JFC what saves by BOTH goalies!

I just found this
The Gophers have played quite a few teams/schools I've never even heard of. Maybe @greyeagle will tell us about the big win over Cook and Sons. 😉 😀

Goal Minnesota 6-2
Pahlsson with an empty net shorthanded goal.
6-2
Yayz

I didn't think the team played great after the first period but won 6-2. Pahlsson looked great. Whipple and Wood I'd like to see more good hockey from.
A job done. Not well done, but done. I agree, after the first...we need more focus.

Pahlsson with a goal and 2 assists
Snuggy, Kurth, and Wood each with a goal and an assist
Luke Mitts and Rinzel each with 2 assists
Lamb and John Mitts each with a goal
Huglen and Koster each with an assist
Airey 20 saves of 22 shots (91%)
Thought Snuggerud had a great game tonight. Won lots of puck battles and made some very nice passes.
Getting Pahlsson back helps a lot.
Mercyhurst coming into tonight was averaging 2.3 goals per game while giving up 3.7 goals per game.
The Gophers won 6-2 without 30% of their regular skaters (forwards/defensemen).
I don't think anyone really is...

The Gophers have looked rusty coming back from break seemingly every year of my Gopher hockey fandom and this year was no exception. No real jump from the Gophers for most of the night, seemed like they knew they were more talented and could likely win this game with their eyes closed.
If they looked this disinterested against a Big 10 opponent I’d be more concerned. Win tomorrow then get back to playing Gopher hockey next weekend against a good Ohio State team!
"It's a Hat Trick of Hat Tricks"Let's match the women's hockey tonight, huh? C'mon, guys! 😀
I was thinkin maybe the 2003 regional game here?
I was at that game I've never seen a college D1 game that was that one sided.
Alabama Huntsville might disagree. 😂
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Yeah it’s not always gonna be pretty especially after a long break. Games like this you just need to take care of business, there’s no style points for winning 10-0 or whatever. I imagine tomorrow’s game will be cleaner and we hear the battle hymn after. The Gophers have looked rusty coming back from break seemingly every year of my Gopher hockey fandom and this year was no exception. Interesting that they went back to the 3 time outs per period for last nights game. I have a feeling on why they did that though. I know Bob prefers the way it used to be and being short handed, it gives the players a bit more time to rest. Makes sense on his end. I also noticed it was a skeleton crew of ice scrapers. They just did the goal areas and not along the benches during the 10 minute stoppage and did not even come out during the 5 minute ones.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
@slap-shot Whipple was a liability early in the year but the kid has improved a ton as he has adjusted to the speed of the game. Sometimes I feel like I’m watching a different game than certain posters.

Does tv have any say with that?
Keep your stick on the ice...

I know the B1G does during conference games, but IIRC, when the Gophers played the other non conference home games this year they stuck with the 1 timeout per period and I think those games were on Fox9 as well. Not a huge deal, but thought it was interesting.

Doesnt a band need to be there to play the Battle Hymn😉
Lot of random negative nellies in here. Thought they were fine. Think people don’t realize how much energy they can draw from the crowd and when you’re missing the student section f and just back from break with this opponent while down a quarter of your guys, shocking it would be sluggish. The wins and staying healthy are all that matters this weekend. Would like to see wood score one off his stick to get him going and whipple begley or michel score to get them on the books for their careers
what is nevers injury?
the one thing that I can't stand this year is the PK its so passive no pressure ever and its so easy to be in front of are net its just soft all around.
Wait... are you suggesting that a freshman needed to play half a season or so to really get into the groove? Say it isn't so!@slap-shot Whipple was a liability early in the year but the kid has improved a ton as he has adjusted to the speed of the game. and a freshman defenseman who was supposed to be the 7th D at that 😅

if you’re saying he has found his groove, I think you are mistaken.
If you're saying he's still a liability every time he's on the ice, I'd say you're the one that's mistaken.Wait... are you suggesting that a freshman needed to play half a season or so to really get into the groove? Is Whipple at his peak yet? Of course not, but he's far from a liability, he's pretty much where I'd expect a freshman D to be at this stage of his career.

so will the Gophers switch in net tonight?
Aloha!
so will the Gophers switch in net tonight?
With the exception of one weekend, they have all year. I don't expect tBob to go away from that now.

Someone at the U must follow GPL, putting Whipple on the Tweet like that 😆

Real nice play with Michel as well on the Snuggy goal.

Snuggy: Who needs Cooley and Knies? When you have Nick Michel!!!
Snuggy sets up Huglen for a wide open goal and some how Aaron misses the wide open net.
Goal Chesley 3-0
Chesley from the point his 6th of the season.
3-0
Methinks tBob delivered a post game message last night...

Michel's first Gopher goal.
