Might need to get an XB1 before October.

Not sure I saw one face that looked like the player
Facial models has never been EA Vancouver's strong point.
How is Watch Dogs gg13?
Decent.
Hindsight 20/20: Should have waited for a price drop. Not worth $60, IMO, but it's still been fun. Certainly not a bad game.
But as far as the open world environment goes, it just pales in comparison to GTA V in pretty much every area (graphics, size, interesting things to do/see)
Overall, it's fun, but not fantastic.
What do people think of the more recent soccer video games? I have a PS3 and am not interested in getting a new system. I've got the 2010 World Cup game and probably could use an upgrade. I read some reviews online that FIFA 14 wasn't that good.
Thoughts?
I haven't bought one in a while, but I'd assume one of 13-15 will be the best of this generation as there will be no focus on those consoles anymore.
I bought FIFA 14 for my PS3 and I love it--I play it too much. But that's not based on any comparisons to other soccer games (the last one I owned was Winning Eleven 9 for PS2). It feels like the physics are really accurate, and there's enough of the non-sticky-ball feeling that comes with soccer games to make it seem real without sacrificing control of the game. I was really impressed with the physics and realism, and I'm a skeptic and a cynic when it comes to video game physics. I feel like it takes a lot to impress me.
In terms of multiplayer, a friend and I play it together, and it's always a good time.
Another note--I bought it for like $32 on sale with a 20% off on Cartwheel. I don't know if I'd buy it for full price, but I wouldn't really pay full price for any video game in my current circumstances.
Whoever said FIFA 14 isn't good will never be satisfied by a sports video game.
FIFA is the best sports video game by far.
If you're looking to upgrade, get 14. (I'm guessing you won't want to pay $60 for 15 in a couple months)

FIFA couldn't touch WE back then. The realism was crazy, and when you scored it was about the best feeling you can get from a video game.

Agreed, although with technology improving and the physics being realistic, FIFA 14 gives it a run for its money...

A decade later...

WE7 is and always will be the king of the soccer games in my book.
That and megaman soccer.
I was only exposed to it because I have older brothers, but Nintendo World Cup on the original Game Boy was. the. shit.
Megaman Soccer was awesome--such a good game.
FIFA 98 for N64 was pretty awesome... That is, if you played the indoor game with bookings turned off.
Omfg. I totally forgot about the indoor. That was epic stuff right there.
Anyone want an Xbox 360 120GB system + controllers and games [in about a month]? Great gift for the kids!!!
I'm going to upgrade to an XB1 in a month or so, just figured I'd see if anyone here would be interested, before I go get :censored:ed when I sell it to Game Stop, because I'm assuming I'll get like 50 cents for it there
PM me if interested
Idk if it was necessary to say GameStop would do THAT to you...

GameStop doesn't offer a big price up front, but they usually knock off X percentage from your purchase if you're a gamestop reward member don't they? I don't have a lot of experience trading in systems but I've traded in games before and it seems like they do something like that.
Yeah, but it's like 10%, and I'd be surprised if I got more than like 30-40 bucks for the system. I don't know if the time and extra spam email is worth the extra few bucks
I got more than that when I traded in our Wii at Christmas. You should look into it.
If you trade in your system and games towards a next Gen system I'm sure you'll get some kind of bonus as well.
Anybody here have a Nintendo WiiU?
I won Assassin's Creed Black Flags in a silent auction and don't have a WiiU.
It is brand new, unopened. Would like to get rid of it.

Holy shit. This should be a PSA for any nhl fans out there. Jeebus. This is just bad.
Yeah, a lot of people are pretty pissed.
Doesn't really effect me since I only play offline Be A GM and random online 1v1 games. The fact that I didn't get 14 means I'm still going to get 15.
On the plus side, the game looks gorgeous. And from a vid I saw, Be A GM looks cool.
The gals must like you when you're willing to throw out the word gorgeous about an EA sports game lol. In the one video I saw, the jerseys looked jacked up in the back.
The jerseys were a little too... floppy. I don't really know how to describe it. They looked like they're made out of super light fabric. They just overdid the way they sway in the breeze, a little bit.
I feel old.
And I'm not even old.

