It doesn't get any easier. Michigan will be fired up after being swept by the BADgers. Games will be only be streamed on B1G+ this weekend.
Michigan is 5-4-1 this year
Minnesota is 4-3-1 this year

Kinda crazy that Gophers vs Michigan won't be televised.
With the Big Ten adding four non hockey schools it will only become more common.
Any sports bars with Big+?
It's online streaming only, so I doubt it.Any sports bars with Big+?
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
You'd have to find some rando bar to be willing to hookup a laptop. I know the old Senser's in Roseville did that once for a Gophers game...the results weren't great, but they were good enough.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
We shared a great deal to get 50% off of B1G+ not too long ago. It was a bargain at $30 for the season or the next time your account renewed.
Streaming is the direction this is going. Gotta get on board if you want to see games in the future.
Do not like how this board is run?
Get your own board!

The list of players who need to break through has shrunk to just Kurth (and maybe Nevers). Still can’t believe 10 missed that one in overtime.

The replies to your tweet are just insane. So many people just refuse to understand. But you are completely right.
Both sides can be right.
The reality side is college hockey is niche and will continue to go more and more streaming. Many others sports are doing the same.
But at the same time the customer's opinion should always be respected, and the experience as a college hockey fan has not gotten better over the last 10 years. It has gone the other way.
Must split weekend at minimum if they want to keep pace in big ten and makeup for the Wisconsin egg they laid. Tough opponent who will be extra pissed off. Hoping to see the Gophers play 120 minutes of good hockey and see where the chips fall
Both teams 1 game over 500 record either team gets swept could be scary
Aloha!

You may try a local Buffalo Wild Wings. I thought the one by campus had games on from B1G+. I would call around to make sure though.

2+ hours at a bar watching the game would cost more than the B1G+ subscription fee.

A sweep against on their home ice is a rarity indeed, but Minnesota didn't show up to play the first night. That was a throw-away game rife with errors and an utter lack of defensive effort. The second night, they deserved better but couldn't separate themselves on the scoreboard. It cost them.
If the Gophers play to their ability, they are good enough to sweep or split at a minimum. It shouldn't matter who they play. Sure, Michigan needs a win. But so do the Gophers. I'm just looking for Minnesota to give an effort defensively. Last weekend, it was common to see the Gopher forwards digging out pucks in the corners--their own corners. When teams do that, they win.
Hastings is playing Mankato hockey with more skill, and he will be tough to beat year after year. If I were a Red fan, I would be pretty jacked up.

agreed on all accounts. Said it after we played them but Wisconsin will be there at the end and has to be a “hot” pick to win it all at some real good odds. They’re a good team this year and that style is hard to crack, though I don’t think they’ll blow a ton of peiple out, which makes it challenging in a one and done to have the bounces line up.
Didn’t we sweep them last year at Mich?
Aloha!
It was reported Michigan forward and St. Thomas Academy alum Jackson Hallum is out for the season after a knee to knee hit that went uncalled in one of the Wisconsin games. Hate seeing that kind of stuff.

That stinks.

Yes - wasn’t that the weekend where Fantilli & most of michigan’s top guys didn’t play? Some kind of illness that went around their program?
I remember seeing a lot of mich fans on social media try rationalizing how that weekend didn’t really count since they didn’t have a full roster… Which is laughable considering we had guys that didn’t play either (Huglen & Closer come to mind)
Yeah they had a nasty string of respiratory viruses go through around the time we played them. One kid was on a ventilator.

Tough break. Hallam is fun to watch. Heal up.
Hurts them but forward depth is not a problem for them and fellow Minnesotan Garrett Schifsky has stepped right in and produced. He'll get even more playing opportunity now.

It bugs me when people report injuries or anything of the sort in that manner. “A knee to knee hit that went uncalled”. Not every injury is a penalty and knee to knee hits happen that are not penalties which is why they are reviewable.
But watching that video in real time without the aid of slowing it down or multiple angles certainly looked like Lucius stuck his leg out which should be called.

Looks to me like he turned his butt/hip into Hallum. You can slow it down by pausing before the hit, then drag the video progress bar and you can see him turning.
It looks clean to me... just Cruz Lucius is becoming a little punk.
Keep your stick on the ice...
I agree that it looks pretty clean honestly. Very unfortunate outcome.

It wasn't even Lucius that made the hit. He picked up the puck.

Correct, Lucius is right handed, the player that made the hit was left handed.

#19 delivered the hit according to to the number on the back of the jersey. and per wisco’s roster that is Quinn Finley. Lucius was the one that picked up the puck afterward.
I have to think at least 6 goals get scored each night in this series.
The optimist in me would love to say we’ll see a Gopher sweep this weekend. Especially with how played against UMD and the fact that we already are having to play catch up against Wisconsin. But throw that against what I’m sure is a pissed off group of wolverines I feel like this series has sweep written all over it.
Did someone get hurt at practice this week or am I reading into this?
Bob said on the radio with PA today that “we were back to full strength for one week and that it was short-lived”.
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/paul-allen/id1253616150?i=1000634292670
If he said that surely someone is out.
Can’t have nothing nice.
Bob mentioned a little flu bug going around in his radio show with Wally. Could be that.
Just better hope it's only one player and that player is not named Snuggerud/Moore/Nelson/Pitlick/Koster/Rinzel. Twitter pics showed Rinzel getting on the plane, at least.
Michigan power play is second in the nation and a machine: 37%
Staying out of the box is the number one key this weekend.
Damn. Terminal 1 is busier than I'm used to at this time of night. Whenever I've flown this late it's almost always been walk up, drop bag, go right through security. Both checkpoints were 15 mins.
Huglen out

I resemble that. Missed going to the series last year due to work, this year due to illness as well. ?
Even though we didn’t need it for our games when we purchased it, that BTN+ season discount is looking pretty good right about now.
That loss will hurt because Michigan's top 3 C are Brindley, Hughes, Nazar
Gopher top 3 C will be Nelson, Moore and Lamb? Clark?
Hmmmmmm did @cowgirl get Huglen sick? During last week's games I noticed a woman sitting behind the Gopher bench coughing. ? ?
What is the big+ discount code? I didn’t think I was gonna need it so I didn’t sign up when Jup was advertising it.

I would envision so as well. O/U Line at draft kings out at 7 (!)
