Teams aren’t ready for the Gophers in game 1 of a weekend series. Blowout win Friday with a closer game Saturday.

The Tommies aren't exactly an inspiring opponent. These can be trap games...the better team goes in expecting a cake walk and finds out too late the other team has some fight in them. The Gophers started both games that way, but to their credit, didn't panic and played through it. It helps that they have 4 lines that can score, a huge luxury rarely seen in hockey at any level.
I doubt they'll underestimate league opponents (hope not).

since the brutal stretch that ended a gopher season or two where we went 1-10-1 against PSU, the gophers have been 14-3 with a score of 62-36.
sweep here to keep it rolling would be huge but if you want to be a big ten title contender, has to be at least a win/OTL series. we only swept 2 big ten series last year (PSU at home, OSU at home) and only 4 series all together. sweeping in the B10 is always a challenge, but this is a pretty meh PSU team on paper

I feel like Penn State is going to take a lot of bad shots and make the goalies look better than they are. The Russian Goalie they got looks pretty good.
I feel like there is one game a year where Gadowsky wants to try and run and gun against us. It hasn't ended well lately. Will be curious if they play responsible hockey to start or if they need to learn that lesson again.

He and Begley a pretty clear #8 and #9 in the defensive pecking order. Likely not getting any time unless a player above them is absent. Even though it may be prudent to roll with Mittelstaedt or Falloon as a 13th forward.

Fink is a dangerous player but after that nothing really scares me. They have a few nice young pieces on the come up but they’re probably a year or so away from being factors again.

I share your prediction but there will be somewhere along this run we probably catch some hot goaltending and/or come out a little lackadaisical. It’s a long season to be aggressively locked in all year and rolling up 5 spots nightly. That said PSU is a team that you should have a good chance to do it against regardless of how they try play us

I think you may be out of luck. Jess was the only one recording/streaming it. I only record when I am there and that is only for the games I attend. I cannot attend every home game to do it a well.

No doubt the Omaha game shook the webs loose a bit but given that Omaha has been having their lunch handed to them it couldn't have come at a better time... as in early. No team takes laser focus into every game for the entire long season but there is no room for any team to have any long lag periods in this season either. The BIG is strong but so are a couple other conferences so we cannot completely rely on our conference schedule which makes these non conference games important regardless of who we play. The cloud has been holding tight to a good ranking and I think UMD will only improve which should help us. UST same. We need to do better than split with conference foes. Like I said, on repeat, win when you should and steal a few and this team will see success. So far we are 90% winning games we should. Might need more than 90%

What are you talking about? I already paid for Big+, but I have a buddy who is willing to give me a six pack every time the Gophs sweep his Alma mater of Pedo state. He does not subscribe but he is one of those annoying fans who isn't a huge PSU hockey fan but will be sure to point out to me if they get lucky and win one against the Gophs (slightly less annoying if the person is actually a fan) so I'd rather not offer to have him come over and watch on the slight chance the Gophs lose. So if I could direct him to a free B1G+ that would be good. (Or was that the offer that expired long ago?)

Another B1G+ question. I've only watched games in real time. If you start streaming late can you go back and start at beginning without knowing score? Or if you tune in after game is over to watch, does app just list the game as so and so vs so and so on this date? Or do they have the score in the title so you can't watch without knowing outcome? Still figuring out this streaming stuff. Wish more games were on TV channels I get so could just record.

First, there’s an option in settings on the app to “hide scores.” Turn that on now.
Second, you can either watch live, or wait until the game is over. You can’t start an hour after the game has started and watch from the beginning. But if you wait until the game is over, then you can watch the whole game from the start, skipping commercials, etc.

They don’t show scores on the app, I don’t think I had to change any setting to make that happen but you can always check that before the game and see if any scores show up in yours. IDK when you plan to watch the game but if you’re watching after it’s over it shouldn’t spoil anything. I’ll defer to the guy above me as far as trying to watch midway through the game, I forget if that’s possible or not and would have to test it.

Penn St definitely remembers how last season ended. They should be a motivated group this weekend but I’m not sure it matters tonight. I think we’re gonna see a lot of lopsided Friday scores, especially through the first time around the Big 10. Not sure teams are prepared for what this Gophers team is all about til they get their feet under them and by then it’s already 3-0.

And I'm thinking it might be Peacock where you can slide the bar to get to the beginning. Still is risky because you need to do this without seeing score on screen. I also feel like once the stream ended, no matter where you were in the game, it ended for you and you had to wait to watch the rest once they posted the video of the completed game. But my memory sucks so not sure if this is right.
That Falloon/Hendrickson swap seems very deliberate and I like it. The Moore-Ziemer line needs some weight to it.