FIFA is going to be amazing. Just played the demo. Not a single thing I didn't like.
It's already the best sports game I've ever played.

They should have made them play an Atari 2600.
I miss my Atari 2600. (yes I know there are emulators out there)

I still have mine and it works. I have the game Baseball Simulator 2000. It was the first video game I knew of that you could create your own team and it would keep stars. You could play a season, assign attributes, etc. I pulled it out and played it a year ago and it still had my Legion team programmed on there from when I last played it in 1997. Such a great trip down memory lane!
I sadly never owned a Nintendo. Parents never wanted a console in the home. My (well, my bro's and my; we saved up and paid equal shares for one) first system was the Genesis.
A few years later, I bought a 2600 on eBay. Our friends were the ones with the gaming systems, and many an night was had chugging Mountain Dew, eating Totino's pizza rolls, and playing video games (mostly sports). Of course, since then, I've been a Playstation loyalist, although I only (rarely) play a couple games anymore: Tiger Woods, Gran Turismo, and a turn-based strategy game called Romance Of The Three Kingdoms.
I think my newest Madden is 2006, and newest NHL is 2008.

Of course Arya Stark doesn't know what Nintendo is. She grew up without electricity and had a Hound as her travel mate for years.

Here is how video game console purchases worked in my family: begged for am Atari forever got a 7800 the year Nintendo came out. Begged for a Nintendo, parents bought a 10 pound bag of Jolly Ranchers from Sam's Club, we paid a nickel per to save up enough money, by the time we had enough and bought it Super Nintendo came out! I then got a job and overpaid for the PS1 not long after it came out, same with PS2. Didn't buy a Wii until they had been out for a while and now unsure what to buy...Anyway, miss our old Atari 7800, the games were pretty neat. Nintendo had some epic games too (Tecmo Bowl, Tyson's Punch Out). Seta Genesis hockey on out of town hockey tournaments was a staple of my childhood. Remember the first time I saw PS1 Triple Play 97....blown away!
Is it just me or do the first versions of sports game you play set the gold standard for which each one that comes out afterwards is compared to? Triple Play 97, Tiger Woods 2003, NHL 2004...the ones after seemed unimpressive.
Just played the Fifa 15 demo on Ps4 last night. Wow...I wish madden played as smoothly as Fifa. Since NHL 14 for the PS4 is missing quite a few features, Fifa will definitely be my game of choice this fall.

Yeah I might get a PS4 and FIFA soon. I wanted to get NHL until I read the reviews and decided otherwise. Generally the first iteration of a game on a next gen console has issues (anyone remember playing the first FIFA for Xbox 360? Was missing key controls and movement was way off) but FIFA seems like they actually have it together with the current generation of consoles.
FIFA on xb1 and ps4 will be the best sports game ever. The demo of fantastic.

Best sports game ever. I know people get nostalgic for the old ones, but technically speaking, it will be the GOAT, IMO.
I was also going to use the word gorgeous for you Bonin21, because it's definitely a gorgeous game

How? Did they find a way to remove the soccer from it?
I had to do it.
I've never played the games, but I've heard they are fun even for non-soccer fans. But I couldn't resist.
You should play it! FIFA video games are what got me into the sport in the first place!
Yeah I can think of a few soccer haters who love FIFA.
FIFA is awesome. I'm also enjoying Destiny so far. It plays a lot like Halo and Borderlands.

My buddy bought NHL 15 for XBox360 and said that none of the fears detailed in previous posts (as far as parts being left off) exist for the 360.

Yeah, the 360 still has all the game modes, it's just an exact copy of NHL 14. The missing modes are just for PS4/XB1
I just traded it in for Destiny today.
I don't care how good FIFA is now. WE7 will always be the king of soccer games. It set the tone for EVERY soccer (and even sports in general) game to come after it. It was graphically a work of art and the controls were complex yet intuitive. It was perfect.
Destiny is freaking awesome
