Watched the first couple episodes of Poker Face last night on Peacock. It's strangely really good.

I have also watched a couple and will continue to watch, but it does the “Columbo” thing of revealing the crime at the beginning which bugs me. The quirky writing is fun. The reveal thing didn’t stop me from watching Columbo either so maybe I’m just complaining to complain.
Richard Belzer, RIP. 🙁

Related: Tom Sizemore had an aneurysm. Today is sure off to a WONDERFUL start. Ugh.

I much prefer witnessing the crime early and watching the interplay between the fox and the hound. It let's the audience in on the logic behind the investigation, and it gives them the opportunity to observe the criminal as he's being closed in on. Dostoevsky did this brilliantly in Crime and Punishment, long before Columbo was ever conceived of.
Perry Mason, on the other hand, would always set up for the big reveal in the courtroom. The problem I have with this plot device was that the perpetrator could be any one 5 or six people--and it was impossible to determine their identity. Only just before the last commercial break of every episode would the audience learn who it was, much to the utter surprise of one Hamilton Burger. Of course, the means, motive and opportunity were always delivered in the final act to ignoramuses Paul Drake and Secretary Della Street, as they eagerly lapped up Perry's denouement. Again, Dostoevsky followed this same formula in The Brothers Karamazov, though his riveting style invites the reader to come along for the ride while weaving through plot intricacies ranging from politics to religion and the question of morality.
Looking forward to starting The Consultant with Christoph Waltz. Hoping the writing and directing are good enough to support the brilliance that is Waltz.

I’ll watch anything with him in it! There’s a YouTube of him on Jimmy Fallon explaining Krampus I laugh at. He’s so serious, Fallon is an idiot and you can see Waltz getting pissed at being interrupted.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

I'm not surprised that Waltz would go over his head. ?
I’ve seen a few interviews where you can clearly see Waltz getting irritated by interviewers not listening and instead waiting for their turn to talk, which they don’t wait for anyway. Irritates me too, he’s a great storyteller. He’s classy though and doesn’t make a scene, just gives them a bit of a glare.
Mandalorian on the 1st...cannot wait.

Ep 1 of The Consultant was INTENSE and everything that I hoped it would be based upon the trailers. Waltz is the star of course but there's a good ensemble of relatively unknowns filling in the cast.
The Last of Us on HBO (HBOMax streaming) continues to be absolutely fantastic. Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal are exceptional.
The Mandalorian S3E1. Not the best episode but a very solid setup to the season. Favorite moment:
"Bad baby!" ?
If you can find the British 6-part series The Gold there I highly recommend. True story crime drama about the theft of 26 British pounds of Gold in 1983 and its aftermath. Very well written with some very compelling performances that made for a gripping watch throughout.

I thought I missed a big part of the story on re-watching S2 of Mando, then remembered it was part of Boba Fett (Luke training Grogu). I agree with your assessment on S3 Ep1.

The new Chris Rock special on Netflix:
GOD DAMN.
The end bit is f*ing stone cold.

Started to watch 'Yellowstone Wardens' filmed in Montana on Animal Planet. Similar to 'Lone Star Law' (Texas) and 'North Woods Law' (Maine) also on Animal Planet. I was telling my wife I can almost pinpoint the filming areas when they are in Region 1 (Northwest MT.) and Region 4 (North Central MT.). Now I'm watching to see if I recognize anyone one either side of the law... lol!!!
Btw... 'Yellowstone' the tv series is a joke. Yes, it's tv and Hollywood... fake. At best 1% of 1% ranchers live like the Duttons.
Keep your stick on the ice...
The Last Of Us (HBO/HBOMax) finale aired today. The finale, along with the whole first season, was an absolute masterpiece.

Masterpiece?
My wife was getting tired while we were watching the show when she got up to go to bed. I paused it to tell her "Hey, there's less than two minutes left!"
"Good night" was all she said.
Shrinking with Jason Segel and Harrison Ford has been excellent.

I’m most of the way thru and enjoying it. It’s by the same peeps as Ted Lasso so it’s got that wholesome vibe with good writing.
I guess I'll put it here: Burt Krieshner has a new Netflix special. It's funny.

I like Bert quite a bit and listen to 2 Bears 1 Cave fairly often. This was a bad special. It felt like he was trying too hard instead of being himself if that makes sense. The opening sequence was cringy even for him and for me personally it rarely got better. I was bummed.
Well this just stinks.
He was SO good in Bosch.

He’s pretty damn good in everything he’s in. One of the more recognizable “Hey it’s that guy!” actors.
He was terrific in "Fringe", along with everything else. What a shame.
I've enjoyed Kleo on Netflix so far through 3 episodes. Requires a tiny bit of a stretch to the imagination, but there's a Killing Eve cheekiness to it and enough intrigue to keep me interested.

I have not been impressed by this season of The Madalorian so far... But the 3rd season of Picard has been off the charts for me. The Next Generation was a show my father in-law and I used bond over so many years ago. He passed away in 2015 and every episode of this 3rd season that I watch I cannot help but think of him and how much he would have loved it.

Ted Lasso season 3 off to a good start. One of my favorite shows ever.

I highly recommend Picard then... First 2 seasons are decent, but this 3rd one is so good!

I stopped watching Madno after E3. It's too bad too.

The first couple episodes of Mando S3 were a little slow except for a couple big scenes. Definitely feels like they are building for a big payoff with the Bo-Katan story arc.
We'll see if they can nail the payoff. Episode 4 I thought was the best one of the season.
A buddy and I were talking about the thing that seems to be happening with Grogu, and this was BEFORE Ep3, and although I don't think it WILL happen, just the thought of it is a holy sh* concept.

Just catching up on this. Outstanding show.
Ran in to this clip on FB this morning... As a GenXer and MacGyver fan... It cracked me up. (I never watched SG)

Some of the outtakes from the Stargate series are amazing. I suspect it's common in long running shows to let the actors keep going like that when they flub a line, but there are several of those from SG-1 over the years.Ran in to this clip on FB this morning... They nailed the MFing payoff two times in the same ep. Holy sh* this ep was great.

Thru 6 of the 10 episodes of Beef, really good. Ali Wong is excellent in a complex part.

This is one of my favorite shows I’ve seen in ages. Wong is terrific! I think she’s a hilarious comic, but I was truly surprised at seeing her in this.
