My wife and I will be visiting for the Women's Frozen Four in Ridder in a few days and I was wondering if anyone has any parking recommendations as the event looks to be sold out.  I have not been to Minneapolis in more than 30 years and I am excited to see all the changes at the campus since my days at school.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat or have a drink around the campus?  Am interested in any feedback.

Go Gophers!

Ray J's on Central has very good food and is close by for a quick Uber to the game and back. I stay away from campus parking. Another one is Stanley's...a little farther away but still close and good food.

I’m assuming some of the high school basketball tournament is being played at Williams so parking could be a little challenging.

Most of the tournament is being played at Williams.  Some of the quarterfinal games are played at Target Center.  All four championship games on on Saturday though.  Not as big as it used to be, but there will still be plenty of people trying to get in to that area.

The Women's Frozen Four games are Friday afternoon (4pm) for game 1 and then game 2 will be at 7:30pm CST.  The championship game is played Sunday at 3pm CST.

My daughter got me hooked on Annie’s parlor, good burgers, milkshakes are great I was told but haven’t tried one yet. It’s a little off the beaten path in Dinkytown but like a block from her apartment (I know that doesn’t help you) but nothing around there is much for a walk unless it’s a blizzard or 20 below 0. Buffalo Wild Wings was insanely crowded last year during basketball and the men’s hockey conference tournament. 4th st ramp or oak street ramp we usually use. We like to go somewhere after a game to let the traffic in the ramps clear out for about an hour. Sometimes with multiple events I think you may need to pre pay. I haven’t gotten that down just yet though.

Yeah if you have a car I'd vouch for Stanley's as they're good at just about everything (cocktails, food, plenty beers to choose). Ray-J's is better for wings but that's about it, though it is slightly more walkable (though it's like a mile walk). Blue Door pub has various Juicy Lucy burger options and beer selection though they don't have a full liquor license, also about a mile walk from the arena.

If you don't want sit down experience then Nashville Coop is good for the Nashville hot version of tenders and you get a bunch of fries with it, it's like a much better version of Canes where you can select your spice level. Stub n Herb is across the street and that's the only bar in the Stadium Village area I would go to though it gets kinda packed before games. Dinkytown's bars are more college kid bars with cheap drinks.

I like MyBurger which is not a bad location relative to Ridder.

If you can pre-purchase parking (you can do for some events through the Gopher athletics site, we did for the women's regional game against Colgate last week), I'd do that.  Then you're taken care of, don't have to worry day of, and sometimes it's a $1/$2 cheaper (not always).  Likely Lot 37 if an option.

Otherwise, depending on your openness to walking - I'm a big fan of the Oak St. ramp for sporting events.  Keeps you away from the core traffic areas near the arena.

During the regular hockey season we park in the 4th street ramp.

Oak St ramp isn't exactly a far walk either, I'd say that one is worth it just for being away from the traffic near 4th/University and getting on 94.

One place I forgot to mention for restaurants in Dinkytown is Kbop Korean Bistro, I've had Korean out in Koreatown in LA and one of the highly recommended places in Denver (Dae Gee) and this place is almost as good if not on par imo. It's not like an all you can eat grill your own meat place or anything like that but you'll get a healthy portion of really good food, I really like the Jayek Bokum which is like a stir fry, the Bi Bim Bap is a pretty solid safe choice too, but they have a ton of different options to choose from and pics of every dish that show you what to expect.
