Not to mention political ads on YouTube.

The commercials as well... back-to-back-to-back-to-back commercials.

F***ing political texts.   STOP.  Just stop.

Word.   I just don't see how it can be legal for whoever it is to sell personal info to politicians or political groups to send unapproved and unwanted texts to people!  It's so f**king annoying.  I want it to be December already.

Doesn't have to be December, just the day after election day.

A different issue arises the day after and weeks after.  It takes until December for the blabbering to reach a level of dull noise.

My voting precinct is over a mile at church from our house.  The church that borders our backyard is a voting precinct as well.  We used to vote there, but at the last primaries we got switched to the church over a mile away.

I drive a VW GTI.  My last car was a GTI.  I really like the GTI.  Volkswagen just announced an upcoming 40th anniversary edition.  And it's MSRP is cheaper than most of the used models available.  I decide I would like to go buy one.

I visited 3 VW dealerships over the weekend.  All wanted a NON-Refundable $500 deposit, and not a single one would commit to an out the door price.  "Well, with current market conditions... exterior protection... the 'complimentary' VW Maintenance Program has a cost to it... there will be some additional costs and fees."  I don't want any of it.  I want to buy that car, for the MSRP.  You should be able to easily given me the final price with tax, title, registration, doc fee, etc.  "We just don't know what it will be until we get the final information from Volkswagen."

How can they justify a $500 NON-Refundable deposit if they won't even tell me what the thing is going to cost me?!?!  If it is $8,000 over MSRP I am not buying it! And I sure as heck am not going to just give you $500 for the pleasure of trying to screw me over!!

I F-ing HATE car dealerships!!!!!!

The auto industry has been completely out of whack for a few years now.  I wouldn't mind upgrading to a new vehicle, but I won't even consider it until the market is back to normal.  Until then, I'll keep driving my 2014 as long as I need to.

I've never had an issue. This is what you say it is, or this is what the price should be, let's talk, and if you can't do that, I'm out. One dealership let me walk. Never dealt with them again. the 2 others? Didn't even try to BS me. They saw a sure sale, which they got, after we sat down and worked it out. I come prepared.

It’s different when any remotely popular car has a multi month wait.  There is no negotiation…you are going to pay MSRP

Have you been to a Luther Dealership among the 3 you’ve talked to?  We ordered a Palisade 4 months ago and at that time all the Luther dealerships committed to MSRP for their cars.   I didn’t ask for an out the door price but other dealers in town were pulling the same crap you mention.

Morries (Forest Lake) for my current vehicle, and it seems the Jeep dealership is no more around 100-394 (to be fair, I bought that vehicle in 2001).

Luther Chrysler in Brooklyn Park was the one who were pulling the tricks.

Last night leaving downtown Mpls. after the Vikings game was the worst, I've seen it.  Probably a top 5, if not a top 3.  And I lived downtown from Aug. of '94 to April of 2021.  Traffic was a total stand still and not moving.  And once I got on to 35W south it was smooth sailing.

People posting about the pairwise on fb and it's not even December.

There's definitely a reason that until there were a dozen other sites that posted the PWR, USCHO never put it up until January after the holiday tournaments.  That's essentially the point that it starts to become a semi-useful tool to track how things are developing.

US Bank stadium security.

We went to the Zimmerman - Hutchinson state semi-final last Friday and sat in section 131 which is near the 10 yard line.  Early in the 4th quarter, the entire Rosemount student body started to overrun our section with kids climbing over rows of seats, jumping over the plexiglass barrier between sections, and being generally unruly.  A couple of their kids were also trying to bait a security guard into an altercation.  It made the game unwatchable.

Now, I expect students to act like morons.  God knows I did the same thing when I was a teenager.  What I don't understand is why security let them in our section in the first place?  We were instructed to wait until the previous game was over and their fans had exited the section before we were allowed in.  I was pretty hot so I went up to one of the security guards after the game and asked him why he let our section get stampeded.  He shrugged his shoulders and told me one of our parents allegedly told him he was doing a good job.  I called him a moron and walked away while he told me to take it up with his manager.  Not my finest moment but it would have been nice to know why we weren't afforded the same courtesy as the fans from the previous game.

End rant

@don-adams-wheel-of-justice

It's always been an ongoing problem for football and even hockey at the state level.  For football they really need to space the big classes apart.  Put 1A or 2A between 4A, 5A and 6A. Almost go 9man, 4A, 1A, 5A, 3A, 2A and 6A

I gave up going to the State High School Hockey tournament years ago for similar reasons.  They’d sell seats behind the students in the same section as the student sections, and they’d always be run over and it was a miserable experience.

My first year with season tickets for the Tourney, they put me on the glass, one row in front of the band section. Nearly 20 years later I still have hearing loss from the band and bruises from the students all game long climbing over me.  The next year I asked to be moved and have had the same seats since. On the goal line, penalty box side and the end the high seed shoots twice.  I've considered moving but have made friends with some of the peeps around me. And they are actually good seats. Maybe I tiny obstruction when the play is on the other end of the ice, in the corner of the same side of the ice I set on.

Call me heartless… but I’m tired of hearing about Michigan still looking for excuse this past weekend. I feel bad for the player who’s in the hospital and on a respirator. Though after that… Michigan lost all credibility last year with their weaseling out of the game vs. Western Michigan. And if roles were reversed and Minnesota or whomever had a roster full of sick players. Michigan would have demanded the series be played or forfeit.

