You have to be kidding me.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
This is what happens when you don’t take your chances
Gophers have been taking chances, putting pressure on, but nothing going Snuggie hit a pipe, and their goalie has made some decent saves.

THERE WE GO!

Huge tip from Wood there. Massive boost
WOOD with a sweet tip on the Power Play!!!!!
Rinzel dancing on the blue line and then gets the shot through. He can definitely do some sweet things with the puck.
Glad Matthew was able to get some WOOD on that shot from the point! Lol

glad to see him have one work after a brutal pass to let ND clear prior. We need him playing his best
Didn’t we score on soulierre when he was with Penn with a similar first shot of the game?
Scoring chances in the first period were Gophers 11, Notre Dame 3
It was really 11 to 2 but when a goal is scored you have to call it a scoring chance even if it is from center ice.
IMHO, Notre Dame came out giving it their all. Skating as hard as they could, taking extra strides to make sure they hit a gopher every time we touched the puck. Teams usually can’t hold that level of intensity throughout the entire game. They looked like they started slowing down in the second half of the period. I am not disappointed in the Gophers effort, they are skating and making plays. If they continue to play like this for the rest of the game I believe they will be victorious. Go Gophers!
JESUS EFFING CHRIST.
Airey is in now.

OMG!
wtf Souli
Souly done. That’s not a great sign for confidence
He was playing like complete sh*.

i agree. More meaning it makes me concerned about soulys mindset which is worrisome given we just started the playoffs
Can’t be making stupid mistakes like this
Soulie woulda let that one in. 😉

Kill the penalty and get back to attacking. Just keep plugging away. Get the next one!
Soulie woulda let that one in. 😉
all he was missing today was one he shot directly into the net himself
I don’t know what rinzel is doing to even allow that play to come to fruition. Going to be in a hell of a lot of trouble if they give up another one when this is already in a bad spot
It’s getting to the point I just wonder how good we make goalies look with how many guys just have career games against us
Of all the slashes that they haven’t called on Notre Dame, they called that one! 😆
@upnorthkid Yep. Not the time of year for goaltending questions.
Hard work will beat talent, if talent doesn't work hard.
On both College Hockey News and USCHO
Airey is listed at 6'3" 175 lbs
Souliere is listed at 5'11 180 lbs
To me it looks like there is more of a difference in size between the two goalies then what is listed. Coach mentioned their difference in size as the reason he let Airey play both game against Notre Dame earlier this season.
If Airey gets a chance to play and gets hot. 🤔 A big goalie who is on his game and TOUGH!!!!!
Denver's goalie was below average in the regular season last year but got hot in the playoffs.
It will be interesting to see who get the start tomorrow.
Does coach start Airey tomorrow and give him the chance to get hot?
Is it possible that MSU sent Souliere here as a double agent? Told him to come win the job and then give it up in the playoffs? 😉
Just when we thought the goalie issue was finally settled.

I think if MN wins tonight, Soulie gets a shot tomorrow. 2nd chances and all....

Well this game sure is showing how important goaltending is.
The Gophers are getting plenty of good chances but so far with only one goal I am reminded of Tech fan MeanEgirl holding a sign behind the goal Tech was shooting at that said "Quit teasing me and put it in"

fFir all the voluminous stats you’ve promulgated on GPL, that’s your best post EVER! That is funny! 👍

I didn't post the message above out of angry towards Souliere saying he should be benched just that it could end up being a blessing in disguise because if a big goalie like Airey gets the chance to play and gets hot look out.
I think if we win tonight it increases the chances of Airey starting tomorrow.
Obviously time well tell how this plays out.
I took it as an honest question, nothing more, nothing less.

She had another classic sign, while riding the Zamboni at the F5 one year:
Sioux Play Like Pioux.

Not feeling much confidence that this team can put together 4 straight consistent performances in the NCAAs.
RINZEL goes BAR DOWN!!!!!!
Okay. Here we go!
Nice shot Sammy!

Rinzel’s wristers are gonna be deadly in the NHL

It comes down to goaltending and I am likely what I am seeing from Airey. Yes I realize it is has only been 30 minutes but I bet coach is keeping a VERY close eye on how he is tracking the puck like I am.
Gonna have to will one here. They’re going to let ND tackle the rest of the way. Have to find a way
Maybe we SHOULD shoot the kitchen sink at 'em.

I’d be cool with just hitting the net from wide open in the slot
Two great opportunity and both times the Gophers miss the net. That is a sign they know the Irish goalie is on his game and are trying to pick a corner which leads to missing the net more.
But saying this the Gophers definitely have players with the shots to pick a corner and if they keep getting chances I won't be surprised if they do.
My prediction is Airey starts tomorrow.

With the loss, I agree. I don't think we'll see Soulie for the rest of the season.
Poop on this game.

Would be one thing if nd deserved to win; but yeah if they don’t come out and beat the ever living shit out of nd tomorrow, going to a massive red flag
No bueno
