Finn Brink. First time for me seeing him play was in sections and i immediately thought that he’d be an asset as a role player 3rd/4th line. He’s a tenacious forechecker, battles hard and seems to be strong on the puck. I saw more of the same in the two state games.
Also seems like he brings the intangible positive energy and likability that his teammates feed off.
Anyone else get the same read?
Nelson looks like a Knies in the making
I see more of a left-shooting Chris Pronger.

I'd like to hear the explanation on both because I disagree on both.
Ya, maybe if he starts murdering people in juniors you can say Pronger

Nelson is just physically dominant especially if you take into account that he’s only a sophomore. And a pair of hands to go with.
Nelson’s stride, posture, and powerful skating with deep knee bends look exactly like Chris Pronger to me.

Where will Gunderson play in the future?
Finn Brink looks like a 4 year, heart and sole, leader-type and fan favorite! Smart! Tenacious!
I see a lot of Aaron Miskovich in that Thoreson kid from Andover…
Nelson will definitely make a living playing hockey!!
The two wings on Andover’s top line (Conway and (drawing a blank)) both have college hockey in their futures.
Knox will definitely play D1 somewhere!

Casey was the other wing on that line.

Let’s make it happen
I have very little interest in Max Strand.
I dunno after a couple years of juniors he could be a good 4 year player, no?
Maybe….I see no reason to offer him soon. See how he does in juniors. I’d be willing to bet a handful of others will be better options after juniors.
I'd say the two top August 1 eligible are both on Shattuck Prep who appears to be a wagon this year
Celebrini - 96 points in 46 games
Eiserman - 71 points in 46 games
Read Celebrini might go to Chicago and then Michigan will obviously try to pull him a la Power/Brisson/Fantilli/Samoskevich

9 Minnesotans. Hensler the one I think will be the best.

I’m ready for Vanek 2.0!
Same here
Damn. How does he have a kid old enough for college?

He’d be13-15

I found it helpful as not everyone is aware of the age ranges of youth hockey.
Vanek 2.0 is not gonna happen. His kid is a good - very good player, but not a dominant player. Unless Blake Vanek makes a quantum leap in the next 3-4 years, Im not sure he’s even a D1 prospect.

Seen a lot of Stillwater bantam hockey? (honest question, not a jab)

Probably better that way, our recruits don’t fare well when they’re the best 12 year olds out there

Yes.

Apparently he played for Minnetonka Bantams in 8th grade so a bit more MN ties than just Shattuck.
Tonka had a senior this year with the last name Whipple. Hopefully they can keep Berchild.

Would like all of the uncommitted players here.

Is Slaggert related to the other at ND and what about Finn and Bobby Brink?

Yes and No
Specifically, yes on Slaggert and no on Brink.
Will he stay at forward now that high school is done?

I’ll take Laurila, Skahan and Hensler. Eiserman will be the big name on this team.

Nelson centering the top line and Musser looks like the starter
That whole top line is 5 star recruits
The coaches will really need to do even more homework on the kind of talent they pursue in the future because the easy use of the transfer portal hardly inspires patience and loyalty with certain types of prospects.
There may be occasions where the fans will get upset at a recruiting "loss" but never really understand that the recruit in question may have had a few red flags to a coach that might point to a quick exit if things don't go his way. Just something for people to keep in my mind when these recruiting conversations occur because certain fans (Not saying this about anybody specific... just saying in general) look at recruiting as being all about talent accumulation (versus smart team building).
It isn't just about talent accumulation.
But in the case of the Gophers being in a recruit's "final three", for example, can we assume those red flags have been taken into account and the staff clearly wants the player?
