I've watched the first 2 episodes of Clarice and I'm not sure I will stick through it unless it gets better. It has promise and I truly like the lead they cast to play the main role. But come on this is Silence of the Lambs territory not paint by numbers murder mystery of the week. Hannibal did this world far better and I hope the creators of this show add some grit soon.
I watched the first episode and have the second recorded. It’s network TV. They have a murder of the week and just put Clarice’s name on it. There was almost no connection to Silence of the Lambs. You are correct, Hannibal did a great job with this. It was weird and different.

Sad thing is Hannibal was a network show and they still nailed it. Had it been HBO it might lasted longer though. Always rumors of a 4th season but I'm not holding my breath.
Newest episode of Wandavision definitely turned the tables. Expertly done.
Love what they're doing with this show.

My daughter just told me this is the most expensive TV show ever made? Averages 20million per episode?

If you're an MCU fan I dare say this may become a must-watch.
The TNT 4 part series on the Inside the NBA crew called The Inside Story. I'm not an NBA fan, but getting the insides on one of the best studio shows of all time is fascinating.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

The next MCU series starts in a couple weeks and I don’t think there’s gonna be another season of Wandavision. They were mostly setting up Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange and since the last episode was called “The Series Finale” that’s prolly it for any time soon. It’s too bad cause I thought it was a very unique experience and really well written. From the trailer for the Winter Soldier series it looks like a more traditional Marvel deal with a buddy cop kinda feel.

Agreed. Wandavision definitely opened the MCU to more of the darker and mystical world that Dr. Strange is going to be dealing with in Dr. Strange 2. My guess is we won't see a S2 of Wandavision but they needed to have this series in order to develop her powers. She's likely going to be among the most powerful characters, if not THE most powerful character in the MCU for a couple years and she couldn't really go from where we last saw her in Endgame (obviously very powerful but not nearly as powerful as she's capable of) to God-tier powers and just ignore how she got the extra juice.
My guess is that Falcon and Winter Soldier will most likely introduce the creation of the Thunderbolts and I'm pretty sure the trailers for Falcon and Winter Soldier include some sights of Madripoor which is a big location for X-Men and could feasibly be used for X-Men teasers. I'm really interested to see how that show turns out.
The Fall. A series from about 5-7 years ago from BBC starring Gillian Anderson as a London top cop asked to aid an investigation in Belfast. As is often with BBC series its a far superior show on several aspects than 99% of network shows in the US and would fit right in next to The Night Of from HBO, etc. One concern is that it was a 3-season series (5 or 6 episodes each) and Netflix currently only shows 2. If the current story arc takes place over all 3 I really hope Netflix adds the 3rd season. Regardless it's very well done and highly recommended.
At first I thought you were talking about the MOVIE The Fall! Fabulous by the way, stars Lee Pace, seek it out. I’ve added the BBC show to my list, thanks.

Stanley Tucci's Searching for Italy series in CNN is fantastic. He is so good and the show is really well done. Well worth the watch.

Thank the stars for DVR magic. I couldn't agree more on all the breaks.
I’m about halfway thru season 2 of the Crown and I feel like I’m taking this in a different way than others. I’m mostly seeing how ridiculous a monarchy and especially the English monarchy is. The royal family is granted over $100 million a year (American) by English tax players...for what? Plus the way they cling to outdated traditions to preserve the church is crazy. Then their staid staff give the royal family awful and/or lazy advice that blows up in their faces and then criticizes them for it. Yesterday’s Oprah interview did nothing to change that opinion.

On other social media, I had posted The Sex Pistols' "God Save The Queen" song...that about sums up my opinion of English royalty.

The Windsors are all kinds of crazy, but iirc Britons overwhelmingly support their 2 pounds per citizen per annum contribution to keep it rolling.
If you haven’t watched the Oprah interview with Harry and Meghan, it’s eye-opening about “the institution” as they call it. I got a mob feeling about it although it didn’t sound like it was the actual family members, more their staff. I dunno, it’s one side.

Without citing any recent examples that spring to mind, I can see some advantages to separating the roles of a nation's top political celebrity from their functioning head of government.
South Park Vaccination episode (HBO Max):
HILARIOUS. I hadn't watched the show is about 10~ years, but I was in hysterics with this one. Highly recommend.