A friend and I decided to go to that Rosemount and Eden Prairie game.  Game time was posted at 730.  We got there about 7.  We stayed on the main concourse level that you enter the stadium on.  They had security blocking off access to the lower levels.  It looked as if some of the students found a stairwell that would take them to one of the lower levels, but most of the parents patiently waited.  They made us wait until the entire Zimmerman side had cleared out.  It was probably 20 minutes or so of a stream of fans in a single line because there were so many Rosemount fans piled up waiting to get down.  Finally we were able to go to the lower level.  We sat on the 40 yard line in the Medtronic Club level.  Missed the kickoff and we were one of the first few fans to get let down.  By the end of the first quarter there were still fans filing in.  They needed to do a better job overall.  The stadium does have a weird setup with so many different levels.  Don't have everyone exit the same way people are trying to get in.  It was an unnecessary cluster.

I thought that's probably how they all got into our section.  Again, my beef wasn't with the students because kids act like kids.  It just burns me that stadium security did nothing once all the kids started streaming in.

The problem with seating at the Tourney is the two ends behind the goals.  The students and bands sit there, and it gets a cluster in the 3rd period of the 1st game and into warmups of the 2nd game's warmup for each session.  Also, the concourse gets messy during intermissions and between games for each session.  It's mind boggling to me why so many people and mostly the same people have to go wonder the concourse every intermission and between each game.

That is the pain in the ass on that side of the stadium.  On the opposite side they don't stop you at all.  We sat in the Polaris Club area while the New London-Spicer/Watertown-Mayer game was playing their second half.  I remember last year when Mankato was on that other side and had to wait in the hall until the fans from the other game had filed out, it is a pain and it sucks to just stand their in the hallway waiting.

I get why they do that but it is a pain on that side of the stadium.  I see that Mankato is the home team for the championship so we will get to go through that pain again.  Booo

I know I sound like a broken record, but... More and more I keep realizing how bad the "U" is at marketing their merchandising, image and logos. Not only has the "U" sold their souls to Fanatics (which is pure garbage). The "U" also is like Surge at letting their image/logos out.  I continue to find cool merchandising on different websites and very seldom the "U" is included. Though I find more of the garbage merchandising and the "U" has let their image/logos out. Goldy's Locker Room for clothing is still above average, but that's about it.

I hate this quote.  First, it is not a definition of insanity.  Second, I used to not be able to juggle.  I would try again and again and would not even catch one ball.  But somehow, I became able to juggle. And I’m not insane. Third.  ALBERT EINSTEIN NEVER SAID THIS! (Look it up)

@composer talk about taking a quote LITERALLY…instead of in context to why it was posted…Twins management (who operate under NO SALARY CAP) implying they’de consider trading their best player for better pitching…when (in reality) all they actually need to do…is SPEND the money to sign better pitchers via free agency ☝️Lmao!

My post had NOTHING to do with the Twins comment (which is why I didn’t post in the Twins thread). It is clear that my post was that I hate that alleged quote, and that it ‘sticks in my craw’.  I don’t even remember what the context of the Twins issue in your post was.

I mean I'd been working 55-60 hours/week for 3 months straight basically. I was owed some fun 😉 We went out there for a softball tournament primarily. The Vegas activities were mostly secondary for me.

Yeah, I sure feel sorry for you. Total suck-ness. Man, that's rough. 😉

I mean I'd been working 55-60 hours/week for 3 months straight basically. I was owed some fun 😉 We went out there for a softball tournament primarily. The Vegas activities were mostly secondary for me.

Giving you sh* my brother. We all good. 😉

When your company books you a work trip and 2 different drivers to your house.  "OK which one of you is here to kidnap me?".  ?

I’m a huge fan of the books by John Sandford, the Prey series and now the Virgil Flowers series.  They are all set in Minnesota and Minneapolis, lots of good authentic details.  I just started Bloody Genius, the latest V Flowers and good Lordy he makes a huge error.  He goes on and on about the UofM and then writes that the school colors are RED and gold!  More then once. WTF? Maybe that was an editors choice, thinking most readers wouldn’t know the difference, but I just about ?

Why is it every job I work at, whether big or small, finds a way to %^*@ up my paychecks?  I should not need to hold your hand and triple check everything!  I used to do payroll it isn't that difficult...

I ran into similar problems earlier this year. There’s another person with the same name at my company, and they screwed up our profiles. There are a lot of things you can do with your badge if you enroll in them. I was suddenly paying for their lunches. You’d think it would be a simple fix, but no. They had to tear down and build up our profiles three times before they sorted it out. I got my money back, and things are straightened out now, but I now feel like I can’t use my badge for anything other than getting in the door. Not being enrolled in payroll deduction in the cafeteria is the only way I caught the problem in the first place.

My pet peeve about payroll errors, is when my employer makes an error in my favor.  No investigation, they'll take it out next check no questions asked.  If my employer makes an error not in my favor, it could take a couple pay cycles to see that money.  This hasn't happened a lot for me, just after 25 years at the same employer, it does happen.

Keep your stick on the ice...

like a credit card.  They can INSTANTLY charge me, but god forbid, it takes 2 billing cycles to get a refund credit.  It’s nonsense.

@kelly-red

Taxes as well. I made an error one year doing my own taxes and was over paid.  They found the error and I had to pay back within like 30-60 days or pay a penalty. Though one year the gov. made an error, and they actually paid me back plus interest while they investigated their error for several month. I was shocked when I got the check and an explanation... LoL!!!
