Obviously we didn’t see them play at a consistent high level all weekend but kudos for coming out in the 3rd & finding a win. Some positives here, some negatives there but clearly this weekend should be a wake up call & hopefully that message comes across in practice this week.
Personally, I’ll be more interested in seeing how they respond next weekend against Michigan. That should tell us a lot more about this team than a sub-par weekend vs. a NC opp. that, despite how ugly it was at times, did end in a win & tie. Hopefully Bob’s message resonates & we see a more complete weekend.
1-0-1 is the only real positive this weekend. Lots to build for prior to next weekend
Overall, we run into a team that will run a grinding system that stifles an offensive system like we run, see tUMD, and we seem to not (overall) be able to adapt. We seem to try and force our system against those teams, and hey, doesn't work all the time.
What was it, that last PP in tonight's game, they went 1-3, 3 on the blue line standing like soldiers at attention, until we moved forward, THEN they took formation for a PK. OBVIOUS what kind of team they are.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Games will start to open up more in December. I expect Mariucci to be rockin the next few weekends!
His antics/acting are very similar. He has been trash talking the Gophers through out both games. He did it again after Snuggy's stick breaks on the break away.
He was a trashy version of former DU goalie Sinuhe Wallinheimo.

I also attended the coach talk with Bob yesterday. The U has really improved the event from years past when they served snack mix and lemonade. They actually had a food spread. I think they must have opened it up for more people, as this was the most fans that have attended in the many years I have attended. Lots of good stories from Bob ( some off the record ) and events like this really shows the kind of guy Bob is. He covered a variety of topics including NIL, CHL, Minnesota recruiting, scholarship limits, shootouts and more. I will share that they will not be making a trip to Fairbanks as a return for them coming here. I would highly recommend if you ever get a chance to attend one of these do it.
I was recently informed by a GPLer that I'm related to Airey
The thing about acting the taunting fool is that it only works when you win in the end. Someday, the ersatz Wallinheimo might learn that lesson. His antics/acting are very similar. The shorty turned the game around, and it was obvious Minnesota came out of the break like hungry lions that found the weakest of the herd.
Huglen is playing the best hockey of his Gophers' career, and Lamb has taken up the mantle as a scoring leader. Thankfully, his injury looked only a thousand times as bad as it was.

I would suggest it was the goalie's antics at the end of two when the penalty was called and subsequent jawing with Lamb that really got them going and it carried over to the 3rd and the shorty.
100% on Huglen, he's a pleasure to watch.
If Moore had any puck luck he'd be leading the team in scoring by a wide margin, he has definitely elevated his game each weekend and is wicked fun to watch. The between the legs pipe shot in the 2nd was amazing....could not imagine the crowd volume if that had gone in.

Ugly weekend but at least they got some luck while crashing the net and eventually figured out how to score enough to win. Seemed like another one of those games where the refs were determined to not call anything and it was going to be a grind. Oliver Moore stood out which was good to see.
Even I saw the clutch and grabs and I feel like I miss everything on the ice... 🤣
