 on Christmas Day…

Didnt realize he played for so many Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Anaheim Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Greed is an amazing drug. All they have to do is look at the popularity of the NFL due to parity to see it could save their sport but they won’t do it. There are teams (and more importantly fan bases) that bounce back from a bad year with a good draft and free agency signings to make the playoffs. There are teams in MLB that are never ever gonna challenge for a playoff spot much less a title. MLB will die a slow death due to the greed of the owners.

First and foremost 110% agreeing @sunbone on a salary cap. Followed by imo a shorter season. Start the seasons week of Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. 90-100 game season. Not much overlap with the NBA/NHL Finals to start the season. And just MLB Postseason to overlap with the start of the NFL season.

And baseball is the slowest to change anything, due to traditionalists.
