I vote at a church about a mile from my house. And I don’t vote at the church whose parking lot borders my backyard. I looked at a map after voting and all my neighbors vote along with me at the church a mile away. Anyone that lives near the church where I vote, votes at the church in my backyard.
And when I voted in Mpls. for over 20 years I would just walk across the street.
Tonight at the Chris Tomlin concert my wife needed to use the restroom. We were on the floor so she found the women’s restroom and the line was long and slow. Come to find out they are renovating the women’s restroom and half the stalls are in use.
Why do they wait now to renovate the restroom. It’s already Wolves basketball season. Why wasn’t this done over the summer during the off peak… lol!!!

I am sure they had reasons. Nothing is as similar as it appears.
So the Chicago Bears and the University of Northwestern are both building multi billion dollar football stadiums, why can’t they just merge together and build 1?

probably the same reasons the UMN and Vikings don’t share a stadium.

Because the Bears want full control over the facility and all the revenues from it is the most likely reason.

That's how we ended up with the Metrodump. 😆🤔☹️

ok throw the White Sox in also they want a new stadium
Ok, the “taconite” background is too annoying to read! Nice tie-in but can we go back to a regular backdrop and black lettering please. White letters on dark is giving me a headache.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

I agree. All you have to do is change the setting by clicking on the moon symbol and it goes back to white background
I am seeing tons of advertising for new trucks, and one of the primary features being advertised is the "Crabwalk" on the Hummer and GMC vehicles. (Which is weird, I have never owned a truck, am not looking for a truck, and don't like driving trucks)
Anyway, can someone please explain to me how this would come in handy? It looks like a complete gimmick to me, but again I don't own these things so I have no idea. Is that a reason someone is going to purchase a Truck? "Oh finally, this thing turns all 4 wheels slightly and drives at an angle. This solves my main issue with buying a new truck".

Explain it to me like I am 5.
My brother in law and i were discussing this during the Vikings game watching one of the adverts, and we are convinced maybe it would be helpful in certain parallel parking situations, but essentially came to the conclusion that its a feature that would likely break long term and cause expense repairs as a result.
I really don't think you need it and its a gimmick that people can show off. It looks super dumb.

It would also be useful in some off-road if situations, but it is still stupid because the rest of the vehicle probably wouldn’t be able to get you into said situations in the first place. It’s a party trick.
This is funny, we had this same conversation and came to the same conclusion that there was no useful reason for this feature other than to look cool in the snow. And absolutely more things that could break. $$$$$$
(Which is weird, I have never owned a truck, am not looking for a truck, and don't like driving trucks)
I would say 25-40% of the personal owned trucks on the road are driven by guys who have no truck purposes of driving the truck. It's an gimmick, image and power trip for them. I use my Dodge Journey more for truck purposes than these characters. All these gadgets and features on vehicles are making people less and less defensive in driving. So yes @cowgirl ... It's a overpriced gimmick that auto companies use as 'smoke and mirrors'.

it's closer to 90%.
I am in the 10% then. I pull a boat and also have a 6x10 enclosed trailer that I pull, plus I am 6'4" and fit much better in a truck vs a car.
I don't know where these estimates are being pulled out of (maybe I do 😆), but trucks nowadays make for a very comfortable ride and cost about the same as an Acura SUV. Automakers have shortened cargo beds so trucks can fit into garage spaces, increased the back seat space to accommodate families, and added turbo chargers to smaller engines that help fuel efficiency. What's not to like?
Most of the people I know who drive trucks own equipment (ATVs, snowmobiles, etc.), haul boats, campers, trailers and hunt, fish, camp, chop wood and enjoy other outdoors pursuits. None of this screams ego/power trip driver to me. I have a friend who loves his F150 even though he uses it only once a year pulling his camper for a two-week summer vacation. He doesn't feel like he's sacrificing anything the other 50 weeks.
Ask a person who owns a truck how many times during the year non-truck owners ask for a favor. 😉

93% frequently use it for towing. Less than a third use it frequently for hauling, but what constitutes "hauling" is bit subjective. I haul my groceries home in my crossover that has a better ride, better interior, better fuel economy, better traction, better safety, and isn't going to kill a pedestrian in a low speed collision.
ETA: if you need a truck, I have no issue with that. But studies show that the vast, vast majority own trucks as lifestyle accessories. Which was my original point. Again, I have no problem with needing a truck for work or if you are frequently hauling large loads that require a truck.
ETA2: I completely forgot I also hauled 2,000 lbs of landscape blocks home in my MDX.
So…what about those of us that own a sports car….TOTALLY necessary in my daily life. 😂 I’ve even used it to attend sporting events; that counts, right?

