If Hensler continues on his current trajectory, he may never play college hockey.
Conrad Fondrk is an ‘07 to keep in mind…although I don’t know if he plans to play college hockey. He has the best hands I’ve ever seen!
Two things. If you're saying Hensler might be good enough to go straight to the show I'd say pump the brakes. Not even Eichel did that.
As far as the other kid, why in the world did he head out to Rhode Island?
I’m not saying Hensler will go straight to the bigs, but I haven’t heard anything about his future leanings. He’s crazy good though! I know a ton but of people from Woodbury with kids the same age so I can do some digging…
As for Fondrk…let’s just say his dad has always looked for the best deal when it comes to what teams and tournaments he played… He’s an incredible player with poisee, vision, and (like I said) the best hands I’ve ever seen…and I’ve seen him play 50 games or more. It’s like he is playing with a different clock than everyone else!

D -Carson Steinhoff (8th) 22 pts
Cooper Simpson played his youth hockey for MN Made Machine Orange. He’s a terrific player with a wicked shot and an even more wicked mean streak! (Borderline dirty player!)
Gophers have been sorely lacking players like that. Guys you hate to play but love on your team.

I'm old school but the kids with parents that are apparently too good for the MN developmental system and send them to different states every year are often a red flag to me.
Also selfishly not going bantams to HS here can hurt the Gophers chances to get them a bit.

Simpson would definitely fill that void!

That’s a good point.
Fondrk will probably end up at the USTDP and who knows where from there…truly a wildcard.
Hensler is pretty much a lock to end up there too.

Holding out hope….
Well that is certainly not a bad sign. I scrolled all the way down his followers (he doesn't follow many), and the Gophers are the only college hockey team. The Gopher account was the second to last account listed, with NHL the last. Not sure if that means he followed those two accounts most recently, first, or if it's just random. I think it means the first accounts he followed.
Ugh, don't get my hopes up lol I went through enough with Boeser.
Bobby Brink is probably gonna transfer here
If you got a superstar like Cooley for one year you may be able to bring Knies back another year and obviously Knies-Cooley-Lucius would be an insane line.
I get what you're saying, but that's not a great fit for cooley.
What lol
Cooley plays a speed game. The other two don't fit. But i understand this website is your complain site so you know everything
Who do you want him to play with? Knies could play in the NHL next year, his skating is fine...
He plays with Snuggerud now so put him on there instead of Lucius if you want.
I agree with Bonin. A Knies, Cooley, Lucius line would be insane. Cooley played with Knies at WJC….for 1 game.
That would probably qualify as a coup
Because bobby brink will play on that ine
Wait. I thought we needed more lunch pail guys?
We take as many first rounders as we can get. They will combine with the other good college players for a solid top 6.
And the other guys that don't pan out need to realize they are not the stars anymore and hit somebody

YHH always has good insights on stuff that Tony only shares on his podcast.
9:00 YHH on Oliver Moore waiting to commit until February -- big reason he didn't pick Michigan is because Pearson is out after the year and made four visits to campus.
Is Pearson officially out, or is it an educated guess from the YHH crew? Sounded like the latter, though the host seemed confident.
In any event, turmoil at Michigan may help Gophers in any future battles.

He was just guessing and trying to sound like he knows.
Whatever the step above an educated guess would be is where things are at with him being gone after the season.
Jackson Hallum come on down
I think Muckalt does most of the recruiting and would guess, as long as he didn't have much or any of a role in what's likely costing Mel his gig, will slide right into the job. Doubt many kids will bail unless the whole staff is gassed given the ample opportunities that await new players after this season.
Not that it would ever get to this, as most of the allegations are not worthy of major penalties other than maybe firing Mel, but when was the last time an NCAA hockey team had sanctions on them? I remember Maine had some games "forfeited" years ago ( the 90's) under Walsh, but has there been anything recent that I'm forgetting? Just bringing this up as if it were to happen that may be a reason that some would avoid going to Michigan. Again, just hypothetical.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
The NCAA hammered Fairbanks for players not filling out proper paperwork showing they were progressing towards a degree while playing, even though most of them had already graduated by the time they were punished.
If the NCAA didn't do anything to UNC for the school wide academic cheating scandal, they don't seems to have any teeth left.
Unfortunately, I just did a quick look through of Michigan's 2022 recruiting class and all the big name guys have already signed NLIs. With all this turmoil, I was hoping for the opportunity to flip Adam Fantilli but that appears to not be possible.

UNC's defense was laughable. Yes, these classes are completely bogus but we offer them to all students, not just basketball players so it's all good.
Hensler’s favorite schools are (in no particular order) MN, UMD, MI

Can't commit until Aug 1, 2023, right? Will check back in June 2023.
I love the new rules, personally.
I have no idea if he's legit or not just sharing...

That YHH guy (can’t remember the name) absolutely raves about him
Very big news coming soon. Potentially biggest coup since Kessel.
Congrats GoldyShuffle for the scoop -- impressive get for the Gophers.
GoldyShuffle currently favorite for poster of the year

Hats off to thee
Okay, I am missing something, who was the big coup/get.

I saw that, thanks. Should have looked there first. Nice scoop by GoldyShuffle.
Townsend (EP) and Scheetz (Chaska) will probably be two of the August 1 names to watch this year.

Danny Nelson (MG)
We should look to flip Alex Bump from Vermont and Lleyton Roed from Bemidji for fall 2023

Missed this in the Cooley excitement but this is great to hear! Let's hope we remain in the discussion as one of his favorites as he's legit.

He’s beyond legit!

I will be shocked if Alex Bump of Prior Lake keeps his commitment to Vermont. No offense to Vermont but he will have every big school calling him if they aren’t already. He is a stud.
Teddy Townsend of EP is for real too. Hope the gophers are after both.
It’s a fairly common move youth players try while messing around at practice. Although this kid appears fairly young.
So where is Mitchell Miller going to land next year. I understand his situation but who's going to be the team to take a chance on him and deal with his media backlash? or is he bound for Europe?
We don't want him
