Anyone have plans for a pregame get together near the arena?

we are at 4 hands rn but I think we’ll be hitting up the union station fan fest eventually.
If any of you Gopher fans at the frozen four are interested, meet at the giant wall of anheuser Busch kegs after the second period for a Gopher fan photo, and spread the word. I don’t know the section yet so if someone is in the arena, please share. I do know it’s at the bottom of an escalator and there’s a bud beer garden there. Go Gophers! 😁
PS main level.
The Enterprise Center doesn’t use Zamboni ice machines. I’m offended.

It’s full in here tonight too. Broncos turned out.
Looking at the roosters for BU & Western Michigan I count a total of 9 Players from Minnesota on the 2 teams. 6 from Michigan and 7 from Massachusetts .

I realize it's been over 40 years since I took a basic math class, but back then, 6 (WMU) + 7 (BU) was equal to 13, not 9.

I guess I didn't say what i was trying to say clearly. There are more players from Minnesota on the ice tonight than there are from either Michigan or Massachusetts .
Big group of Gopher fans represented tonight!
Good game and crowd was very happy for Western.
Good: the AC wasn't so cold and the crowd was very into the action. Drinks plentiful!
Bad: bathroom situation was worse tonight and beer lines slow between periods. Fan Fest was a joke- way too small of an area and kind of out of the way. Bars weren't staffed for college hockey fans and it showed.
Good trip but it's ok if the FF doesn't come back to St. Louis for 20+ more years.

Oops. I understand your post now. Out of the 40 players dressed in tonight's game, 9 were from MN, 7 were from MA, and 6 were from MI.
I guess I shouldn't post when drinking.

At one point I was starting to feel bad for BU…naw. The vast majority of the crowd loudly booing every single time a Boston fan was on the video screen was hilarious. They kept it up the entire game 😂.
We ended up surrounded by WM fans, many scrambled to be there for last nights game. 3 guys in front of us were so impressed by the excitement and all the fans there from other teams. They asked, is it always like this?
My cons for the event: Fan Fest just needs to be dropped, it gets more pathetic every year. Numerous food stands were closed resulting in even longer lines at the ones that were open. Witnessed the outrageous lines at the men’s bathrooms as I breezed into the women’s.
When people tell me I’ll regret not having kids, I say that’s okay I know a really good place to cry. It’s my vacation home.
We had a fantastic time and enjoyed several days with amazing friends! We had great food, visited several fun breweries and enjoyed the games. St. Louis was a great place to visit.
Someone we know has tried to tell us we are whioux fan-like for attending games in Gopher gear that we are not playing in. Some folks just don’t get it.
I think everyone that attends the Frozen Four regularly understands that whether your team is in the tourney or not, it is a place to proudly rep your colors, and it’s always fun to see the plethora of college hockey apparel from around the country, as well as jersies from other hockey leagues. We are there not only as Gopher fans, but fans of the game of hockey. As I’ve stated before, college hockey is the reason we know most of our best friends, and continue to make the annual trek to the Frozen Four together.
We are already excited about and planning for Vegas. You don’t have to be a fan of the town, but it’s never hard to seek out a good time with friends wherever the event may be.
As you can tell from the photo above, there are a lot of die hard Gopher fans who love the game of college hockey (and that was just a fraction of the Gopher fans representing).
Watching the college season end is always a little bittersweet but we know in a few short months we’ll get to do it again; and despite who is on the team, the color of the jersey they wear, or what opponents they may play, we’ll be there in our maroon and gold cheering them on.
‘Twas a fun season, even if it didn’t end with the on top. College hockey is the greatest game there is. Enjoy the off-season, and maybe you’ll join us next year for a photo of the best fans there are. 😁
Not wear your team jersey or sweatshirt? That’s just a bizarre comment. Do they not walk the concourses or areas around the arena? TONS of people wear their home colors proudly. Your comment is correct. We all love college hockey. Our new WM friends were very surprised and happy at all the new fans their team had last night. As far as I’m concerned that’s the whole 🤬point of the Frozen Four.

Right?!
This person doesn’t go to the Frozen Four unless the Gophers are in it. The minute we lose our last game, the college hockey season is over too in their mind. Fine, but don’t tell us what we are doing is wrong just because you choose not to participate.
They do not understand the spirit of the Frozen Four, and that there is a lot more to it than just the game itself. 🤷♀️

Yeah, you're right and that person is wrong. During the regular season I would agree not to wear something to a game that isn't one of the two teams. For the NCAA tourney though you definitely show your team affiliation. It's more a statement of I support college hockey and here is my team. It means al ot to show up and support the event even if your team is not present.
It’s not really comparable since travel was pretty minimal but the years we didn’t make the final five I still went for all the other reasons and invested in the hotel 3 nights. The Sioux fans at that time were everything I expected, holding up signs “where are the gophers?” And being arrogant pricks everywhere I went with my jersey on. All part of it but like mentioned, it’s about pride and even though not our year, now it’s about just being a fan of college hockey.
too much fun in Des Moines last night
I'm only commenting because I own a map...why in the hell did you go that far out of the way to go to Des Moines? There is that whole Avenue of the Saints road thing you know! 🤣
We went home through Cedar Rapids. Surprisingly expensive town ($25 cocktails at our hotel bar and 4$ for a brewery sticker?!) But another good night! The Big Grove brewery is quite the space. And what a beautiful night to have a beer in an outdoor patio with a fire and an NHL game on in the background.

I've heard good things about Big Grove, it seems they do put some money into their taprooms. Don't tell your Gopher football friends you went there...BG is a big Iowa Hawkeye supporter.
