That’s a 5
2 things illegal the last few years:
1. Scoring on a breakaway or penalty shot.
2. Stopping a breakaway
We coulda used that Kurth clean breakaway
Did Clymer just say he has kids…?…lord help us all
ZIEMER ON THE POWER PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3-3
That was spectaculars
Ziemer with his two goals tonight is up to 7 for the season. Airey got an assist.
Clark gets punched in the face…no call
Often times you shorten the bench late in a tight game so is coach going to go with only 6 forwards? 😉 😀
We have Overtime.
I think a Ziemer hat trick game winner would be fitting.
Now with it being 3 on 3 we don't need as many forwards. 😉
It would be fun. But I will take anyone for the win.We have Overtime.

I believe they changed the lighting at Mariucci last summer. It sure looks a lot darker on TV than it use to. How does it looked in the arena?
Hated the grey jerseys!
Why did Moore stop skating after passing it to Chesley?
Game ends in a 3-3 tie.
Is it just me or do the Gophers just skate around like doofuses sometimes in OT and let the other team just take it from under their sticks...? Isn't the idea in OT that it's 100% about possession, moving the puck until you find a shot?
Definitely losing the shootout
gawd they are awful at shootouts!
Definitely losing the shootout
Yep. That went exactly as expected. Can we bet on these and never have to work again?
Painful one. Augustine clear first star. Was outstanding for mich st. Probably deserved better but get some sleep guys and get it done tomorrow for the series win
Augustine taunts the student section after winning the ‘dog and pony show’ competition.
Keep your stick on the ice...

I will argue that we are used to watching NHL 3X3 OT where it’s some of the best players in the world who have worked on it for years. It’s well oiled machine. It doesn’t look as pretty in the college game. That said, the skill level we have at forward and D should really give us a big advantage but it looks like we rarely practice it…..?
Hell of an effort tonight. Gophers out shoot Michigan State 43-32 with only 9 forwards.

Bad ice and dead tired,
Wouldn’t make much of it
Good effort from the Gophers. Augustine is really really good.
At least Michel will have plenty in the tank tomorrow!
@bigbeer was a tap in if he skates to the post but imagine he’s dead
So one of the fastest guys on the team didn’t have 3 more hard strides in him to give the goalie something to think about?
have you played before? Think we all have had that moment. Yeah you’d love for him to find it but you’d also love Chesley to come center to open both sides
That isn’t meant to be critical of you, but its easy for us to say from the stands when you could see we were fried in the late game after every thirty second shift
The Gophers have 16 wins, 1 lost, and 2 ties in the last 19 games against Michigan State.
If Michigan State can't beat us when we have only 9 forwards I really like our chances if we are ever even relatively healthy.
I got nothing but positive things to say about the boys tonight. Wish they could have stuck one in at the end, but what a gutsy performance. I think they were the better team on the ice tonight. That is crazy when skating 9 forwards against the number 2 team in the country. I think the refereeing was suspect for a couple calls and that ended up costing it, but hell of a game
The expected goals tonight was Gophers 5.4 to Michigan State 3.3
To do that with only 9 forwards says a lot about this team.
Sounds like Wood might be back in tomorrow? That’d be a nice shot in the arm.

43 shots and a million scoring chances.
Lots of positives from tonight
Wally says Wood is on his way back and will play if travel.cooperates.

Agree - glad to see them find the equalizer in the 3rd and force OT. Ziemer worked his tail off tonight & Airey made some big saves in OT. Regroup tomorrow and empty the tank. Solid effort tonight
Yes.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Penalty trouble and Augustine cost them a win tonight. Gophers were (are) the better team.
I think Wood is going to be pissed about not making the Canadian World Junior team after making it last year.
This will be extra motivation to have a really good second half of the season. He already leads the team in assists and is 3rd on the team in points (Kurth passed him tonight for 2nd by one point).

Gutty performance.
Moore going head first into the boards in the third scared the hell out of me, glad he’s ok.
One criticism, and not just tonight, they can be a little cavalier with the puck in the D zone.
Huglen was awesome tonight.
MN got in trouble in the second when they started losing face off. Started winning more and the game tilted back.

My 2 cents worth--
Ziemer is going to be fun to watch the next few years. Seems like a heart and soul type of player.
Huglen was great tonight. Maybe it's old man strength, but he really can keep possession of the puck.
Lamb was also very active tonight. Continues a great JR year.
Airey played fine. Made some really tough saves. But, I will expect Souliere tomorrow.
Now some criticism--
I think Snuggy struggled tonight. Maybe trying to do too much. 1 example was with about a minute left he lost the puck on the boards going away from the net, when he should have tried to dump it down low. It lead to a rush the other way.
The PK needs work.
Michel has been solid all year, but he can't take a 5 in a game when we are already short.
The Gophers did not look good in OT. Maybe fatigue, but they are normally much better.
Gophers went toe to toe with them. Solid effort and a winnable game. Can't be too mad because of the circumstances. Rest up boys, and empty the tank tomorrow.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
The only thing I didn’t like tonight was the 3x3 overtime. That’s because I just don’t like 3x3 overtime. Needs to go back to at least 4x4. This possession puck cycling nightmare they call hockey is atrocious.
Really proud of the team tonight and hope they have enough left for tomorrow. Would love to get at least 3 points on the weekend and no injuries.
Glad they get 3 weeks off after tomorrow and hope the weather cooperates enough to get there.
I admit I didn't watch the game but I see nothing to be negative about. 24 hours ago no one would have complained about this outcome based on the circumstances.