My parents had a '75 Corvette for about 20 years until they retired 10 years ago. I was never a fan of it. Really didn't care to ride or drive in it. It was their thing. Though I guess if you want to $50,000 to $100,000 for a truck and have it as a status symbol... be my guess.
I have an F150 and my wife has a Honda Pilot. They both have their place. She would never drive a truck, and we use her vehicle when we anticipate a tight parking area such as a downtown lot.
I use my truck all the time at the lake for hauling and towing. I like the option of abusing my cargo space while having the capacity to tow a 7,000# camper from time to time and a 4,000# boat. We take a tent camping trip once a year, and the truck bed and boat are packed to the gills. I also appreciate the bigger tires and added ground clearance while driving through stubble fields chasing pheasants.
I suppose there are plenty of city people who rarely benefit from a truck's utility, but for rural folks in places like South Dakota, where I spend two weeks each year bowhunting, a truck is a tool.
(I don't buy the article's mention of blind spots for trucks. I can see right through the blind spot using my side mirrors, and the back-up camera is more revealing than turning my arthritic neck around.)

I would say dx's 90% is a bit high, but I did get a chuckle out of it and gave it a thumbs up. Again, this isn't a shot you and anyone who drives a truck for truck purposes. It's a shot at the ones who drive a truck and whine whine they get a scratch in their truck bed with or w/o a liner. It's a truck... lol!!!

I should clarify my comment... my comment is also more directed to metro city slickers... lol!!!

Is my only option to drive one as a status symbol? 😆 I read somewhere that more millionaires drive a Ford F150 than any other vehicle. Wouldn't that make it an anti-status symbol?
Now, suburbanites carting groceries around in a Range Rover I would consider a status thing. Even so, whatever floats your boat. Spenders keep the economy humming...at least until they need bailing out. 😌
As someone who owns 2 pickup's, I guess I will sit this one out. Luckily I fall in the 10% that needs them for my farm business. I do shake my head at the ones who put oversized tires on them and jack them up like Big Foot the monster truck. Now, if I see that owning a tractor appears in this thread, we may have a problem.. 🤣

While I have nowhere to store one, and live in suburbia, I do technically have a tractor. My Dad gifted me one of my Grandpa’s old tractors. Apple Valley is a butt about everything, but I’d love to see what they’d have to say if I were to get it down here and drive around the neighborhood with it. 😂
I’d totally take a kei truck being in and around the city. While it would mostly be to thoroughly enjoy the funny looks I’d get, there’s also an alarming amount of city truck-focused utility there.

I say put a Gopher Hockey flag on it and dress in one of your jerseys and take a spin around the block after Gopher wins and see the reactions. 🤣

I'd say if you're judging someone by the vehicle they choose to drive (music they listen to, food they eat, clothes they wear...) it may be a you problem.

I don't think this is about judging. At least it's not for me. If I see a standard truck I don't even notice. But as mentioned above, the lifted trucks with modified exhaust are exceptions. I am absolutely judging. Sue me.
Crabwalk is a really nice feature to have on the forklifts we have on jobsites. Can't think of a reason to have it on a truck.
I was going to say the same thing and really crabwalk is about a once or twice a year thing, four wheel steering on a telehandler is used much more often. GMC already tried that gimmick and quickly dropped that idea.

The thing that makes me laugh about some truck owners is the one's who lift em' or 4x4 the hell out of them and the truck never even sees a gravel road! An example is a co-worker of mine who spent $80k on a Silverado dually that was lifted and had one off wheels and he had the truck shipped from New Jersey. The truck never saw a gravel road and was washed weekly by hand because it was too wide to fit in any car wash. Funny reason as to why he got rid of the truck, in the last two months he had it he received no less than 9 tickets for his window tint being to dark and his tires were too far outside of the fender wells. He lost his ass on the truck when he sold it for $55k because no one in Minnesota wanted to buy the hassle.

Who’s judging?!?!?! @dxmnkd316 , others and I have pretty much said, if it floats your boat, ohhhhhhh well. Just don’t get it.

I think we can all tell immediately between a work truck and a pavement princess. Driving a 75K+ personal vehicle is already a bit much but we all know these dudes who are just trying way too hard. Congrats if that’s a frivolous purchase for you but for most of us our vehicles have to be functional.
