but what does Bonin think of how this compares to Michigans class?

I feel like Snuggy signs just based on what Vegoe was saying at the beginning of the year that Jimmy debated signing after Cools signed.
I have a hard time seeing Snuggerud come back for another year. Motzko probably only wants him back if he's going to be all in with no doubts, you don't want a guy with one foot in and one foot out. After what happened with Cooley, it's kind of like you want to book him his plane ticket, drive him to the airport and make him turn it down.
I think it'd probably help him to be a three-year college player by rounding out his game so he can jump right into the league as a more complete player. Also being a leader on a team with experience is something that he'll skip unless he sticks around to be one of the older guys. You're seeing how easily Brock Faber has jumped into the NHL by staying three season and it certianly didn't hamper his development by sticking around another year of NCAA hockey. One of the biggest things everyone seems shocked with by Faber this season is how confident he is on the ice, how consistent he his with his decision making and how composed he is talking to the front office, coaches and media.
I rarely see Snuggerud as a guy who drives play when he's on the ice and he's still finding his voice. Snuggerud is a player who is always dangerous with his ability to shoot the puck, but it just feels like there's more there. The one thing that might make the move to the NHL easier is it looks like St. Louis needs a scoring winger. Buchenivich, Kyrou and Saad are a pretty good start -- Snuggerud probably has to compete with another 1st rd pick Jake Neighbours for top six mintues.

Well you must be wrong about the advantage of Snuggy staying, because MLHOUSE knows all when it comes to players futures. While I agree with you both that there is very low odds Snuggy returns, given the ultimate goal of most of these guys is to make the NHL, but I wouldn't put it at 0 either. There are other factors players may consider, like whether they truly believe they are ready to step into the level they want to be in the NHL. You make some good points about improvements he could still make in his game by staying. Also, I've had one former Gopher tell me several times how he regretted leaving early and missing out on some of the college experience because the NHL is a job and not nearly as fun. He would have traded one less year in the NHL for another year in college. Having a Dad who played college and NHL, Snuggy might be more willing to wait another year than a person without a Dad with that experience. And I don't think at this point whether you are a first rounder or second rounder is the determining factor of what an NHL team wants, it is all about how you are doing on the ice now. I wouldn't bet a dime on Snuggy staying, but wouldn't be saying it was a mistake if he stayed.
But we have half a season to go before we worry about it.

Well, I am solidly in the Get Off My Lawn cohort, but I am disappointed that high school coaches are referenced by their first name. When I was his age, my boss at Red Owl was Mr. Boughton. Aren't coaches considered to be bosses?
“He came on the ice Wednesday with a Gophers sweatshirt on,” O’Leary recalled. “I was dialing up a drill, and Jacob came up and said, ‘Hey Pat, I just wanted to let you know I’m the best Gopher on the ice now.’ I said, ‘I don’t know about that, Jake, but OK, buddy, congrats.’”
Yeah I think you need to refill the Metamucil and put the readers back on the nightstand with that take.
ETA: Just in good fun. Likely a generational thing.

August Falloon still out of the lineup for Tri City. Curious if Matthew Grimes returns after the extended break.
Grimes back for SF.

Javon Moore impressed me the last few days. I hadn’t been as high on him previously.
Silky hands, good vision, and can fire the puck.
And it’s a total cliche, but you can’t teach size.

Good night for Gopher recruits in the USHL. Gruba with 2G 1A and 6 SOG. That pickup is looking better and better every game. Hendrickson with a goal. Pahlsson with 1G 1A. Falloon returns from injury and puts 5 SOG.
An off night for Barto

Erik Pahlsson FIVE point night (2G 3A). Great late pickup.
Ziemer buried one against Michigan State as well

You gotta love the name "John Mustard" on that list. What a gift for whoever calls the games for Providence.

Hendrickson is absolutely on fire lately
Exciting freshman class coming in next year.
All future Gophers now have a point in this game except for John Whipple. He is slacking.

I think you could make a strong argument for most any player having the biggest impact both year one and over the course of their careers. Diverse group.
Leo Gruba is such an old-timey sounding hockey name - I love it.
Ziemer, Hendrickson and Reid all with another goal tonight. Pahlsson and Gruba score as well.
Hendrickson cannot be stopped this is awesome. Shades of Darby!

Must have been 4 or 5 kids playing for Tonka on the top 225 North America list.
Big rise for Moore. Looks like his game is really evolving.

I can attest for what I’ve seen this year. Elite vision and a cannon of a shot. And he’s huge
not sure I've seen him play. Is he an Anders Lee type power forward? Would love to have a kid like that in the corners and in front of the net.Big rise for Moore. Looks like his game is really evolving.

From what I’ve seen, he’s not super physical. Don’t mean that in a negative way, just more that he is a guy that is on the ice to create scoring opportunities for himself and others with his speed and vision.
I was at the Hill Murray/Minnetonka tilt a couple weeks ago and left thinking the Gophers got the best of the bunch! Moore certainly has the highest ceiling and is the one I would bet the most on to play in the NHL someday!