Not sure I saw anyone around here mention The Alienist, but I watched both seasons and I enjoyed them both. Some plot holes in the 2nd season, but the set designs and costume, production, and cast on the whole were quite good.
I watched Ep 1 of the Pirate series on Netflix and I will Ep 2 a chance before cutting it off. I didn't get very far with their Samurai series and this one is feeling a bit the same. I prefer history and less reenacted drama.

I just happened to catch it when it aired on Comedy Central. I too haven't watched in years. I will second this recommendation to watch.

I won't post about this anymore if no one else is watching it. Sending out the Bat Signal. It ramped up hardcore this season. The difference between Sutter being involved (as the previous two seasons) and now is noticeable. I know there was controversy with Sutter (and frankly, I think he's a complete brash a-hole genius), but handing off the show was the best move he made. I very much look forward to how this series goes.
And of course, the debut of the Mighty Ducks series on Dis+ starting Fri....

I'm looking forward to how Falcon and Winter Soldier plays out. The first episode was pretty entertaining - the opening scene with Sam rescuing the hostage was a lot of fun. Same with some of the flashbacks from Bucky. I really grew to like both of those characters a lot and am very interested in how they're going to handle the post-Endgame world.

The Mexican culture (as opposed to the white trash in SOA) is a huge difference in Mayans, despite the Mayans being located in the US. Lots of Mex-US crossover. Traditions, ways of life, etc.

I am enjoying the 3rd season very much too. Bummed about Coco but that will be an interesting story line to see how it plays out. If this show goes on a couple seasons, I could see EZ being El Presidente.

Coco is bumming me out. He's loco, but good-hearted. I'm expecting 5-6 seasons (this would include a split last season, as has been the trend for shows like this). I'm guessing EZ becoming El Presidente was Kurt's main goal (it's what he knows, given SOA), but now that he's gone, who knows?

Yes, yes, yes to everything. The first 2 seasons were somewhat disappointing for me after being a huge fan of SOA. I even considered deleting the recent recordings. I ended up watching episodes 1 and 2 the other day which happened to coincide with the recording of episode 3. I then watched that one. I enjoyed those 3 episodes much more than the previous seasons.
I think they are going to tie up the loose connections that Sutter started, and move on.

Falcon and Winter Soldier episode 2 was also good.
I love the chemistry between Sam and Bucky. They were really fun together in the previous MCU movies in their scenes together and it has carried over to the show.
They definitely introduced a theme that will be very familiar to MCU fans and will likely be used to tie into future movies as well.
Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (DIS+)
First ep dropped last night, 30 min eps, 10 ep season.
It is pure cheesy fun. It does not pretend to be anything else, and that's fine with me. Definitely check it out.

I agree, but you know what? It wasn’t anymore cheesy than the original Mighty Ducks movie...even the 2nd one was cheesy. The 3rd one was the only one close to not being cheesy. I liked the episode, but damn near all the preview highlights happened in the first episode so I hope it keeps being as “good” as it is.

That's exactly what I loved about it.

The thing I can't stand is how they present the "format" of youth hockey. They could create the hard-luck kids story angle still without the non-MN youth model.

Apparently, that was important to Emilio. He wanted to film in MN (as did the rest) but lack of tax breaks prevented that. That's how the Mighty Ducks originally "started" and they wanted to keep it that way. However, that is why you also have all the MN references. The Current had him on for an interview last week.

I saw the interview. MN references aside the youth format represented has nothing to do with the MN model of youth hockey. I suppose it's to create drama but I feel they could still do that without going that far. Not a major complaint mind you.

Ok I wasn’t sure what you meant originally but now I do. Yes, outside of the very original one with the “District 5” being somewhat close to association lines, the rest ends up being more of a AAA/private hockey model where regardless of where you live you can play or in the case of the show, start a whole new team to be in a league.
I watched the first three episodes of Invincible on Amazon Prime last night. If you're a fan of superhero comics I'd say it's a must watch, but maybe not for young kids.

I suspect it was a bit of a perfect storm of the comic author also having created The Walking Dead, a lot of TV and movie production being halted due to the pandemic, and voice acting being something you can do while mostly isolated, but yeah, heavy hitters. However it's not distracting at all. I was surprised by a couple names I saw when I checked the IMDB page after watching the first episode. I didn't recognize the voice until I knew who it was.
I'm no big time wrasslin' fan but I'll admit this looks interesting.
