Oh. My. God. I haven't laughed this hard in a very long time. That was hilarious...I just pictured some guido in a meatball sauce stained wife-beater playing that and while I didn't watch it all the way to the end, I imagine it ended with him pulling out a pistol and shooting the TV.
Dumb question:
Is there any way to opt out of getting notices that a new episode of "Powers" is available on PSN?
I really have no interest in it...despite Sony's best and repeated attempts to convince me otherwise.

EA Sports NCAA College Hockey.
Back in ghe mid-90's I had a mod for the PC version of NHL Hockey that turned the teams in to college teams... Oh the good old days.
Did Blowing Into Nintendo Cartridges Really Help?
SO THE ANSWER IS NO
So, dear readers, all signs point to no: blowing in the cartridge did not help. My money is on the blowing thing being a pure placebo, offering the user just another chance at getting a good connection. The problems with Nintendo's connector system are well-documented, and most of them are mechanical -- they just wore out faster than expected.
My childhood was a lie.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
I just remember putting a single row lego in and flipping it upright once the cartridge was in to hold it down so it would work.
I would try and try to maneuver the cartridge to get the right connection. I'd take it out once, blow on it, and it would work fine. You can't tell me that didn't work.

I'm going to just go on believing that blowing in it did, in fact, work.
Blowing on it always works.
On the cartridge.

Picked up The Witcher 3 when it came out a few weeks ago and it is very impressive. You can tell they spent so much time developing this game and it shows up in graphics as well as the story line. It's not important to play the first two games as they do a great job filling you in on the important aspects. Most RPGs have a certain path you follow, usually good or evil that dictates your story line. This game blurs those lines and the "right" choice isn't always obvious. I enjoyed Skyrim and Dragon Age but for some reason The Witcher's story line feels more authentic. The combat takes a little time to get comfortable with but that's been the only drawback so far. The developer will be providing a bunch of free DLC for months to come and plan on 30 hours of expansion content sometime around November (I believe the expansion will not be free). Game Informer rathed it a 9.75 and many publications gave it a perfect score. Beware, you could easily spend a 100 hours or more in one playthrough, but that makes it well worth your money.
Thanks for the help, team. :chainsaw:
Jeebus. Trials of Osirus on Destiny is hard.
It's even harder when LFG people tout themselves as Rambo but are really the Destiny equivalent of Milhouse. If any GPLers want to team up, my PSN is the same as my GPL name. Heck, I'll even toss in some 7/11 Red Bull codes.

You've missed an epic and uber or two lately.
Played the PES 16 demo this weekend after hearing rave reviews about it. I think this is the first year in awhile that PES could challenge Fifa. They say that pretty much every year, but I was impressed with how improved the gameplay is this year. For me, Fifa still has the edge because of their license with the Premiere league. However, if you're more into the other leagues and UEFA Champions league, I would grab PES.
After looking over the feature set for Fifa, there don't seem to be that many improvements. They added the women's teams, but for me that doesn't have much value. EA seems to have focused heavily on the Ultimate Team mode, while making slight improvements to the gameplay over the last few years. Their partnership with the EPL and graphics have allowed them to stay on top, but I feel their gameplay needs much improvement.
Madden hasn't been good in 5 or 6 years and NHL was horrible last year. Fifa has been the game that has really stood out for them, but it wouldn't surprise me if the franchise took a step back.
Thinking about picking up an XBox One. Now that they have been out for a while, who can give me solid reviews on it? Is the experience so far superior to the 360 that it is worth $350?

If you spend a reasonable amount of time gaming, yes, buy it.

That is kinda the key. I play a lot of ncaa14 and NHL. If I got XBox One I'd probably consider picking up Madden (haven't owned a Madden game since probably 2005).

I own a PS4 but if I was buying now, I would probably get a Xbox. When they first came out, the Xbox was like 50-100$ more because you HAD to buy the Kinect with it. I've been with Sony since the beginning and I was open to change, but Microsoft really started off on the wrong foot. I'm also a fan of the Show and Xbox currently has no MLB game.
Since Xbox is behind on sales, they have lowered the price (no longer comes with a Kinect) and at one point you were able to get a 40" TV included at no extra cost. It also works directly with your cable box so it acts more like a multimedia setup. One of the cool additions is the ability to stream the xbox onto your PC. Most people report zero lag when they do this. From most reports the PS4s hardware is a touch more powerful, but as of now it hasn't been an issue.

Yep, then buy one. Like mjarz said, you can run your cable/satellite through it as well, so it's really more of a multimedia experience. Seamless transitioning between TV/games/apps.
Madden hasn't been good in a decade and hasn't been great since maybe a year or two after getting the NFLPA exclusive.
Yeah Madden just doesn't hold my attention anymore.
I'm SUPER bummed that NCAA isn't on XB1. Love the recruiting and building your team on NCAA.

Obviously there is a big caveat (the NCAA would have to agree to allow players to make money off their likenesses -- aka lose the court battles they are fighting right now) but it is certainly possible.

That is one of the only reasons I've held off so far. I know I'd play my 360 a lot since I have NCAA.
I would basically just get Madden to replace my football playing itch on the XB1.
I used to be a video game geek. Then all the buttons happened, and combos, etc. I play Tiger (now Rory, apparently?) now, and that's about it. I've really soured on the games. Too much work for what is supposed to be a leisurely activity.

I'm the same as Rube. I used to do pretty well at OL FPS especially on the PC (Counter-Strike for instance) now I'm lucky if I can manage .5 KD on COD or Battlefield. Although it doesn't help that I'd be lucky to average 3-5 hours played per week these days.

If they lose their court battles (which looks very possible) I don't think it will be up to them. I may have read that wrong though.
So I decided to pick up Madden after a buddy of mine was raving about how improved it was. The passing game got a complete overhaul and it really adds to the game. It takes a little bit to get use to, but as the QB you can loft the ball, throw a bullet or a touch pass. You can also modify those throws by throwing them high or low (L1/L2 buttons). After you throw the ball, you can then choose to decide how the receiver will catch it. You can choose between aggressive, possession and run after catch.
They have added elements that make the game more realistic. In past versions, most QBs played the same way and it didn't matter who the CPU was using against you, they were all as accurate as Peyton Manning. They have removed the "Robo QB" from the game so there is some variance when using different QBs. Penalties were often lacking in the game, except for the occasional facemask and offside/false start. Now you will see pass interference calls, holding, personal foul, etc.
If you haven't played madden on the current gen systems and you have one, I would definitely give it a shot.

They talked about this on the Power Trip this morning. Apparently Paul Charchian (video games weekly host) has shredded Madden games for a decade but thinks this year's game is outstanding.
I just hope that single player is as robust as multiplayer. I know the big push has been multi/online over the last few years, but I've kinda fallen off when it comes to games and don't play them nearly as much.
Part of the issue is that I'm just busy with life the other part is that a compelling story has been lacking in most games and that development money has been spent on online. *shrug*

On NHL they have the "NHL 94 Controls" mode.
It's essentially 3 buttons. Joystick to skate, button for pass, and button for shoot.
