You have the DVDs or you tossed them?
Check the apps if they have them for PS4. You can't play CD's or anything on XBox1 unless you download the app to play CD's...
I still have the DVDs.
I can't believe that the two consoles that were supposed to be effectively media centers can't do movies and music.

So, does it not play regular DVDs or something? I mean, I've watched DVD movies in my XB1. I think they were both Blu-ray.
It does. It's just nice to not have to deal with individual DVDs every four or five episodes.
Sorry. That last post was confusing. I meant my rips of my movies and TV shows.
Yeah, I suppose it's by design. Why let Joe Blow upload his movies for free when some people will buy/rent them from us...
The "Dark Below" DLC rolled out for Destiny early this morning.
I've played about 45 minutes of it (before leaving for work) and knocked out two of the Eris bounties. It's a fantastic DLC and one of the smoothest rollouts I've seen. I am, of course, jaded by many years of terrible Battlefield DLC releases.
The Battlefield Hardline beta (round 2) is active right now. It's open and completely free if you're on XB360, XB1, PS3 or PS4. It's worth a download and some play time. There's a new mode called "Hotwire" that is essentially classic Battlefield conquest - with vehicles serving as the capture points.
It's quite a bit of fun (especially for the current price).

Sweet, thanks!
I'm going to start downloading that before I go to the gym
So is Battlefield Hardline a whole new game? Or is it more of an extension of BF4?
I haven't played it since BF3 on 360. I bet it's sick on current gen.

I believe it is being sold as a whole new game. Looks more like an expansion imo. BF4 on the Xbox one was awesome once they patched all the glitches.

Hmmm. Well, I might go out and get BF4 sometime, then. I'm assuming it'll be cheaper when Hardline comes out.
Completely different game. Hardline is on the basis of thieves and law enforcement, not war. A lot of the controls are similar to BF4 and it has a couple of the same game modes, but that's about it. Hotwire isn't on BF4 and it's a blast. I loved it.

BF4 is selling for around $15 in the Playstation store right now. I've had it since launch day (and played the beta). It has gone from a stinking pile of lagging garbage to a very good game. There's also going to be another DLC that wasn't initially planned at the launch. Last month, EA/DICE surveyed players asking what legacy Battlefield maps they wanted back in BF4 with the Frostbite 3 engine.
Hardline is, as others have said, a totally new game (despite some naysayers claiming it's just a BF4 expansion). It should be very good based on the beta gameplay.
I played the beta for a while last night. I haven't consistently played a FPS since MW2,and it showed. I sucked!
BF4 is the only game I play of any kind regardless of platform.

I might pick it up. GameStop has it for $30.00. Haven't checked XBL yet to see if I could download it cheaper, like STG said.
Battlefield 3 and 4 are the only games I had played for like 4 years until I got NHL 15 for Christmas.
I just got back into AC Unity in the past couple weeks. I binged on it for a couple weeks after Christmas, and haven't played it in about a month.
It got some crap when it first came out, but I'm having fun with it. Having some of the glitches ironed out helps, too.
FIFA has been taking most of my gaming time lately. I have a career mode in it's 4th year now (and about to get promoted to the EPL!). I'm pretty sure it's the longest I've ever taken a career mode in any sport. Not to mention, I did about a year and a half with Spurs before I started this one.
Forgot! I played some FIFA early this winter as well, but still not much.

Do you have XB1?
FIFA 15 is fantastic. I'm not a hardcore fan of soccer, but the game has stayed in my rotation since purchase. Yes, there is a create-an-STG who's currently playing for Queens Park Rangers (after a season with Aston Villa). The graphics are impressive - especially during the end of half highlight film. My wife walked into the man cave one night, saw it and asked if I was watching a live game.

I do haha.
In my career mode I started with Seattle, went to QPR on loan and then transferred to Manchester City in my third year

Let me know if you ever want to get smoked on fifa sometime, haha
I've been playing a lot of FFVII lately. That and the Star Trek Next Generation SNES game I got for xmas.

I've beaten FFVII twice through. I spend way too much time Chocobo breeding and racing. I loved that game.
Unpopular opinion. VIII>VII
Played VIII and did not like it. I think I started it when I didn't have a lot of time to play so I could never get into it. I was able to play IX and finish that. Didn't like X, X-2, or XI. Played and finished XII. I'm very weird when it comes to my FF play.
X is one of the greatest games of all time. It's nearly perfect.

Bring it
So apparently, Sports Interactive (the people who make Football Manager) are bringing back Eastside Hockey Manager, which has been defunct since 2007. Early Access to EHM was released on Steam just hours ago. The Early Access version on Steam costs $15.
If this game is anywhere near as good as Football Manager is, I think I will die and go to heaven.
Here's a review (with screenshots)
This new iteration is being released as an Early Access game. The game will be continuously developed over the coming months with regular updates being pushed to users via Steam. To call it a beta version would be grossly unfair and inaccurate. The game is highly polished. It’s simply that the game will be developed whilst we play. The thinking behind this approach is to test the waters. If the game generates enough sales then it will return as an annual release. If not, then it won’t.

Definitely buying this tonight.
Hah! I just came here to post a blurb about EHM making a comeback. Glad to see someone else already did! It was an insta-buy for me. Hopefully it picks up some momentum in the Early Access as I would love to see it stick around for good. I used to play Football Manager to death, but it has gotten a little stale lately. I still have fond memories of a lengthy EHM 2005 career with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

I got all the updated rosters, logo pack, and face pack. Game looks great.
Spent probably almost two hours last night setting my team up (the Wild, of course). Got all my lines and tactics set up. Maybe cheating a little bit, because all the midseason acquisitions (Dubnyk, Stewart, Bergenheim) are already on the team, but whatever
Only was able to play one exhibition game, so I'm excited to get into the season this weekend!
For your sports simulator fans, do you also play war-based simulators like Hearts of Iron and such?
I haven't played one of the games in probably 10 years, but I'm actually kind of excited for Kingdom Hearts 3.
@rowshkex wrote:

I played Hearts of Iron III for a bit. Wow, it took me like 25 hours or so just to figure out what I was doing. It's amazing how intricate that game is.
I'm going to be massively addicted to EHM...
This isn't a video game per se, but it is about one - posted this in Simple Pleasures and my day is busted:
Head over to Google Maps (here's a quick link option for you: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9748563,-93.2324248,18z)
Notice the little icon in the lower lefthand corner next to the "Google Earth" icon.
My day is shot.
Broke down and bought GTA V. Again.
Had it for 360, just bought it for my XB1 yesterday. I forgot how much I loved this game.
The graphics are noticeably better, when you look at the wildlife and water. The depth of field is also much better.
And I forgot how much the radio in the game makes me lol. After the mission early in the game when Franklin drives through Simeon's window, at the car dealership. Driving around after the mission, you hear them talking about it on the radio, and they're interviewing a guy who saw it happen: "Yeah it was CRAZY!!! That dude MUST have been tweakin'! Actually, so am I. You got a washing machine I can take apart?"
So...the new DICE-produced Star Wars Battlefront arrives on 11/17...
The trailer looks incredible.
That sounds interesting. The old battlefront on PS2 was pretty bad so hopefully they get it right this time around.
ESPN2 is showing live coverage of a video game tournament between Arizona State and UC Berkeley. I never thought I'd see the day.
Not surprised. Did they mention how Lebron and Johnny Football have played video games before?

When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
