It's been nearly a month and Iowa fan still won't let it rest with illegal fair catch on social media
I don't get it. The thing that is most aggravating is that those fans keep saying "It's wasn't a fair catch!" No sh*t!! It was an invalid fair catch signal which 99% of America didn't know existed as a call but it is and it was called after the video review and was the right call. People just can't get past that.
The other aggravating part of that game is that those people who hang onto that fair catch crap is that they don't acknowledge that 2 FRIGGING YARDS OF OFFENSE IN THE SECOND HALF is why Iowa lost that game. Iowa was completely capable of having a second half like they did this past Saturday against Rutgers in that game vs. Minnesota but they didn't.
Now with DeJean out for the last two games people will hang onto that fair catch crap ESPECIALLY if Iowa lays two eggs and loses the West. I completely agree with you that the only reason Iowa is 8-2 and not 2-8 is the defense and I will add special teams to that.
I am theofficial Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
I can see the top left looking pretty cool actually waving in the wind. I also like that blue and green combo better than some others that make me think Vancouver Canucks.
Edit: Just noticed the star is centered, which I’m not really a fan of. Still probably my pick of the bunch, but it brings the bottom middle into a much closer second.
North Star state, summer months have a lot of green and blue. I don’t know, makes sense to me. Most state flags are pretty random, especially if you’ve just seen them for the first time. It takes research or someone telling you the significance to get them.
I wouldn’t consider the two I like to be in the running for best state flag or anything, but they certainly wouldn’t be anywhere near the worst. And again I feel they’re definitely better than the current one.
I know they wanted to drop having the seal on the flag because a lot of states have it, but if that loon seal wins that contest this decision was a mistake. That logo is outstanding and would look great on a flag.

completely agree. That seal design is a banger.
could have a matching set. Preferably not identical, but certainly complimentary. Either with a partial copying of the design or simplification of the colors
To me the flag designs all look like they were created by some church quilting group.

Minnesota badly needs a new state flag, but these designs are the best we can do? These 6 finalists range from "meh" to absolutely horrible.
The best state flags are simple, easy to identify, and promote a brand. Stroll through Denver's airport and look at all of the t-shirts, hats, coffee mugs, and everything else with their awesome state flag on them. States like CO, TX, NM, AK, and CA have great flags. Even Utah's new state flag is pretty cool. What a missed opportunity for Minnesota.

I'll go against the grain and say I think these could be worse. Compare these to other state flags. Most are horrible. I would put the top left and top right options into the mix.
They are all kinda meh, but I’d go with top right or top left.
Take the star from the upper left design and put it on the bottom left field... then maybe. Keep the blue background the same as it is on the current flag.
I think my biggest issue with the star is that it's contextless. The North Star is a star in the sky.
The stars on the US flag represent the states.
the star on Texas is because they want to remind everyone they're independent ?
Nevada's is because it's the silver state (silver star)
Tennessee's are because of the three parts of Tennessee
Alaska is the Big Dipper
Somehow, Utah's is meant to be hope.
Arizona's is to represent one of the five Cs, apparently... it's copper
California is apparently copying Texas
DC represents the Washington family coat of arms
the rest are mainly the number of stars to represent entry to the union.
only Alaska has the North Star on it. It's indicated as such by including the Big Dipper.
Where I'm going with this is, that star is unlike all but one star on the rest of the state flags. Its context is sky. It's ordinal. So putting it into the center of a flag is a weird choice. Its context becomes mostly indistinguishable from the rest of the muddled meanings.
By putting it into context we do something far more meaningful and representative of what it is. The North Star.
I took our 15 pound bird out of the freezer last Th and today it still had a handball sized ice chunk in the belly. Everyone says 3-4 days, but it actually takes a week to thaw in the fridge.
A 20 pound bird is more like 10 days. Water baths are the way to go.
I roasted in the oven. Our family is very big on stuffing so we always stuff the bird. I tried a new brine and a new roasting recipe and I can say with ease this was the best turkey I’ve ever made and ever eaten.
The dark meat was done before the white meat, which in itself is a miracle. Very juicy. Not overdone. I finally found a roasting method I will use forever.
It was also the best gravy I’ve ever made. I dialed in the gravy a few years ago. The extra work on the gravy is definitely worth it.
My wife and I were both working at our store yesterday; we're open on Thanksgiving until 5:00 PM. We both counted more than the fingers on our hands of people who came up to us and said "Why do they make you work on Thanksgiving? Why are you even OPEN on Thanksgiving?". Now, first of all, we don't mind working on Thanksgiving. We no longer have any big family get-togethers to attend, so it's not a big deal. We also receive a nice financial bonus from doing so. But, to answer the question: "Gee, I too wonder why we're open. Do you think for a moment it's because people like YOU are here, shopping on the holiday?". "Martha, it's a real shame those people have to work today. Oh shit, I gotta run and get a can of corn and some whipping cream". Incredible. ? ?

I was going to mention the irony of people while they're shopping who empathize with those working around the holidays. Demand drives everything. That's why there's a line at White Castle after the bar closes.
A week ago we had open water on our pond. Today we have 3 teenagers playing football on the ice. Running, dancing and jumping as if it could hold a car.
This is the same pond I refuse to go on in the dead of winter because you can hav 18 in ice and 5 feet away will be an open hole from the methane bubbling up from the bottom.
47 years ago today in High School in shop class I cut my hand on a table saw, the teacher would have his door locked even when he was in his office. My middle finger got cut really bad I have the finger luckily but the nerves were cut so bad I can not feel the finger.
