Their logo is a loser, too.

Not even sure what it is...or does.

Okay, I can get behind that. But I don't like the way it translates onto their jerseys.

Cooley gets his first NHL point with the 2nd assist (power-play) on the 'yotes 2nd goal.

Hope Comber does well in Anaheim. Should get plenty of playing time/opportunities there I’d imagine - anyone know if he’s getting much for ice time or looks on special teams?

LaCombe is playing on the 3rd pair with Gudas.  Hasn't played at all on the PP but oddly enough leads all their defensemen in PK time.  Also leads their dmen in XGF%, SCF, and HDSCF at even strength.

Cooley looked very good in his debut - 2nd assist is at the end of the video.. a lot of good chances with 92 on the ice.

Close enough, dunno where else to put this. Adam Johnson had a serious accident on the ice, blade to the throat. He has passed on. 🙁

Our community is devastated tonight. I was at the arena when we got word. It is heartbreaking and made watching our kids play very difficult. My prayers are with his family and so many I know who are grieving tonight.

From what I can tell, the report that he has passed is false and there hasn’t been any official source yet. That’s what I’m going to hold on to until there is something official. It’s a devastating injury no matter what and I’m just praying he makes it through.

As of now none of the stories I've read have said he's passed, but there has been very little else shared since and probably for good reason.

Prayers for a recover. Ugh how awful.

The British Broadcasting Corporation reported that the injury was a skate cut to the neck and that screens were erected around Johnson to allow paramedics to work. Johnson was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

La Dilla Pequeña had a scrimmage today, and I couldn't get what happened to Adam Johnson out of my head.  She's always worn a neck guard, but I think she was the only one out of both teams doing so.

And yes, I've seen the video.  DON'T WATCH IT.

I wonder if more players will start wearing one now.  Makes me think about it, cuz stupid stuff happens all the time in beer league hockey.
I did watch the video.  I’m curious if the other guy flipped around after trying to hit Johnson’s teammate or just had the most awkward attempt at a check ever.
Either way, such a tragic outcome.

Tragic and disturbing. Remember, Malarchuk survived largely due to it happening right by the exit to the locker rooms, and having a US Army combat medic that served in Vietnam on the bench. Ish.

I got to see him play when the penguins played the wild at the X a few years back. My buddy and I started talking to the people behind us and they were Adam Johnson’s former classmates (from middle school or high school I forget). If I remember correctly they bought tickets because it was his NHL debut and He scored a goal in that game, needless to say they were super excited and proud of him. Thinking of them today, it’s really sad and another reminder of how fragile life is.

I haven't watched, and don't plan to, but definitely a tragic outcome.

I remember a Gopher/Mankato game a number of years ago where Blake Wheeler was tripped from behind on a breakaway, and the way he fell, his skates ended up a bit forward, slicing the hand (wrist/something?) of the Goalie. Weird stuff can happen on the ice.  Neck Guards are a VERY good idea.  For EVERYONE.

I'll never forget that play and the immediate feeling of dread hoping that the situation was not going to become more serious then it eventually did. And of course the MSU fans iirc claiming Wheeler did it no purpose.

Ahh yes, Dan Tormey.  That is what kick started Mike Zacharias' career as the starter in goal at MSU.

Much like how they claimed/some still claim that Brian Schack stomped Channing Boe to break his leg.  I think admittedly though that Schack was looking for a reason to even up things after the Cows took out Tony Lucia that game.

First l, this was scary.  Thankfully scary enough to convince my boys to finally wear undershirts with neck guards.  They arrive in Th.

Second, I wasn’t going to watch the video but I saw a post on Twitter that this happened due to an intentional kick.  I saw a slowed down version of the video and it very much looks like the opponent raised his leg intentionally to kick Adam high with his skate.  There are also reports this player has a history of being a dirty player.  Stay tuned for possible first in game murder.

I've seen this sentiment around the net, but I just can't make myself believe it.  There's NO WAY to make your body contort itself that way in just the right motion at just the right time with your opponent in just the right place to do that.  It's the worst timing imaginable, and Johnson lost his life because of it.  I gotta think the other player is in a full-blown crisis, and the last thing he needs is people accusing him of murder.

I don't recall ever seeing a player's leg lift like this either.  He shifts his body to put 100% of his weight on his left leg to make a move to Adam, then he shifts his body weight to his right leg, lowers his torso and lifts his left left high into the air.  To me he was at best trying to kick him with his shin guard.

How absolutely horrifying. There's no way I will be watching any video of the incident. I saw the Clint Malarchuk video one time and never again after that. My heart goes out to everyone involved.

I really don't want to think about it as I'm still heartbroken. I don't recall ever hearing anyone die due to an on ice accident in my lifetime. And the first one was a Minnesotan that did everything we grow up dreaming of doing... Played for his HS team, Mr. Hockey finalist, went to his local WCHA school, and then played in the NHL on a team with the best hockey player in the world in this century.

I never want to watch that video and I hope my wife doesn't stumble across it, either. We have generally thought about hockey as a very safe sport should we have kids that play sports. Though it's still fairly safe, they would be wearing neck protection 100%.

RIP Adam. I will be at the game Friday, and hope everyone takes the moment of silence to really think about life and this game we love so much.

I also have no desire to seek this one out. Heck I don't even like seeing a leg snap or whatever and won't watch such clips when they inevitably show up on Twitter.
