I don’t think I can remember a player who has improved more over the course of a season than Gruba. Early in the year he looked noticeablely overmatched and he’s playing as well as any of our dmen now.

I guess the only good thing about that is we get to watch them again tomorrow? Thought the guys played pretty well this weekend, just seems like we made Notre Dame look like a top ten team not a 10 win team.

The stretch pass Chesley made to Kurth who then got it to Wood for the goal that put us up 3-1 was SICK (as stated by Kurth).
That game more or less went how yesterday should've gone with slightly better luck and goaltending. IDK who starts tomorrow but they should be able to win either way. It'd be a lot easier if they get a lead for once though and actually force Notre Dame to play hockey, rather than their strategy to sell out on D and hope the gophers score on themselves.

Part of it is just Notre Dame selling out to protect a lead and more or less playing the same game when it was 1-1. Reminds me of some of those really bad soccer teams in the World Cup who just put 10 guys in the box and play for a tie. Get a 2 goal lead and this team probably routs them. That game opened up so much more when the gophers got a 2-1 lead.I guess the only good thing about that is we get to watch them again tomorrow? No, Notre Dame isn’t a great team this year but as many have said, it’s never easy to end someone’s season. I thought the Gophers looked good tonight but ND was solid and didn’t quit. Tomorrow will be fun!

Normally I would agree. But the 1st and 3rd goals were alarming.
That being said, the second goal has been my biggest concern heading into the NCAA tourney. Soulie is consistently getting beat top corner, glove side. Many times with a wide open view to the shooter. Teams have this scouted and are clearly attacking it.
This series is straightforward in my opinion. I would start Airey Saturday. If we win and he is mediocre you go back to Soulie Sunday. If Airey plays lights out and we win you stick with Airey Sunday.
The tough decision will be who you start the quarterfinal round.
Too lazy to type this again. Also note Airey stopped the top corner glove side at a pivotal moment. Run him back tonight.
Have to hand it to ND, they are tenacious. I was confident going in that we would win last night given our ability to control play in the O zone, but man does ND transition well and create chances seemingly out of nothing. Have to say I’m not as confident tonight. Game 3 it may be tough to keep the energy level up although I also saw a lot of gassed ND defenders after some of our periods of sustained pressure. Think it is going to be sloppier tonight for game 3 and from what I’ve seen that might favor ND. Say has been impressive. Guess we’ll see who is the fitter team tonight.
I do like what Kurth said about how they learned from Friday night about how to try and score on Say. Didn’t feel like they were trying to be as cute last night and tried to get pucks to the net, which was tough.
Also, I think I figured out how to fix our power plays. Just put the fourth line out there and tell them to play 5x5 hockey. ND will never touch the puck…

Yep. Sergeev has the ability to steal the tournament for Penn State. On the other hand, the ultimate goal here is a Natty and having them face Penn State now will only help them later when it REALLY counts….

WTH is wrong at the Star Tribune? This is the second day in a row they’ve printed an incorrect score for the Gopher men. Yesterday they had the score of 6-2. Today it’s 4-3? Later in the story they get it right, but the headline score is a mistake.
When people tell me I’ll regret not having kids, I say that’s okay I know a really good place to cry. It’s my vacation home.
