D looks outstanding. I mean we have more total yardage in a game we’re sucking. But, we spotted them 10 points on the missed field goal and tipped ball in the end zone that was in the hands.
Can’t have that. Not sure what to do, we can’t run and the incompletions are high too. Not like we’re being stubborn with the run or something. Tried a sweep and still got tripped up behind the line.
Mo is dressed so just weird.
That’s the Gopher Football I grew up watching?
Well I guess the silver lining is they're only down 7 despite doing just about everything wrong possible. Turnovers including one in the endzone, stupid penalties, poor coaching decisions, a missed FG and they can't run the ball.
They can shut the naysayers up a bit if they can come back in the 2nd and look good doing it.
PJ confirms no Mo today. Thought I heard him say it was a game time decision.

Yeah the trainers said no when the leg still didn’t feel well enough during warmups I guess.
'tis a good start to half #2

Definitely figuring things out running with Williams instead of Potts.
The Gophers will lead the league in missed int chances after today's game.

Man I’m tired of these seven minute media timeouts.
Yeah we’re back to the first half nonsense again.
Well that’ll likely do it.
Game…set…

As a Gophers football fan of nearly 50 years I'm not sure how to handle these feelings right now. ?
Proceed with caution.
.
Well it was nice being taken seriously for one week at least
Every time we start generating noise and interest. It’s like clockwork.
lot of season left. Illinois just throttled WI and Iowa lost again. West is still very open. I just want that special season. Where we don’t have bad losses and we get the trophies.

It's largely due to our scheduling of cupcakes out of conference. We now know Michigan State is pretty terrible. Most years we go undefeated in OOC, then it seems we like we start with some of the worst teams in the Big Ten. It feels like momentum, but it's not. We have fielded some good teams, but never great. We don't have the depth the really good teams have and Tanner is just above average.
I thought the coaches made good adjustments. The players didn’t execute in the end.
This game was still very winnable after a bad start. Personal fouls to extend a dead drive and untimely turnovers.
Very first Gopher possession was three and out. Ball game.
Good reading on a couple Gopher Football related posts on fb. Fans jumping off the bandwagon claiming they are done with PJ and the team.
Typical bandwagon Gopher fans.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Both teams were pretty crappy. At times it was hard to tell which team wanted it the least.
Minnesota with the bigger choke, given that it was not only a home game but it was homecoming.
NSFW!!!!!!!!! But....hilarious.

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
I’m certainly not jumping off of the bandwagon and the west is definitely up still up for grabs. But unfortunately that was so typical gophers. Typical Minnesota for that matter. Things are going well, we get start to get some national attention and then just like that we fall flat on our face. Have to come out with a vengeance in two weeks. Bret Bielema usually has our number. Time for Fleck to flip the script on him how Brohm flipped the script on us.
A lot of things went wrong but that was the worst the OL has looked since probably the Bowling Green game last year.
I didn't get to see any of the game yesterday but obviously disappointing to see the outcome. From everything I saw, the OL really struggled to get any kind of room for the RBs to run, and it sounded like the WRs had two passes hit them in the hands/chest that ended up being intercepted?

Yeah dropped TD right in dude’s hands for an INT meant they couldn’t even kick a FG on that drive and kicker also missed a 25 yard FG earlier too. That’s basically the ten point difference right there.
I was optimistic about this team and still am but seems like every year they have some game like this. That said so does every team, even Alabama and OSU typically lose one game every year, though in their case it’s probably to a ranked opponent. I think the goal which is still achievable is to get to big ten title game, hopefully they can manage it.
Gophers a bit surprising at -6.5 @ Illinois.

IIRC the Illinois starting QB got hurt against Iowa

Yeah. He is questionable. I did searching to see why the Gophers -6.5.

Fleck also announced today that Mo is expected to play. Probably doesn’t hurt.
@karlsson yeah that certainly affects the line, I also expect the team to bounce back and just look better in general
RTB vs. Roll Tide. We are undefeated against Bama!

I just saw this and came to give a ?
I expected us to step up our competition but was thinking maybe we go with Tennessee or Oklahoma or maybe Oregon. Didn't expect a full lean into this.
Go Gophers!
I’ll believe when I see it. My money is on “it won’t happen”. It’s 10 years out and one, if not both will have a new coach by then and one of the schools will back out. It happens all the time.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Plus with the BIG and SEC going to super conferences, who knows what schedules will look like in 10 years.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Well, I for one hope it happens and look forward to it. Colorado was a much better team when we originally scheduled them and TCU was a much worse team when we scheduled them from when we played them back in the day. Because these are so far in advance it's impossible to know the landscape when it rolls around but it's the right idea.
I appreciate us taking a swing at something meaningful today.
Good for the Gophers! Hopefully they are two top ten teams battling it out in September. Might be a good road trip, if you can get tickets.

I work with someone who said definitely go if you can, it's worth the experience and stadium visit. If I'm still doing this kind of thing in 10 years I'd try to get tickets through the Gopher athletic office.
Maybe the Bama game will be part of the Tanner Morgan retirement tour, and he'll finally get his gold watch.
Hard work will beat talent, if talent doesn't work hard.
Maybe someday Bryce Young can be as good as Tanner Morgan. 3 of the top 5. ?

Another game like Purdue and we will clear the Ms off that list.
Gophers defenders may want to cover Brown on wheel routes. Twice he was left wide open on that first drive.
MBS just lets the Illinois safety take the ball off his shoulder there.
Yeah not much more Morgan could’ve done there.
Yeah not much more Morgan could’ve done there.
The blitzer off the left edge had free run at Morgan which made it impossible to step into the throw. Unfortunate because if he can step into it MBS had the guy torched.
Wow what a play by Tanner!
Yeah nice execution and play design. Should be winning ugh.
